It came razor sharp right out of the box and stayed razor sharp after many uses. The blade is very thin, making it easy to cut fast and precise. Aesthetics are great to. The dragon design is really cool (not available on smaller sizes), and the high carbon content of the allow gives it a really nice, worn-looking discoloration. Best knife I've used as a professional chef.
