The small size means these cutting boards are always at hand for quick jobs. They are small enough to fit in a nearby drawer with other kitchen implements instead of in the cabinet where the large cutting boards go. And they take up very little room on the counter, which is great for a quick parsley chop for a garnish at the end of meal prep that left dishes and pots all over the counter.
I ordered 3 of these a couple months ago, and have just ordered 2 more. I use them so often that all three end up in the daily dishwasher run at the moment I need a new one. These little boards are not very useful for jobs that require a chef's knife. You'll want a bigger board for that. But pretty much anything that you use a paring knife for, you'll love using these boards for that. Here is what I use them for: cutting a lemon or lime into wedges, shredding parsley, or rosemary, or chives, slicing a single tomato, cutting and coring a single pear or apple.I have to admit that I had some regret about ordering this when I came to realize it was so thin. But it turned out to be as solid as a sheet of slate. My first test was to give it a run in the dishwasher. DIDN'T WARP! With only one other exception, every cutting board I've ever owned eventually warped. So far so good with this one.I use this just for cutting meat. It doesn't dull my knives and cleans up very easily.
I'll probably buy another but I'll look for a large one.I actually got this to be a spoon rest for my stove top. It is attractive enough for that. For cutting it would be small.....better suited for herbs or something similar. This cutting board is thin, looks nice enough to serve on and is very durable. It's easier to clean than either wood or plastic.
