This would make a great gift for a grad student or someone who's just moved out on their own; who wants to save money by cooking their own grub and doesn't have a lot of space to spare. I wouldn't give this set to someone like a mom with kids or any type of person that lives in their kitchen or uses top quality knives and fancy techniques. For someone like me howeverthese are pretty much perfect.

I am so dissapointed in this set, while it looked great and I love the idea of color coded --I unfortunately did not use them until after my "return period" had ended. I have only used the green one for vegatables and w/ chopping tomatoes, onions and guacamole the entire cutting surface of the board now has DEEP cuts in it--this is just from ONE use mind you! I cannot imagine if I had cut meat or something that would have required actual "cutting pressure" --be sure to save your money or if you do "risk" it do not be like me, too busy to cook for a while, due to our joyous new baby, and get stuck with a terrible quality product especially given how much was paid!Read Best Reviews of Joseph Joseph Index Chopping Board Set Here
Who ever heard of a cutting board with a slick surface? Welcome to Joseph Joseph cutting boards. Want to stab yourself accidentally? Buy these. My husband came home with these from Costco. I thought these looked great and the concept of color coded cutting boards seemed very cool. But, what a horrible idea. It's aesthetically pleasing. But my first attempt at cutting a piece of meat, the meat slipped off of the cutting board and the knife barely missed my hand. Why would meat slip on a cutting board?!? Because the cutting boards are a nonporous smooth surface. Not ideal for a cutting board.I thought the case was going to be stainless steal. The case turned out to be some type of silver painted light weight plastic.
