I just received this item and read the instructions for using it. So this is a PREview, not a REview.After reading the manual, it seems to me to be a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. Also, the manual is not very well written i.e. much more technical than it needs to be, using terms that are not well explained, and having references to pictures that are on other pages. Chef's Choice makes great products, but needs to hire better writers and put more effort into their manuals for the slicer AND this sharpener.)
I like that you don't have to take the blade out of the slicer (very sharp blades can be very dangerous) but having to be careful of the alignment and the removal of the "burr" makes it more of a challenge, it seems, to get it right.
Having said that, considering the price of new blades, this is a great investment.

works on other makes as well. home slicers need all the help they can get to prepare evenly sliced, especially thin sliced portions. that blade had better be sharp or things get messy, especially uneven slice messy. this blade sharpener is easy to use and does the job, making those 1/16 inch slices ordinary and those slices that start that way and bump out to 1/8 inch left for another day.Save 35% Off
