Norpro Professional Poultry Shears

Purchased these shears from Amazon.com as my other poultry shears weren't doing the job like they should. These Norpro shears provided an excellent grip and cut through the back bone of a roasting chicken I was butterflying effortlessly. The long handles provided extra leverage and very little pressure was required to cut up the bird. In addition, after the chicken was roasted it was a simple task to cut through the rest of the roasted bird. Would recommend these shears to anybody.

This is a good buy at the price. I need to cut up raw chicken for my dogs, which is a lot of raw chicken cutting a day, the disjointing being WORK---and I really ought to have a stout cleaver and a real butcher block, because raw chicken is slippery and does not come apart all that easily. having said that, at this price I believe this is a very good utensil.

I bought these based on the reviews. Honestly for the money I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't even need to try them on poultry the shears wouldn't met and move smoothly just cutting air. The joint wobbled. I sent them back.

Really great build quality and nice and large. However when it comes to actually cutting up a chicken these often crunch through ribs but don't cut the skin. Its like the two blades aren't quite close enough to eachother or the tension on them isn't high enough.

They look nice in my knife block but for cutting up chicken I'll stick with my trusty cleaver.
