Shun Edo BB1513 6-1/2-Inch Single Bevel Usuba Knife

The knife is awesome. High quality and very functional. Unfortunately when the knife arrived, it was in the original black boxbut had greasy fingerprints all over the box even though it was listed on Amazon as "New". Since I bought the knife as a birthday present for my son, I wasn't pleased about the greasy fingerprints on the box...especially since I was unable to remove them without destroying the box. Poor quality control on the part of Amazon.

I bought this knife about a month ago and it is easily the best knife I own. I have a few Shun's, Wusthof's and Henckel's and this knife easily takes the cake. The hammered finish helps to keep food from sticking and works even much better than my double hollow ground sumo santoku. The weight definitely helps the knife move effortlessly through any produce but is not too heavy to cause any kind of fatigue. The balance is great and is right at the bolster. Also I love this VG-10 steel. It stays sharp forever. It's just too bad Shun discontinued the edo line :(
