I looked at all the bread slicers and this one looked the best, however, if the bread is not the same size as regular bakery sized bread, it won't stay together. We tried it with different sizes of homemade bread, and we found the slicer would not stay together. We are still going to try using it, on various sizes of bread, but it may take some minor engineering to get the thing to stand still. The knife, however was excellent. We use it all the time on the homemade bread. So, if I were going to reccommend it to anyone, I would say that it might work better, if it is nailed down, but as it is made from plastic, this might be a little difficult.

falls apart often,slices are too thin,would not recomend to any body,it took to long to get here,do not like it.After receiving a bread maker as a gift I quickly realized that I needed something to allow even slicing of the bread. This gadget serves its purpose and I'm very pleased.Super flimsy, kept falling apart every time I tried to use it. I used it as a drying rack for awhile but it wasn't even good for that so I threw it away
