This set is as good as I was hoping for. They seem a little thin at first touch but boy do they cut well. Of course we never put them in the dishwasher and we only used them on a cutting board (except for the steak knives of course). We have used these knives nearly every day as my wife is quite the cook. We have yet to sharpen/straighten them and they are as sharp today as when we first got them. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.
