Oak and Walnut Steak Knife Block

I purposely chose this knife block because it was made in the USA. While the workmanship is adequate, I do have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed it was not made better. When laminating sheets of wood together, there should be no gap between laminations. This has some minor gaps. The finish is a bit on the thin side. Had a finer saw-blade been used when cutting the block to size, the finish would probably have looked better. Unfortunately, either a dull blade, or a course one was used and saw marks can be seen beneath the finish.

While this steak knife block is attractive looking and quite serviceable, I pay a bit more for American made products because I expect superior quality. Mine didn't have that. I hope that was a fluke.

I bought two of these steak knife blocks and really like them. You can tell right away that the blocks were carefully handcrafted, the slits are all even and appropriately vertical. The price is a bonus because one would expect these to cost much more!
