Fleur de Lys Laguiole Rosewood carving set

I wanted the genuine article made in france. Not an imitation 'made in china'. I really wish merchants would list where a product is made at least it would give me a clue whether i was buying the genuine article. I guess the price should have been the clue...

There is no way this was a Lagioule knife set. The blade was not stamped with the brand name and the trademark bee was a rough imitation. Wooden handles seemed more like resin.

My fiance really wanted this carving set for Christmas. At first, it was in a catalog and I tried to order it there but it was sold out. Then I thought to myself, Amazon has EVERYTHING! So I went online, found the exact set that he wanted (carefully comparing it to the picture in the catalog) and ordered it! I got it just in time for Christmas, with a nice handwritten note saying "Joyeux Noel" from Frog Du Jour! It was a nice personal touch that a customer normally doesn't get. Needless to say, my fiance LOVED the carving set! He can't wait to use it! :)
