When I purched this needle I wasn't sure it would be long enough to go through a good sized chicken but the price was right and I took a chance. I just trussed a chicken for the rotisserie and did just what I wanted easily through the bird wing to wing and leg to leg before going around at each with butcher's twine. I had no problem with the chicken shifting on the rod or a part sagging.
