Mundial Solid Wood Cutting Board, LargeThis is a very nicely made cutting board and a great value at the price. BUT, I think it is a bit too big for use as an everyday board. I purchased both this board and the medium Mundial cutting board. They are identical except for the size. After having had them for a month or so, I have found that I use the medium board nearly everyday, while this board is a bit too large and heavy for use as an everyday cutting board. Rather, it is the board you break out for those big turkeys and hams on Thanksgiving & Christmas.

The bottom line is if you are looking for one everyday cutting board, I highly recommend the medium version of this board instead of this one. Or, do like I did & get both and have this one "on standby" for large roasts and poultry.

Very nice cutting board. Looks and works well. A little too large so pretty heavy. Would suggest a smaller size for everyday use.

I have spent the better part of the last 30 years cooking for my family and groups up to 30. I own no less than 7 cutting boards in various plastics, woods and sizes. This board was better than I expected, so I bought a second one for a friend who is learning to cook.

Weight is actually less than expected for a board this size. I would and have reccomended this to others.

Thought I've only had it a few weeks, this board has proved sturdy and reliable thus far. The rubber feet prevent it from moving around, which allows me to use it over a corner of the counter (small NYC kitchen) by positioning the feet on either side and letting the board extend over the air between. Dries quickly and decent size.

I'm not a chef. I'm not even a foodie. I just wanted a decent cutting board... for cutting stuff. It's my understanding that rock maple is the best cutting board surface, but this solid wood board is very good and already gets a lot more use from me than I thought it would in the less than four months I have had it.

That being said, it's a wood board, so take care of it. Keep it clean, don't submerge it in water, and use appropriate tools on it like knives only. I used a pizza cutter on it once and it left wide grooves due to the thickness of the cutting wheel. Also, get one cutting board for produce and cooked foods (I use this Mundial board for those items) and a second cutting board for raw meat (my preference has come to be a poly board for this).

A good quality board like this is beneficial for the edge of your knives. It has a large, comfortable cutting surface, the gutter and hand grip are nice features for keeping any liquids on the board and easy carrying, and the rubber feet keep it firmly in place. It is a thick piece of wood, so it's not light, but because of the weight and quality, if it is taken care of, this cutting board will last a very long time.
