Now Designs Floursack Teatowel Set - Marigold Series

Now Designs Floursack Teatowel Set - Marigold SeriesI've been buying these dish towels for years, but my local store stopped carrying them, so I came to Amazon to buy them. I've reviewed them elsewhere, so if you want to know about the towels, look up my other reviews. I really like them. However, this review is about Smoky Mountain Knife Works, which serviced my Amazon purchase, and I want to warn others about my experience with this company.

I bought 12 towels but was only sent 8. The packing slip said 4 were on backorder. I had been charged for the full 12. I waited a month for them to arrive and another 2 weeks, then contacted Amazon. SMKW then emailed me and wrote that they no longer carried the towels, and asked if I wanted a refund. I was irritated because would they have ever contacted ME to give me the refund? I blew it off knowing I'd never order from them again.

But the real problem began when they sent me their catalog knives and hunting stuff. I am diligent about keeping my name away from marketers, and that's one reason I buy through Amazon. I don't know how Smoky Mountain Knife Works got around that, but they then sent my personal information to other mass marketers.

Yesterday in my mail, along with my "Defenders of Wildlife" newsletter, I received "The Ultimate Sportsman" packet. It's got a guy walking in the snow with a rifle and a dead bird hanging from his other hand. The backside has all these guns and an ad for GunsInternational.com. It's pathetic! Sending me "sportsman" GUN literature is like sending abortion information to a right wing Christian. And it's all Smoky Mountain Knife Works' doing sending me their garbage and then adding insult to injury by giving my personal info to GUN people.

I've tried three times to get off SMKW's mailing list, but they don't answer their phones. They put you on hold and then tell you to leave a message after about 10 minutes of waiting. I left a message 3 times and have not received a return call. AND I am STILL receiving their catalog in the mail despite my messages asking to be removed from their mailing list.

Do yourself a favor and buy these towels from someone else. Pay a little extra and buy them from a kitchen store.
