All 3 items functioned as advertised. The fork had little pointy things on it to allow one to easily pick up small items on the plate. The fork, however, was not very efficient for soups. It took a LONG time to finish a bowl of soup using the fork, and even longer using the knife. The spoon seemed to work far better at this operation. The knife excelled at spreading butter, and at cutting big things into smaller pieces. After getting my hands dirty and even burning them a few times, I discovered I could hold down a big piece with the pointy things on the fork and cut them with the knife at the SAME TIME.
