After all those years, the edge is still useable and the handle looks new. But, I keep wondering how long this little guy can last. Three of my German Henckels have shattered over the same time period just from falling on a ceramic tile floor. I've been looking for a spare for some time. Henckels doesn't list this model on their website. No one else seems to offer anything comparable. I'm thrilled to have finally found a supply. I would guess this is old stock. The seller delivered them promptly.I have a JA Henckels knife set i've been trying to complete for the last year . The only knife i didn't have was the fillet knife or boning knife as they often call it . This is it , supposedly . Was anxious to receive it and get straight to work with it . Alas after a slight delay in shipping we received it and found that it was sent standard USPS in a simple small padded envelope and inside was the knife with nothing more than a thin layer of cardboard wrapped around the blade . Never once have i seen or purchased a Henckels knife packaged in such a way . None the less i pulled it out and removed the wrapping from the blade only to be surprised yet again . This blade was nothing like any of the other EverSharp series of knives i own . It's fully mirror polished or coated one , the lettering , label and so forth were all printed onto the blade not stamped or etched as my others . Lastly the blade plainly said JAPAN on it . Not to throw punches but as to my knowledge JA knives are only made in 2 places , neither of which is Japan . Then we look closer at the handle . It too is completely different from the rest of the set . Every knife in this set thus far has the exact same build and styling just in varying sizes and blade styles . This one , completely different , tear drop shaped handle , stamped with a texture rivets , the plastic in the handle was so soft i could imprint it with my thumb nail and it was clearly not very well made as it was actually some waht loosely riveted and actually wiggeled a bit . A poor quality knife regardless of name style shape size or branding ! We opted to return it and that turned into a fiasco . Buyer be warned and AMAZON you should be looking into this because it was a completely unacceptable situation entirely !
