Zwilling J.A. Henckels Autobahn 42-Piece Flatware Set

After viewing dozens of flatware patterns, hoping to find one at my local Bed, Bath and Beyond in order to use my 20% coupon and feel the heft of the pieces to make sure they would work, I was consistently drawn back to the Autobahn pattern. One hesitation was that it only came with two serving pieces, a larger fork and spoon, rather than the standard five pieces. The look of the flatware trumped the smaller number of serving pieces and since BB&B did not carry this particular pattern, I purchased the set from Amazon.

The flatware arrived in a day and was just as beautiful as the picture on the site. It was a great relief that the weight, lighter than the set we had, was perfect. The longer length of each piece was actually more comfortable to hold. The knives were definitely sharper than most flatware knives and the fact that they are not intended to lay flat provides them with a more unique look.

The only issue I had was that the serving spoon had a deep scratch (the only piece in the entire set) so I had to return the entire set. I immediately purchased another set and was surprised that the serving spoon in the new set also had a scratch. I wonder if this defect is an issue in the sets manufactured at the same time. I decided to keep the set as it was more of a surface scratch. I do caution any purchaser to unwrap the serving pieces first before removing the plastic from the other pieces. This will save a lot of time in repacking, if necessary.

A fine product, so well made with it's looks and quality feel. Maintains it's lustre over many washings and garners approving comments from dinner guests. Simply love it and was worth the price, every penny!!
