Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker

Spyderco Triangle Sharpmakerthis is a great knife sharpener.anyone can use it & it will sharpen scissors, wire cutters, potato peelers, nail clippers, anything you will need.

This sharpener was recommended by the manufacturer of an upscale pocket knife I purchased. Seems well made. I watched the instructional video. The knife seems to have a tough blade that is hard to sharpen. I find my oil stone give better results in this case.

I have been trying to find a good knife sharpener that would not break the bank. I wanted the wicked edge sharpening system but found it too much. The Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker is just the ticket. I love it and have been able to bring back the blade on my kitchen knives. I thought I was going to have to do something drastic but now I am all set. I highly recommend.

I'll admit it. I never did master the manly art of sharpening a blade. My dad and just about every old coot in faded overalls and funky baseball caps could hone a blade to samurai sharpness right in front of me in the time it took him to get through the first few sentences about the weather. Meanwhile I would spend hours with a stone getting greasy fingers just to make a moderately dull blade dull as a brick or a completely dull blade just fit for scrap. It was worst with Spyderco blades because they already came stupid sharp brand new and when they eventually wore down my ineptitude was all the more frustrating. So I finally got this. Yes, it looks kind of weak and over complex, but it comes with a good instruction manual and a better DVD. Using it is about as far from rocket science as tying a shoe. The biggest hazard is people getting blase and not using the brass safety rods and drawing their razor sharp blades over their fingers and hands. What's more, it's not just for pocket knives or kitchen knives. It can be used on everything short of a guillotine to include straight razors, box cutters, nail clippers, axes, and screwdrivers. And with the exception of a two of the stones, as long as you don't use it to hammer nails your grandchildren will be using it.

I inherited a few chef's knives from my grandfather, and they have been knocking around unprotected for the last few years. I saw a less-expensive version of this on Amazon, but the reviews were less than inspiring. I opted for this and went to work on two ten-inch carving knives and three paring knives. It took three complete processes to get them to cut again, but wow! They cut unbelievably well. I then got brave and ran the wife's treasured German Messermeisters through. I can literally shave with those now. The technique will require some practice, but overall, it's worth the effort if you take pride in doing things yourself.
