Reed & Barton Longwood II 65-Piece Stainless Flatware Set Service for 12

Reed & Barton Longwood II 65-Piece Stainless Flatware Set Service for 12Have had the set for about a month and absolutely love it. First found the pattern at a restaurant and discovered it was a discontinued pattern so was delighted to find it on Amazon. Additional serving pieces purchased from another vendor are heavier weight than those purchased through Amazon. Considering the original price from the manufacturer and purchase price from Amazon, it was well worth it.

We bought this set for our Thanksgiving table and we love it. The lines are clean and simple, and the size of the utensils feels appropriate. The additional serving pieces were nice, too, and reduced what we had to buy outside of the set. Also cleaned up very easily in the dishwasher. Highly recommended!

I bought this based on previous reviews. Yes, it was bright and shiny, nice and heavy and yes the 18/10 stainless steel was the selling point, but I was disappointed when I received this. The picture made it look as if the indentations were deep, but the ones I received were slightly indented, making it look much less elegant and quite ordinary.I ended up buying Miikasa 18/10 flatware that was close in price and found it much nicer. The wonderful thing was the ease of the return. Thanks to Amazon, I was only unhappy for a very short time!

I have no idea how anyone could give this flatware anything but a great review. It surpassed all my wishes, it is heavy weight, well balanced, beautifully finished and comes out of the dishwasher looking as bright as new and we have extremely hard water with no softener. Very classy everyday flatware what more could you ask for?

10 years ago, we purchased the original Longwood. This pattern was discontinued and replaced with the Longwood II. Reed and Barton has changed the pattern slightly, yet is still using the original Longwood picture. The main difference in the patterns is that the Longwood I has the following pattern: small band of metal, larger band of metal, small band of metal. The Longwood II has 4 equidistant lines, creating 3 identical-sized bands. I emailed Reed & Barton and they confirmed this to be the case. I then asked how they think it is okay to use an inaccurate picture of their product. I did not get a reply back. Disappointing marketing/customer service from R&B.
