We bought two, and these are the best knives for spreading sandwiches, bread, bagels, or muffins. The serrated edge is great for slicing after you've spread it with whatever. Unlike a wooden handle, this is long-wearing and easier to clean. This is a classic institutional grade sandwich spreader with an ambidextrous grip and quite a nice serrated blade for cutting. It is dishwasher safe and should last just about forever in the home environment. I used this exact knife in the kitchen of a restaurant I worked at for years.
