Nice and lightweight. Easy to use. This was to replace another ceramic peeler I owned that had become dull. This one works wonderfully.

I bought this after buying a ceramic knife, I absolutely love how sharp ceramic is, but I find this peeler to be set at an odd angle that makes peeling hard for me. If they has one with the original body I am use to I would love it.

The handle of this one is thin plastic.

Rock'n Roll Pizza Cutter

The first time I used the Rock'n Roll Pizza Cutter White to cut twice a 7" pizza into fourths baked on Fox Run 14-Inch Non-Stick Pizza Crisper cooked at 450°F, the edge started melting. Please see video to see melted edge. Instead I recommend RSVP World Class Pizza Cutter or the Dreamfarm Scizza 12-Inch Pizza Scissors, Black.

UPDATE: Maverick Ventures Inc writes they are issuing a pickup of the defective item and refunding soon but have not done so yet.

I just received this reply from Maverick Ventures:

Refunds are based on our return policy which states that the customer must return the product.

I have had initial conversation regarding your request with our management and they would have appreciated that you had contacted us prior to posting your negative comments and video in order to make us aware that you received what appears to be a defective product and fix your problem.

The product you received and the problem you had is not reflective of the true quality of a properly produced part under normal use. And thus the video and comments are not truly reflective of a the normal product and its performance.

I will continue to discuss the possibility of having my management pay for pickup, but my management has again requested that you kindly remove the video and negative comments until we review the returned product.

I am pretty confident that once this is done, and the product analyzed, we'll get you a product back at no charge that works for you.

Frankly, now I feel very stupid. It's plastic! of course it melts! It doesn't defy the laws of science. I was misled by the reviews here that seemed compelling that it was a fine product. Based upon Mavericks' repetitive requests for me to remove a video so that YOU can SEE for yourself what it looks like after one use, I would have to wonder if the other reviews are faked. I was duped. I am going to avoid Maverick most definitely. As Grandma used to say to me "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

I bought one of these cutters years ago in university... I loved it, used it for pizza, quesodilla, thin sandwiches, omelets, and a ton of other uses. Mine vanished in the chaos that followed the birth of our son. (I fear a well meaning grandparent tossed it in the recycling not knowing what it was.) I've been annoyed with every other solution we have at hand for doing those tasks for the last 10 months, tonight I finally said "I'm going to go find it at amazon." and sure enough, page 3 of my first search. This time, I'm going with Blue... though red might have been nice to hide that telltale tomato stain that everything seems to pick up. :)

CulinHome Nouveaux Collection 7-Inch Santoku Knife

Good weight. After trying out many knives, I would say that this fits my average size hands very well and is not too heavy to wield and maneuver around. After cutting my food to prepare an entire meal, my hand, wrists, and arm still feel comfortable.

However, this knife is not as sharp as I would like. It is definitely better than bargain knives you can find in the $10 range but you can sometimes tell that it is not as sharp as you would ideally want in a perfect knife.

1 small nit is that packaging says "Santuko" and not Santoku

It's almost as good as a much more expensive knife my sister has. It does a good job chopping vegetables for salads/recipes.

Victorinox 6" Forged Boning Knife

I've had this knife so long maybe they aren't making so many of these straight handled versions anymore? Most of what comes up in a search these days for Victorinox 'boning' or 'filleting' knife will have a very curved ergonomic handle. I own and have worked with both types of handle styles and my preference often comes down to the specific task it's designed for; I have to say this straight handled model has served me well for years.

This knife is very comfortable the straight handle helps me get a good solid grip on the knife to work cleanly and precisely, for example when deboning a chicken. Admittedly even after watching dozens of how-to videos on you tube my technique is still terrible but the knife does all the work very sharp, flexible, and shaped to be accurate so all that's left when I'm done are the bare bones.

Most of my knives play the "all purpose" role at some point; the beauty of novice ownership of something is that you broaden its destiny by expecting something more or differently from it. A boning knife in my kitchen is often challenged to be way more than *just* a boning knife. Now I wouldn't task this with cleaving a whole chicken into fours of course, but it may have been used to slice some cheese or asparagus recently.

So, I'm no expert here, just a semi-seasoned home cook so I don't know if there are *much* better choices out there and honestly, haven't compared them. I've been very happy with how this knife has performed for me and I'd say this is a good budget choice for a boning knife that will get the job done.

I've used almost every make Forschner, Dick, Shun, and three different Henckels series, and the Profection knives are the best designed and very well made. Weight, balance, finish, are all exactly right for my hand; the new bolster shape makes sharpening the full length easy, and the thick back provides better stability over long use. The blade shape on the slicer expedites cutting, making dividing a large cut of meat easy, and slicing a roast is child's play. I just wish they had a few more types in the series!

I would definitely recommend this knife for someone who is looking for an all purpose, heavy duty, slicing knife.

Yamazaki Escapade 45-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 8

These are decent Chinese reproductions. The originals were very high quality and made in Japan.

The Modern Hollow Knife should have JAPAN printed on it and have a thin perpendicular join line just before it tappers into the flat surface of the knife. The knifes I received from Yamazaki Tableware Inc./Amazon appeared to be one solid piece with CHINA printed on it. The stamped branding on the forks and spoons was off a bit as well. The packaging looks like something you would buy at Target, not at all like the original packaging sold in fine silverware stores.

I think the design is great and this set is priced much lower than the originals that were of higher quality. If you're ok with decent quality Chinese reproductions the price is the best I've seen. I prefer the craftsmanship of the originals from Japan.
