every week i have to use this knife to cut about ten to twelve pounds of beef, few strike on the sharpening steel, its get you going with no problem, it comes to a point you need to use a waterstone,just give a few,and take good care of it after use,nothing forever,don't need those fancy stone that they created those to make your money or for those very professional or very large volume of usage,just like on time to give your car oil change and don't abuse it during or after used.
4 stars because this knife seemed a little pricey to me but the quality is definitley there. Handle feels good and the blade looks excellent. Like i said 4 stars only cause of the price.
