Mikasa French Countryside 20-Piece Flatware Set

This pattern is very pretty but it is 18/0 stainless steel and made in Indonesia. Had I known these facts, I would have definitely not purchased this set. Since there were no reviews on this flatware on Amazon I looked at other websites and read the reviews. The other websites said this pattern was made of 18/10 grade stainless steel, which is what I wanted. Did not realize that Mikasa made this in the inferior 18/0 grade also and thought I was buying 18/10 stainless. Amazon does not tell you in its description that it is 18/0 grade and made in Indonesia, so beware. This flatware is on the cheap looking side in my opinion and will be returning it soon.

Originally purchased individual place settings which were great quality and design. Decided to get this set of 5 place settings to augment the set and found that the reviewer above is exactly right: 18/0 stainless, poor quality and even smaller in size to the flatware we bought by the individual setting. Returning this set, very displeased.

I bought eight setting of this pattern ten years ago. I wanted another four and yes, the price here is amazing -every other place wants $110 for this set. Once I saw it, though, it took me no time at all to decide to return it. Not one of the pieces looks quite like the older pieces and they are definitely not as well made. They have rougher edges and less detail. I can only conclude that Mikasa is unloading a badly made batch at a bargain price. It's still good enough silverware, I suppose, but if you already have any of this pattern be warned.

Firstly, I must say the I love the look of this flatware and the weight/ feel. I bought two sets of this flatware along with the 4 piece hostess set.

However, I soon noticed that this flatware is actually made of 18/0 STAINLESS STEEL, NOT 18/10 as the product description states. I feel misled as I thought I was purchasing a product of excellent quality and durability than I actually received. NOTE THAT THIS PRODUCT IS NOT 18/10 STAINLESS STEEL!!

Read Amazon reviews which were pretty negative. Had seen the product at a discount store at a significantly higher price. I assumed this must be a different product. Took the chance and ordered. Could not have been more pleased. The quality was great and the so was the price.
