Reed & Barton Marie Antoinette 120 Piece Flatware Set, Silverware Service for 12, Plus Serving Piec

Reed & Barton Marie Antoinette 120 Piece Flatware Set, Silverware Service for 12, Plus Serving PiecesIt is beautiful and has matching steak knives, teaspoons, and every serving piece I could possibly need. I love it!

I was looking for new silverware and there is a lot to choose from on amazon! BUT most everything is made in China. Not that there is anything wrong with that but if you want something made in USA the choices are limited and way more expensive. So I bit the bullet and got this set. Yes it is made in china but the quality and weight are good. I am happy with my choice.

Very heavy and nice quality. The serving pieces are beautiful and an added bonus. This set is much heavier than my first Reed and Barton set I got over 40 years ago. Well worth the money.

Miracle Blade Knife Block

Miracle Blade Knife BlockI got this for my husband, who had received the Miracle Blade set as a Christmas gift 2 years ago. He was originally going to get rid of them bc he didn't just want to throw them in a drawer. He looked a few times, but saw that the block was soo expensive! I got it for him for an anniversary present (5 years-wood) and I was SO pleased with the price, how quickly it shipped, and the condition it arrived in. Best of all-Hubby LOVED it!

You get what you pay for. It does the job. Although a few of my steak knife slots weren't cut fully and the knives didn't fit all the way in. Easy fix. Other than that it is a decent knife block.

Buy Miracle Blade Knife Block Now

I purchased this knife block without purchasing the Miracle Blade Knife set, and it has been fine. I have found other knives that fit very well in the different slots, and I was surprised and happy to find that this knife block came with four Miracle Blade knives. I think I simply didn't read the description well enough, because the four knives are even featured on the product's picture--still, it was a nice surprise!).

This knife block is sturdy, and it doesn't slide around on the counter because it has gripping pads on the bottom. I am very happy with this purchase.

CaseMore Purple Plastic + Silicon Material Protective Armor Case for Samsung Galaxy S4 S IV i9500CaseMore White Plastic + Silicon Material Protective Armor Case for Samsung Galaxy S4 S IV i9500

After reading some of the reviews from unhappy customers, I must respond that I am mystified by their complaints. This case arrived two days after I placed the order. At first I attempted to put it on in one piece, but saw that the black silicone was separate and a bit of it got folded under. It didn't require much time to work with it, make a few adjustments and get it on correctly. It fits perfectly. There is no cutting of the silicone needed it covers the keys, keeping dirt out. I have no problems using either volume key or the power/lock with the case on. A packet of 3 plastic screen protectors are included and they are great. First one went on with no bubbles at all. I hope to not drop the phone any time soon, so cannot speak to the level of protection the case provides. I don't think any grand claims or promises were made regarding protection. It is a good quality case. My son actually thought it was an Otterbox case. I'm happy with this case.

I really like it, but the plastic case does not fit properly so that makes the buttons hard to press. I had an Ionic on my SG3 and that was great, this was the same concept but does not fit as well on my SG4. I should have spent the extra money and gotten that one instead.

Wusthof 4455 10-Inch Sharpening Steel, Ceramic

Wusthof 4455 10-Inch Sharpening Steel, CeramicI own two sets of Chef Knives. Cutco and Wusthof. Both are fine instruments but, neither hold an edge worth a darn. I've tried several "steels", including the "V" type ceramic sharpening blocks and the sharpening systems recomended by both companies.

I recieved a gift certificate for Christmas so I thought what the heck I'll buy the Wusthof 4455 10 inch sharpening Steel/Ceramic. It is the best investment I have made in a long time. This Ceramic steel works like a champ. I have used it on every knife I own including my bread knives. This Ceramic puts a factory edge on knives with little effort. A few swipes and you are good to go.

No Cons about it. I would recomend this to anyone. In fact I dumped my other steels and this is the only one in my kitchen.

Enjoy and watch your fingers.

Mark

I bought one of theses Wusthof ceramic sharpeners when I started culinary school 6 years ago. It hasn't lost a bit of its grit after hundreds of thousands of swipes and is perfect for the ultra-hard steel of top Asian and German cutlery. Cleans up easily with soap and water or stone oil. I recently ordered a second one, but only because the first was stolen! This thing will be the last "honing steel" you ever buy.

I have a few very good knives, that I keep up after every use. This sharpening rod, has kept my knives razor sharp. I was even able to revive a good knife that I had let go too long.

Pro's:

Very easy to sharpen my knives, and keep them sharp.

Cons:

1. Metal tends to wear off of the knife and onto the ceramic, making the ceramic less coaese, and therefore not able to sharpen anymore. You have to wipe down the sharpening rod each time you use it, or it will become less useful.

2. No instructions to tell you about the best way to use the rod, or how to care for and maintain the rod.

Suggestions:

1. If you don't know how to sharpen a knife properly (I just learned myself), go to youtube and watch some how to's.

2. Practice on a knife you do not care about at first to get the feel of a ceramic sharpenning rod, especially If you have expensive knives and do not want to ruin them.

The quality of this sharpener is on par with the Wusthof knives themselves. First class. I was struggling with getting a good edge from the standard steel sharpener. Several passes on the ceramic unit brought the knives back to factory sharpness. This is a must for those people serious about keeping their expensive Wusthof blades sharp!

Much more sharpening friction and it actually sharpens. Nothing else to say that other reviews don't.

Togiharu Inox Steel Gyutou

Togiharu Inox Steel GyutouThis is one of the best kitchen knives I have used to date. The craftsmanship is superb, the knife is very light and well balanced, a perfect combination if you work in a professional kitchen all day. The edge of the blade is razor sharp and seems to hold an edge very well, and when it dose loose its edge it is brought back very easily. The only negative is that the blade is very fragile which is to be expected with a knife like this so you have to be very cautious not to drop it or hit the tip on anything as it will break very easily. Korin's customer service is awesome, I actually mistakenly ordered the wrong Saya for this knife but after a quick phone call to Korin they sent me the correct one right away.

Kitchenaid Sandwich Spreader - Red

Kitchenaid Sandwich Spreader - RedI purchased this hoping it would be a "flexible" style spreader for bagels. I.e. so it would glide over the bread more smoothly. This is pretty much a solid steel knife and does not flex at all. A bit disappointing. Otherwise it does the job. I suspect a cheaper model would have spread / flexed better.

Tuftop Spring Creek Run Cutting Board

Tuftop Spring Creek Run Cutting Board Size: SmallThis is a great product. The image is absolutely beautiful and the tempered glass is very nice and strong. We haven't acually used it as a cutting board as of yet, but we love it! It sits on our kitchen counter as decor. I also like the fact that I can sit extremely hot things on it. . . . right out of the oven. I definitely give it 2 thumbs up!

I'm a professional chef ,and you would never believe that chef's use knives like this, but we do.

There are some chef's that use expensive brands and styles, but this is a real workhorse.

Why?

They stay relatively sharp, compared to how much they are used. I use it to break down lamb legs, about 5 per day.

They are economical.

Comfortable [this is the most overlooked quality].

You do not need expensive Japanese or German knives to do the job. They have there place, don't get me wrong.

This knife [under 30 bucks] will do the job no problem. are

Victorinox knives are very proven, don't be fooled by the cheap looks, they are only made to do one job, work.

Sabatier 8 Inch Forged Carbon Steel Chef Knife Made in France

Sabatier 8 Inch Forged Carbon Steel Chef Knife Made in FranceFirst let me say the price of $55.00 was the best I found and these were shipped fast. (The name Sabatier is not protected by patent. Sabatier knives are made by a number of companies including China and really the 4 Star Elephant brand are the nearest in quality to these). I bought a set of 4-6-8-and 10 inch. These knives do have a slight curve to the edge so you can dice or slice with them. I liked these well enough to buy my daughter a set. These knives have a RC of 54-56 and while may be considered a soft steel it's also easier to sharpen, plus holds an edge pretty well. These are carbon steel (not stainless) and will develop a patina or will also rust If not hand washed and dried, then vegetable oil applied. Truthfully I believe any good knife should be hand washed, even stainless can rust and handles crack. I prefer carbon steel knives for kitchen work . Now I'm 69 years old and own 200 plus knives (stainless and carbon steel) for hunting and kitchen work (some hand and custom made), plus own a number of sharpening systems. Many stainless knives sold today are junk (cheap ones won't hold or take an edge) and good stainless knives will be harder to sharpen due to the alloys used. I'm not a novice when it comes to knives. I'm very satisfied with this brand of Sabatier, have found they do take a good edge and hold it well. I also have three 4 star Elephant Brand Sabatiers, two of steel forged in the 1930's (sold as historic knives) and one of new forged steel. The two historic older forged will match these in edge holding, but the modern one doesn't match them. I really didn't expect that and I know a lot of people like the Elephant Brand, so many will disagree. (Both brands in my view are better than the German Knives, yet generally cheaper in price) Fit and finish on these are good, did notice one had slight grind marks on the top edge, but not bad. Most wouldn't even notice it. But one of my Elephant Brand historic knives did too. That doesn't effect use though. The blades are thinner than some Chef Knives, they are lighter than many, well balanced, but for most of us in home kitchen use, these are great. Handles on the smaller knives are larger than most making them easy to use too. The only kitchen knives I have and rate better are 40+ year old Carbon Steel American made, Wear-Ever and some Clyde Knives. I don't believe anyone has ever matched those in quality, nor do they now. This review is just my opinion and some will disagree and that's OK and why we have many knife companies. Hope this review helps someone and I tried to be very honest.

I have a fondness for old carbon steel knives, and was intrigued when I saw these K Sabatiers listed as such a great price. Based on research, and on the reviews on the 10-inch version of this same knife, I bought a 4-inch, 6-inch, and 8-inch version. I am VERY pleased with these knives, and will probably go ahead and order a 10-inch as well. They were fairly sharp upon arrival, but a quick trip to my professional knife man for a pre-use touchup turned them into razors. Care must be taken, remember, to wipe these occasionally during use, to wash and dry immediately, and even wipe with a bit of oil, as they WILL rust and discolor.

If you like carbon steel knives, trust these. These are the real K Sabatier. You won't be disappointed.

This is the only reasonably priced well-made carbon steel knife available ANYWHERE, including France (where it is made)--yup, even including Dehillerin. I've ordered several of these in different sizes now, for myself (US) and sister-in-law (France). There are some very high-priced "celebrity chef'" ones out there, with damascus-steel blades, exotic wood handles, etc., but for everyday use by a good but unfamous cook, these are perfect. Lovely edge, weight, and balance--everything you'd expect from a real carbon steel knife.

I recently bought a set of these Sabatier-K knives a 4" paring, as well as the 6, 8, and 10 inch chef knives.

I'm very pleased with them. As I read on some reviews, most needed some slight sharpening, except my 4 inch was quite sharp out of its shipping sleeve. I like their light weight, feel, and balance. They are fairly thin compared to most German chef knives. The 8 inch chef only weighs about 6.4 oz... The spine did have a relatively hard 90 degree edge. I sanded one down a bit with a little sand paper, but decided why bother on the others, at least for now, my hand is never there. I also noticed the rare, odd grind mark on the spine, which tells me they are hand made, something I like in this day of robotic automation. I am using DMT 8" diamond block to sharpen, which are scary fast. Overall these K Sabatier's fit and finish is top shelf. You do need to take care of them drying, occasionally oiling, but don't fret over common patina spots that develop, its normal. Just don't let them rust!

It is a bit hard to find such well priced, quality high carbon steel knives these days, but these are the real deal, along with their brass riveted POM handles. And I prefer the brass rivets to the stainless steel ones pictured on the Sabatier-K (Aine Perrier) website. The handles are a nice size, even on the small four inch. I think my six inch is my favorite, perhaps the eight, I can't really decide. I enjoy looking at them on my wall magnet and watching their patina grow. They are real pleasure to use... You won't be disappointed.

One last thought... I would use a smooth, polished sharpening steel, not the coarse one. F Dicks makes an inexpensive one (Pack House) with nice german steel. One is suppose to very gently, slowly steel these carbons, at an angle a few degrees over their edge angle. One or two strokes (alternating on each side) is all that is needed, and you might steel them everytime or every other time you use them. I recommend not using a diamond or ceramic sharpening steel with these authentic Sabatier knives.

Chicago Cutlery Onyx 10-Piece Knife Set

Chicago Cutlery Onyx 10-Piece Knife SetFeb-2012: I was given a set of these 5 years ago as a wedding present. The knives cut very nicely. However, the handles have started cracking on all the black and metal knives. No problems with the steak knives. I have contacted the company requesting they be replaced under warranty.

Mar-2012 Update: The company backs the life-time warranty on these knives. The company send me a brand new set of knives, including a new wooden block, completely free. Great customer service experience.

I normally dont spend much money on knives but decided it was time to get a decent set. after reading reviews from all over the net i decided to give these a try. I have had them for a handful of months now and i can say they are great. takes much less pressure to cut through anything so that infact makes these knives safer to use then lower quality ones. they are stylish and look nice sitting on the counter. every piece is well balanced and i noticed this right off the bat while using them. anyone in the market for a new knife set should give this set a look.

This is my first set of "quality" knives that I've actually picked out and bought on my own. I bought the set from a local department store. I did not intend to buy these knives, but I came across them while browsing for knife sets just to get some estimates, and I ended up with them in my cart. I hardly get a chance to cook and really just wanted a set for decoration and for special occasions. But, I found this set to be a great starter set. Right out of the box the knives were sharp and they feel pretty well balanced; they also have a pretty decent weight. So far, I have used one of the steak knives to cut a sandwich...so far, so good :-). For the price and for occasional use for a novice...GET THEM!!

Chicago Cutlery Woodworks Bamboo Boards

Chicago Cutlery Woodworks 14-Inch by 5-Inch by 3/4-Inch Bamboo BoardI have owned two of the smaller bamboo cutting boards for longer with no issue. After about 7 months the sides on this one started to come unglued and warp up. I called World Kitchen, LLC to inquire about a replacement. It seems as though World Kitchen, LLC, makers of Bakers's Secret, Chicago Cutlery, Corelle, Corningware, Ekco, Magnalite, Olfa, Olo, Pyrex, Revere and Visions doesn't offer a warranty on there cutting boards. According to the representative this is due to the fact that they can't control how they are cared for which can affect how they last. Isn't any product just like this. Can a vacuum cleaner manuf. or anyone else for that matter control how you care for the product which directly could cause a warranty issue? No thats why you make things good enough to last through that.

Background. I have been creating wood furniture for many many years, I know how to care for wood and I know how to keep it looking new and yes i could easily fix this but why? And furthermore not everyone has that ability.

The side pieces to this cutting board are completely unnecessary. If they didn't put those on their that would potentially greatly reduce the chance of something happening like this. However they may be there to keep the bamboo in the middle strait. I'm not familiar with the properties of bamboo in that way. So if that is the case then securing the sides on via dowels or wafers would have been ideal to insure a long lasting quality product. However they are just glued on and expected to hold through being wet and dried on a daily basis ... right.

The representative told me that she has had the same cutting board for many years with no issue. I replied with I've had two smaller ones too for a few years and no issue so obviously this is a manufacturing defect. In the in did not care.

The surface of this board is nice though and easy on knife edges. I much prefer bamboo over any other wood for cutting. I can only advise this product if you have the ability to fix this issue if it arises or have the disposable income to fork over money for a new cutting board soon down the road.

Works great and came fast. Just make sure you get the bamboo oil. Without it, when it's cleaned and dry, it looks dusty...almost like someone let milk dry on it.

This cutting board was splintered before I even had a chance to use it. After one use it was so bad that I'm sure there were splinters in my food. It is not the item pictured and the size is just okay. I really didn't want to buy an expensive bamboo cutting board but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I knew this product would have to be hand-washed even before I considered buying it, so that was not a factor in purchasing it. It matches the dinnerware I have, gives it an old-fashioned look, and I only use it for spring and early summer anyway. I use fiesta ware flatware the rest of the year, and yes, I wash that by hand also. It just lasts so much longer, no matter what the manufacturer specs are. I mean seriously, is handwashing a few pieces of flatware every day that big a deal? And while I can see it's not the sturdiest flatware going, that's what serveware and steak knives are for. This is for eating, not cooking, serving, or prepping. And it does a great job doing just that. And it's gorgeous.

Victorinox Forschner Upswept Stainless Steel Lamb Skinning Knife with Black Fibrox Handle, 5 Inch

Victorinox Forschner Upswept Stainless Steel Lamb Skinning Knife with Black Fibrox Handle, 5 InchThis is one great fixed blade knife for use around house, farm and outdoors. Holds a fine edge and is easily sharpened. Only drawback is one needs to make a sheath or have one made. Had a custom Kydex sheath made for this knife and bought a dozen of these Lamb Skinner Knives. Use them to do home butchering of beef, hogs and wild hoofed game. They do wear out after about 80-100 sharpenings. That's why I purchase them in bulk. Handle of this knife stays comfortable even in sub zero temps and cleans easily. The knife has a good strong back, but allows for a bit of flexing. I have used more expensive knives and having them not measure up to the quality, durability and economy of this knife. This is one "sleeper" of a knife!

Messermeister 34 Pocket Chef's Satchel with Large Storage Pocket, Black

Messermeister 34 Pocket Chef's Satchel with Large Storage Pocket, BlackI am in the buisness so I wanted a bag that can hold alot of tools. It has alot of space, nice construction but the knives don't fit!! It has a ton of elastic places for tools but they are sewn so tight that I can't get my filet knife much less my 8in. chef's knife.I could cut through the band but it would mean that I'm using two places for one knife and I might ruin the construction of the bag. I'm diappointed and I plan on selling this bag at the culinary college but worse I still have no chef bag.The pics you can find of this bag show knifes in the knife slots but that's not possible.

Best knife bag I've purchased. I've always been a big fan of the roll-up knife bags from Messermeister. But with my growing collection of kitchen tools I had no space for them. Until I got this bag.

The only down side of this bag is that the knives don't fit handle side down. But if there is a edge guard on your knife (which there always should be) put it blade side down and it should stay.

The case is alright. It holds my 12 inch knives without a problem, my only complaints are that the pockets are too small so if you have a lot of German cutlery or other big handled knives, they might not fit and even though it has lots of pockets for storage, when you store a few chef's knives a lot of the pockets become unusable.

Paring Pro Surgical Stainless Steel Paring Knife

Paring Pro Surgical Stainless Steel Paring KnifeAs an engineer with a masters in mechanical engineering, I am very skeptical about any wild claims about materials and their strength and surface toughness(to a normal person this is called "durability"). I was shown this knife by a rep at a presentation at walmart, making claims that these "forever knifes" do not dull even when cutting steel. Lets just turn this into a list of impossible claims that I noticed with my Pro-Paring knife:

1) An obvious rule of thumb, two materials made of the same material will when rubbed together, will result in degradation of both though at different rates. THEREFORE, STEEL DULLS STEEL and the claim made by the rep and the television where an aluminum can was cut are both false, as aluminum has similar surface toughness to steel

2) If there is even any "surgical stainless steel" in this blade, it is very minimal. Surgical steel will not bend but only 1mm when a force is placed on the end due to heat treatment, it will break. This is not the case with the Pro-Paring knife, I can easily bend it to 1cm with minimal force.

3) I have experience in machining, when machining is done right you cannot notice the individual machine lines on the blade, You can only tell that it is machined from the partially dull appearance of cutting portion of the blade. With this blade, I can literally count the machine lines on it, indicating a low precision and accuracy. Since blades cut by providing a moderate force over a minuscule area, this blade's cutting ability is limited due to its inaccuracy and varying areas of the cross section of the blade.

4) Claim to be dishwasher safe, I just have to laugh at this one. There is clearly just enough elemental chromium in this metal to consider this "stainless", but by no means is it stainless at the high temperatures from within the dishwasher.

LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT BELIEVE THE COMMENT THAT SAYS IT IS SO GREAT THEY BOUGHT SOME FOR FRIENDS. No one in their right minds would purposely give this product to their friends unless they weren't their friends. I hate that companies do this so I wrote this entire essay to stop consumer spending on TV products that are complete engineering failures, while claiming to be an engineering innovation.

It was an OK little knife. It wasnt very sharp. The quality was lacking a bit. But it was OK!!! I peeled potatoes with it. I like the size and handle. I will use it but there are better knives out there. But for the price you can get by with it.

Tojiro DP 3.5-inch Paring Knife

Tojiro DP 3.5-inch Paring KnifeI purchased this knife as a Christmas present for myself two years ago and it's become my favorite knife. It feels well in my hand, it stays sharp, and cuts with ease. Some handles are difficult, if not downright unfriendly, for those of us who have arthritis in our hands, but this knife works.

Black & Decker CO85 Spacemaker Can Opener, White

Black & Decker CO85 Spacemaker Can Opener, WhiteI totally agree with the previous reviewer, this opener has no power and even sounds like it's agonizing over the chore of opening the lid. It is definitely hard to get a can started since the cutting edge will not lift up enough to be able to hook the can edge into it, and forget about even trying to see the blade while doing said placement!

After only a week's use, it stalled numerous times while trying to open a large tuna can size. The can gets jammed and the motor continues to whine, and it took herculean effort to get the can back out of its grip. I had to unplug it several times to keep it from burning out its motor while I tried to free the can.

I cannot believe the poor design and jamming problems from the B & D namesake, much less the highly touted Spacemaker line of appliances over the years. It's definitely back to a Proctor Silex like I had before and this piece of junk is outta here!

We had a 10-year-old Spacemaker Can Opener that we liked. It died recently, and we purchased this model at the large superstore near our home. I am a handyman (we built our own home) and this new model will NOT mount properly on European-style kitchen cabinets (with a full-overlay door)! I could make a shim to mount it perhaps 3" below the cabinet, but that would be ridiculous. The mounting for this uses four screws through the base of the cabinet, but there are two front screws within 1/2" of the front of the unit. And the lever swings up 1" ABOVE the top of the unit to insert a can. So the front two mounting screws would need to be mounted into the bottom edge of the cabinet door, or the can opener cannot be used! The printed installation instructions do point out to be sure that the can opener is mounted close enough to the front of the cabinet so that the lever will clear the front of the door. But in doing this, the front two screws cannot be used. So it is going back to the store. What is wrong with B&D Engineering?

I replaced a 10 year old undercounter with this one. The wheel is small and uses a fixed cutter instead of a rotating one. As result cuts are slow, jagged, and often stalls the motor. Very hard to get a can started. Its going in the trash

This is the third or fourth under the cabinet Black & Decker can opener we have purchased and installed and is probably the best of all. It is easy for my wife to operate, the cutter attachment removes easily for cleaning and reinstalls easily. We hope they continue to make this model.

Rada Cutlery Super Parer Knife, Made in USA (Pack of 2)

Rada Cutlery Super Parer Knife, Dishwasher Safe Black Handle, Made in USABrought some of these at a great price, they are pretty nice.

With these, I haven't been using any of my older ones since I

received these. You do need to be very careful with these because

they are very sharp! I have had to use a few Band-aids since using

these!! I can't even remember having to use any Band-aids with the

old ones!! And yes, I do like them even more because they are

American Made. Mostly all the older ones I have are not and they

are very dull, even when I went to sharped them. So I will put

them in the trash! "Out" with the old and "In" with the New.........

I do know what brand to buy next time "Rada"!!! If you buy these

make sure you have some Band-aids handy!!!

These are absolutely the best knives I have ever owned or used. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. They are heavy duty and very sharp. I also purchased the sharpener and it is a must. So easy to use.

Rada makes an inexpensive, good knife for everyday use. I like them because they can go in the dishwasher, feel good in my hand, and last a long time. I have had these knives over a year, and they are still my favorite everyday knives. How many times have you pulled your expensive Cutco or Henkels knives out of your drawer where and worried about using them, washing them, or damaging them until they are back in the drawer? Never the case with these knives. I have multiple knives of different sizes and types and continue to build my collection--they're great!

For the price, how could I go wrong? Very thin blades which is what I wanted and good for everyday use. I'd buy again when I need more knives.

Wüsthof GOURMET 3 Piece Knife Set

Wüsthof GOURMET 3 Piece Knife SetThey seem well balanced and sharp. The steel is of a high enough quality where as the higher priced models are compared it gets difficult to really notice the difference in quality.

Would recommend.
