Mercer 4-Piece Genesis Collection Forged Starter Set

My daughter-in-law is very picky about her knives (doesn't use serrated at all). She also puts her knives in dishwasher (non-negotiable), so her knives would rust (within a week there are rust spots on her former set).

I researched knives for hours until I settled on these as one of her birthday gifts. I just checked with her, AND SHE LOVES THEM. She said they are super sharp and not a spot of rust. (That's why I bought them based on other peoples' reviews at every site I could find -they are the least likely to rust.)

So I think these are a hit and a fabulous purchase. The price was reasonble as well.

Just a P.S. I also bought her a knife holder that is unlike the typical butcher block. It lets in air and light -as I thought this would help as well for the longterm. (and it's cleanable; I always wonder what's down deep in the butcher block. See my other review for that product.)

My husband is the cook in the house and he absolutely loves this set of knives. When our son moved out, he begged us to get him this set as well. They are versatile and very well made. Highly recommend, great quality and affordable too!
