I have tried several of the brand name retail oyster knives, and they all break. This knife is sturdy and strong. The shape of the blade is important to the durability of the product and this blade is shaped correctly.

I would have given it 5 stars, but I still prefer my Dexter-Russell oyster knife. This is a good second though. Plus, the price on the 2-pack is unbeatable.

You may be wondering why anyone would need/want more than one oyster knife...oyster roasts. Everyone can shuck their own oysters. No screwdrivers or pocket knives sending your guests to the ER.

For restaurant owners or anyone who has to shuck tons of oysters, I would stick with Dexter-Russell. For anyone who just needs a good quality oyster knife, this is your best bet. I definitely recommend this set.

I bought these to use for a picnic, mainly because of the price. It has a sturdy shaft, stabbing design, no blade. the tip allows excellent leverage. The plastic handle might melt if you leave near the grill. Great price and quality.
