Kyocera HTNBK scissors sharpener
It takes more time for some scissors than others. It simply depends upon the condition of the scissors.I have sharpened all types of scissors with this, it works well. I have had trouble with other sharpeners in holding the angle correctly for the cutting edge of scissors. This simple small gadget does it easily. Kyocera ceramics (I also have several of their kitchen knifes) are much harder than metals and does a nice job sharpening.
I like the small size, it will be easy to store. I am quite happy with this purchase and anticipate using this for a long time.

Japanese knives are miraculous because of their superior sharpness, lightness and edge retention. However, they are more fragile and brittle than their Western counterparts, because their blades are thinner and harder. If they are pushed beyond their limits, you can end up with a chipped or even broken blade. Examples of these limits are heavy tasks such as chopping the heads off fish, cutting through chicken bones or cutting foods that are partially frozen. This is where the Deba knife comes in. At first glance it looks like a santoku, the ever-more-popular all purpose knife. However it is much heavier in the hand and the spine of the knife is about three times thicker. You can use it as a butcher knife to spare your more delicate knives from doing potentially harmful tasks. The Deba is built to take it. It is razor sharp and can do things like mince herbs, and thinly slice onions, but where it really excels is in doing things like cutting up a whole chicken. It will cut through chicken bones quite easily. This is a high quality knife and takes and keeps a really sharp edge and doesn't stain. I have owned mine for 10 years and find it a really useful addition to my knife set.

Nice knife for presentation. Does the job though it is not especially sharp, I found I still needed to push down harder than I thought I might need to slice. But would still recommend it.

Oneida Mandolina 65 Piece Set - Service for 12
Bought the same set for $79.99 plus $5.00 s&h from woot dot com. Just received it, very nice set. Happy I got a bargain!
Upon opening the package, and examining the flatware, I discovered the Mandolina flatware is ornately carved, as pictured, but did not realize how shiny this flatware was going to be. The flatware is much shinier than I would normally like, and would have thought twice about before buying, but it's not too bad. I prefer more of a matte finish.
Also, the decorative engraving seems a bit shallow and lacks depth. The shiny metal may have something to do with this effect. Who knows.
The flatware is lightweight, not super heavy-duty, but it's not bad.
I will be using the flatware during the upcoming holidays. I will update this review after the holidays are over.
Recommend with caveats given.

Spode Christmas Tree 45-Piece Flatware Set
I purchased this as a gift for my daughter I am not sure I should give it to her. It is laughable (except that I spent $118 for it!) The tines of the fork measure 2 1/2 inches from start of the tine to the end, and the soup spoon is 3"! HUGE!! This is a set for a GIANT! I suppose I will give it to her in that Christmas is only 13 days away, but I KNOW I will be returning it!

I bougth this to replace the cutting blade that I had for my 'Vintage Kitchenaid" which had dulled. My machine is over 40 yrs old (mom's). Nice sharp edges and ground the meat well (chicken). However, when washed and dried in the dishwasher the blade was rusty. I was able to remove the rust by hand but this product can not tolerate the dishwasher--disappointed as it is supposed to be stainless steel. This is why it is 3 stars and not 5.Save 33% Off

The knife works well. I wished I had spent the few extra $$$ and got the wood handle one that was was looking at. I had 2 wood handles that I used for over 20 years, and this one still cuts good, but not exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this for the money !!!
LeBrun 24-Piece Laguiole-Style Cutlery Set, Ivory
Just got this set in the mail today. Good weight on them, heavier than I expected. Did some research and they are suppose to be 18/8, but they fell more like 18/10 in my hands. (Don't quote me on this) However, when compared to my other Laguiole steak knives, the bee on this set is different. Different detailing. This makes me question the authenticity of the product. Am I being too neurotic? I mean, Amazon wouldn't sell fake ones... would they??? Also, the set did not come in their usual wooden box...I mean, I don't need the box nor do I have room to store the darn thing, but does this mean this is not from the real LeBrun??? Let me know if you've purchased yours and have the same suspicions.

so these cannot be authentic laguiole....i got to look at some in person at a local boutique for $10.95 a pc and the handle was great but the metal was awful quality roughly cut. my mom thought they were vintage like used. so i thought i would try these out to comppare the quality. the silver on these is nice shiny sooth...a couple spoons were not totally smooth but its the handles that were cheap cheap.Want LeBrun 24-Piece Laguiole-Style Cutlery Set, Ivory Discount?

Wusthof Culinar 2-Piece Asian Cook's Set
These are great knives. I use these two everytime I am preparing a meal. I've owned them for almost five years now. I bought a generic honing steel and a few passes each week and the blades have stayed sharp longer than anything I've ever owned. The gaps on the side of the blade really do seem to stop slices from stickign so much to the blade. Still happens some, especially with something like a tomato.Some people have asked me if they are slippery with wet hands, being all metal and the answer is not at all. The brushed handles are textured and they never feel loose or slippery even when my hands are wet from washing stuff or handling meats.
The little W logo is attached by glue and that came off. Other than that, they've been flawless. I've even thrown them in the dishwaher once in a lazy while. I think the heat from the dishwasher is what unglued the logo.
The brushed steel look is just very classy and not ultra-modern-although it might fit well in that style too. I like it much better than the everyday-black handles. After five years, I have no desire to buy a replacement. These were worht the investment.

My husband and I purchased this set when we first were married, (8 years ago) and I can tell you right now I loathed the caddy. The tools were all very cheap and within a year we had thrown every single piece away due to breaking (and also due to hating the way they felt to hold). The pizza cutter is a joke, you'd be better off using a knife. Please don't waste your money. Even for a poor college couple these were inferior.
The high point of this set was that it shows that you cannot judge by packaging or pictures. It also serves as a lesson, or a reminder that you get what you pay for. And it's is also a good reason to upgrade as soon as possible.
