Powell Medium Oak Kitchen Butler

Powell Medium Oak Kitchen ButlerWe received shipment of our Powell Kitchen Butler over a week early and were delighted. We put it together on Saturday and though there were many steps and pieces it went together very nicely. The directions were easy to follow and nothing was missing. The Butler is fantastic. It matches our kitchen cabinets so well, that it looks like it belongs there. I looked at 100's of products over the course of about 2 weeks before I made my choice. As another reviewer said, this is solid furniture, not an el-cheapo product. I am very pleased and will recommend to others.

I purchased this product direct from Amazon in Medium Oak. I was hesitant to purchase furniture online "sight unseen" but it looked nice, so I gave it a shot. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece. It is solid wood with quality sliders and hardware. There are many nice add-ins that come with the product, such as a knife block, knife drawer, spice rack, silverware trays, etc. The granite insert is nice, too. No cheaping out here. It has held up very well over the past year. This kitchen cart is definitely a bargain when you consider the price of the pressboard stuff sold at major retailers for close the same price. I get many compliments on the kitchen cart in our home and would highly recommend it to friends.

We love it...the quality is great. It is what I would call dark oak not medium. The top is butcher block.

This item arrived yesterday, 12/16 in a big box. It took me (a 5'5", 140 lb female), 20 minutes to get it uncarted (it was packaged very well no damage)and another 20-30 minutes to sort and organize all of the parts for assembly. All of the assembly parts were in one big bag, so imagine having to sort 20 different screws before even starting assembly. In addition, none of the screws were well labelled. This wasn't a big deal for the large ones, however the little screws were hard to tell apart. After all the sorting was done, it then took me, by myself, 2.5 hours to put to together. I only had one side panel "E" that was not aligned by 1/4 inch with the top section. I had to redrill that hole, then all else matched up and it was fast. I had all the sides, shelves, etc together in less than an hour. All of the other time was putting the hinges on 3 of the doors and putting them onto the cart. Let me tell you, I put the doors on 3 times because I did't get the hinges screwed on the doors right, and had to unassemble and redo. I found that the instructions did not clearly show the right way to put the hinges on. The pictures are there but they're line drawings, and in that area I was frustrated. Other than that, it was easy. I must note that there are no written instructions, it's all pictures. In some areas of assembly, words were needed.

I put mine together without the towel bars, because I want to butt up flush to a wall or my counter top when using it as extra counter space. It looks beautiful, it's all wood construction and sturdy. You will not be disappointed.
