I started a job at a fish My only quamarket place cutting fish. lms with this knife was that the blade is slightly wider than i would have liked, and just a touch bit more flexible than i would have liked. But this works great for filleting any fish that requires a flexible blade. came out of the box sharp enough to start it on the job, and touches up nicely. It is a bit too flexible to skin any fillets over 5 or so inches because the tip of the blade starts to bow up. but for this price i can't complain! great knife recommended to everyone.Victorinox Swiss Classic 8-Inch Fillet Knife, with Straight Flexible Blade

Henckels International Eversharp Pro Stainless Steel Steak Knives, Set of 4
My old steak knives were flimsy and worn so when I shopped for new ones I wanted knives that were solidly made by a top-rated company like Henckels. The price was right so I bought two sets. I think I should have bought 3 sets. They are always sharp and my guests remark on the quality of the knives at meals. I even use them sometimes when I am doing prep work. These would be a great gift item too. This is a nice set of steak knives. I am not an advocate for serrated knives, but these knives are great. Henkels in my opinion is loosing their place in the knife business while progressively lowering their quality with inferior lines. I would prefer to have high carbon. Regardless of this, I purchased two sets. Stainless is probabally more practical though as you can dish wash with other silverware. Good feel knives and truly sharp. Rate at 4.5 to 5 stars.Buy J.A. The design incorporates Micro-serrations that catch pull and tear at what ever you are trying to cut. I have owned 4 sets for a couple of years. They sat in the drawer while we continued to use the 20 year old knives they were supposed to replace. This weekend I pulled them out and took then down to the shop where I ground off the serrations and sharpened the newly formed edge. The knives are now great! The knives are easy to hold. Handles are thick. The serated portion of the blade is small and at the tip. This takes some getting used to. Once accomplished, the knives are great. I ordered a second set.Want J.A. I love this...no searching for correct hole just insert knife anywhere anyway.Much better for the blades not scraping against wood. This was a Christmas gift for my wife as, she was reluctant to purchase on her own. I like this new, slotless design. The all black color is the perfect contrast to our marble countertop island. I would recommend.

I have a friend who had one and it looked and worked great, but the two we got were both cracked. finally gave up on it. might try another seller. The block I received seemed very well made and was attractive. However, my longest knives (anything over 8 inches) were not fully sheathed, which I consider dangerous. The description should note the maximum length of knife it will accommodate safely. Pros offered to split the shipping costs with me if I wanted to return, but it wasnt worth the hassle.Great addition to the kitchen! Replaces those ol boring knife blocks! Ease to clean, use and a great way to safely store knives / kitchen accessories.Prepara Salad Prep Set
I bought this set because I wanted the rocker knife, but have found the long chopper much more useful. The long knife works well on Romaine, iceburg, and bib lettuce; the rocker really only works well with single leaves, like spinach. However, I use them nearly every day and they're holding up well after almost a year of constant use and daily trips through the dishwasher.Works great. The rounded one will cut pizza with ease. I am considering these as holiday gifts. This a must have for your kitchen.Buy Prepara Salad Prep Set Now
Great for veggies and rough cutting for salads. you can let the kids help with the cutting if they use this set, knowing that they would have to try very hard, to injure themselves. This set allows for more family time with the kids, sharing in the prep for breakfast, lunch or dinner. These are great for chopping vegtables, and fruit, too. They work well especially with lettuce, avoiding brown spots when you have left overs.I thought I would love this based on the reviews, but I must not be a kitchen expert yet. I revert back to my metal knife and have only used these twice. But again, I'm no pro in the kitchen, so I might have bought "over my head" if you know what I mean!Meyerco Sharpen-It Knife Sharpner With Sheath
This is an item that has had such good reviews that I finally decided to get one. What I like most about the product is the compact size, which fits in a black nylon sheath and can be carried on ones belt. This is an easy sharpener to operate with two separate sharpening wheels: course and fine, and one has only to pass the knife through the wheels to get a very sharp blade. It also comes with a rat-tail shapening file, and because I've never owned one of these before, I started looking for bread knives to see how well that sharpener worked. Folks, it does a good job. I've read that people use it at home with kitchen knives, and yes that works, though I prefer my Crock Stick sharpener for that. Because I do a lot of traveling, however, I find the Meyerco is much easier to take with me when I'm on the road, as the ceramic rods of the Crock stick are fragile and expensive to repair if broken. I have no reservations about recommending this product, because since I purchase one, I've been a happy camper. Inexpensive and very effective product.I rediscovered the pleasure of cooking with sharp knives.
Unlike a honing steel this will really sharpen blunt knives (removing some metal) and not just unbend the edge.

LamsonSharp 3-1/2-Inch Forged Paring Knife
It's such a pleasure to hold a nice knife in your hands. I am not a gourmet chef and I can't say whether a gourmet chef would think this is an exquisite knife, but I have two complaints with all the knives I can buy in any store locally to me: 1) they are junk that doesn't hold an edge or last over the years, and 2) they're made in countries associated with low quality workmanship. In contrast, the Lamson Sharp knives I've bought (and I have a rack full of them, right beside my rack of cheap knives I am wearing out) take and hold a good edge, and they're made in the USA. You get what you pay for.Have own Lamson knives for a few years now, and love the weight and quality of the steel. American made at its best.Buy LamsonSharp 3-1/2-Inch Forged Paring Knife Now

The quality feel, construction, fit and finish are in line with the other LamsonSharp forged knives I purchased. However, this particular knife arrived less than razor sharp. This grinder is very powerful it chews up pork and beef with little effort. I was amazed after dealing with small hand cranked models or even my kitchen aid. A manual would have been great, it was a pain to figure out how to put it together and take it apart for cleaning. I haven't used the part that allows you to motorize it but it seems pretty easy if you need that much power. Make sure you have a way to bolt this down it needs a solid base.Read Best Reviews of Meat Grinder #32 W/Pulley, Meat & Sausage Stuffer Here
I was surprised at how fast this grinder chewed up meat. After a more expensive electric grinder with a small auger, this equipment was a welcome relief. The prior comment about solid mounting was well taken, as it could well grind 500 pounds of meat an hour. But that is a lot of force, so mount it securely. Don't try this clamped to the kitchen table.Want Meat Grinder #32 W/Pulley, Meat & Sausage Stuffer Discount?
I love this grinder, but after stuffing sausage for the first time with it, I realize why it has a wheel that can be motorized. My arms were tired!!!Good grinder, just make sure you mount it securely and keep your arm muscles in shape.I am from Missouri on this product. (It is going to have to "Show Me".
The first grinder came and the main bearing at the business end of the grinder was off center. I thought I could fix it myself but upon examination saw the casting itself was off center.
There was also a 3/4 inch crack through the grinding end of the casting. I sent it back.
PRI industries Inc. was EXTREMELY helpful in returning this product. I received a return shipping label the same day I inquired about a return. A new unit was promptly shipped and arrived within days of return of the original unit.
Now the problem: The new unit is also cast off center, one side of the casting is 1/4 inch thick, the opposite side is 5/8 inch. (a cheap charlie Chinese product for sure [no offense Charlie!])
I have not used this product for grinding but other reviews praised it's grinding capability so perhaps it will do the job it was bought for even if the quality of the product is not as good as I was hoping for.
Overall I will wait and see so far I'm not impressed.
Zhuhai Premium Ceramic Knife Set Includes 4" Paring Knife, 5 1/2" Chef's Knife, 6" Chef's Knife and
I bought this set to see what all the hype was about regarding ceramic knives. When I first pulled the knives from their package, one dropped on our tile floor-no chips : ) I have used them several times now and am so pleased with them! They make it so easy for me to cut through ANYthing-and clean up with no fuss. This set in particular is nice because these 3 knives are sized perfectly for anything I want to cut and after rinsing and drying, they slip easily into the clear block. Granted I am not a professional chef, but for day to day meal preparation, these are perfect-and the price was extraordinary for the quality! I highly recommend them. Anyone other than professionals will find them a great purchase! The knives are impressive with their sharp edges & the Block they come with. My wife was cutting a squash with the Chef's Knife & it broke off at the handle in the squash, so if you stay with softer foods, they will probably be OK. If you try cutting harder foods like melons, squashes & etc, they will probably break. We bought these knives nearly a year ago and they are still quite sharp. I got tired being unable to get a good edge on my steel knives and thought to try ceramic while not wanting to invest a great deal in the experiment. We don't treat these roughly, but use them daily for cutting just about everything except frozen foods or around bones--they are great on fruit, veggies and for slicing unfrozen meat. The knife block keeps them from being damaged in the knife drawer. We hand wash. Just don't bang them into metal objects and do not hack or pry the way you might with a big butcher's knife. Over the year we have managed to put a couple of very small nicks in the largest blade, but it still is the sharper than a new steel knife. Yes, I would buy this or a similar product again and did buy another set to give as a Christmas gift.UPDATE: In daily use for a year and a half and still sharp. This is my first ceramic knife set and I have to say that I am not disappointed at all. I love the 3 different sizes, and I really love the holster for them because I already have a knife block and this takes up hardly any space. The knives were quite sharp and work very well on a wide range of items (but I won't use them on meat, only fresh veggies and such).I got a ceramic knife years ago, and after using it EVERYDAY for about 5 years the handle cracked and the blade came out. I was really upset, and immediately began looking for a replacement. I don't know what brand of knife I had, and I'm not even sure where I got it (But I think it may have been QVC). So after a few days of looking online I decided to give this set a try. The blades of these knives are noticeable thinner than my original, so I didn't imagine they would last long before breaking. And within just a few weeks, the blades started to get dull. I had trouble slicing a ripe tomato, and that NEVER happened with my original knife even after years of use. And now one of the blades has a small chip, and I can't recall how it was damaged. Overall, these are just kinda cheap. I'm going to have to keep looking for a quality replacement. In the meantime, I'll just keep using these until they give out (which shouldn't be long from now). I am please that I didn't waste too much money on this set.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 6-Inch High Carbon Stainless-Steel Chef's Knife
We got one as a wedding present ten years ago. The quality is superb. With a twice-a-year honing, this knife remains incredibly sharp, is well balanced in your hand, and slices with ease even the toughest meats. With careful handling, the blade and handle have not worn at all, and will probably outlive me. One caveat for those who do not have high-carbon steel knives: they do require more care (ex. don't put in dishwasher, don't let blade touch other metal, don't use crude electric sharpener). Don't let the babysitter try to pry-off bottle caps (sadly, the matching 3" paring knife met its end this way). If you appreciate fine quality in this age of throw-away, this is a knife one could be happy with forever.I bought this one today, my first high-end cutlery purchase. It's so worth the price. I spent a lot of time in the store handling the different brands of knives, getting a feel for their construction and how they sit in the hand, and this one was definitely the best. The blade is a thing of beauty, and the handle is incredibly comfortable, not likely to hurt your hand a bit after long periods of continuous cutting. When I got it home, it performed just as beautifully as I expected. I'll definitely be saving up for more Henckels Four-Star knives.Buy Zwilling J.A. This has been my favorite knife for years -I had it so long I can't recall when I got it. I already had an excellent set of Sabatier knives, but the handles were a bit thin and had somewhat sharp corners. One day I had occasion to use a Hencklels Four-star, and instantly fell in love with the voluptuous handle. It felt soooo good in my hand. Note that I have largeish hands, if you have smaller hands this might not be the knife for you.I already had a 10" chef's knife, so I chose this 6" "sandwich" knife (that's what they called it back then). It has been my workhorse for years. I can put an edge on it that will shave hairs off my arm (but not quite off my face :-). Alas yesterday the blade snapped while cutting a sweet potato. No bending or twisting, just pressing down pretty hard, and bing! Mind you it had received daily use for well over a decade, if not two.
Now that I have to replace it, I think I'll go with an 8" blade. This 6" size was just a tad small for general purpose use, and I have plenty of other smaller knifes. I may get the 8" equivalent of exactly this knife, but am also considering the W'sthof Grand Prix II 7-Inch Fine Edge Santoku Knife. I'm hoping that design will keep my knuckles from bumping into the cutting board.
Here's a free tip: when pushing food around on the cutting board, use the BACK side of the knife. Don't drag the sharp edge across the board.I had said knife 20 years, but replace it because a home-care-giver had stolen it! (see...they know a good knife when they see it!)

I just wanted to write this review to let everyone know that this knife is very good and worth the money you'll spend, however in my opinion Henckel knives have one flaw. I can't stand the little metal piece at the bottom of the blade. It's a sort of finger guard they built into the design. I cooked for a living for three years and had the opportunity to use everything from a 25.00 plastic grip knife we used to bust up lobsters all the way to hand forged Japanese $500 knives. If you are super picky about your knives that little piece of metal will drive you nuts because it hinders the sharpening of the last inch or so of the blade. Overall I would get a Global knife if your looking for something in the same price range. It is a lighter knife but excellent quality. If your looking for something with enough heft to chop a Volkswagen bug in half the Henckel still might be for you.Sterlingcraft 72pc Heavy Gauge Surgical Stainless Steel Flatware Set 24k Gold-Plated Trim

7 STARS ! Having been a Head Chef (4 STAR Hotel in Hampton Court Henry VIII's Palace) in a previous life, I know the benefits of using a highly efficient tool to make a boring repetitive task bearable. After thoroughly researching the market, I came a cross this little beauty. It even makes peeling spuds FUN ! Shush ! don't tell anyone I said that, as I don't want to be thought of as SAD. It does its job superbly well, and is a joy to use.NOTE: In use, I found the swivel peeler to be better for rounder items such as Spuds, and the Y peeler better for longer items such as Carrots and Parsnips. I laughed when my mother said that one potato peeler was better than another. But then I tried using hers and I stopped laughing. If you normally use a peeler (that is, if you are not a tried-and-true knife-wielding peeler) you should try one of these. Borrow a friend's if you must. I don't know why the handle should make such a difference; you'd think the blade was the important part. Maybe the blade is better quality too, who knows. But it makes a world of difference to the person who is peeling, so much easier to peel, better control, whatever. I don't know. But the difference is amazing. I have one now, you betcha! After you get one for yourself, you might be like me and end up buying them for every bridal shower's wishing well. This is just a fantastic peeler at a very reasonable price. Has a very comfortable handle that gives you nice control. The metal construction is a nice improvement over the original OXO peeler: its potato eyer is much sharper and easier to use. The blade is ultra sharp also. Not sure if I'll ever need to replace the blade, but its a nice option to have.I've been using a dull old Kitchenaid vegetable peeler for more than a year now, and got fed up with it. The appeal (HA!) of this peeler is that the blade is replaceable. So it might get dull in a year, yes, but I won't have to shell out ten bucks for another peeler, I'll be able to shell out slightly less (hopefully!) for a replacement blade. And this blade is SO sharp. It seems much sharper than the Kitchenaid peeler's blade was, so hopefully it won't get dull as quickly.
Richardson Sheffield 6-Piece Steak Knife Set
These are decent knives for the money. Sharper than they look at first glance and seem to have nice solid handles...I like the straight cut handle better than the traditional curved handle on many other sets. Good price and quality for a basic set of steak knives. The knives seem to shred meats instead of slice. Miss the smooth feel of cutting meats. After approximately 2 runs through the dishwasher, they have spots.Pricing was right. Next time I will invest more money for better product.

The holder is not as shown on picture. It is only a short sleeve doesn't go all the way up to top of boards. Other than that the boards are fine. Countertop tidier. Material of cutting boards not heavy duty so first use shows deep cuts already. All the pictures of this product except for one customer-supplied photo do not show the actual product. We bought this because our daughter has one and this one appeared to be the same product -HOWEVER the cutting boards are not fully enclosed in their container so the outside boards are nearly fully exposed. These are pretty good knives for the price. Kitchen Knife Set 80021/005
Bought these cause they were on sale and had planned to give them as gifts. Got frustrated with the Kitchen Aid and Martha Stewart sets from Macy's. Opened them up and they were remarkably good. It has been six months and they are still as good as the day we began using them. Keep them out of the dishwasher. They have wood handles and that will ruin them. But they cut, cut, cut. Good knives! After many years of dealing with really lousy kitchen knives that constantly needed sharpening (and even then, they would go dull fast), I found the Tramontina knives by accident -and I have used nothing else since. I even ordered the same knives to give to my sister for Christmas, since she has had the same bad experiences with knives. The Tramontinas. which have tiny, tiny serrations along the blade, are startlingly good -so good, in fact, that you deliberately have to be extra conscious of using them because they're so tremendously sharp. You cannot go wrong with these. -The set of knives was delivered to me promptly by the Amazon vendor and I was very happy with everything.Edgeware 50217 Diamond Pro Pull-Thru Knife and Scissor Sharpener
I bought this product for one reason: I had several pair of scissors that were dull and needed sharpening. I was tired of buying a new pair of scissors every time the original pair dulled to the point of non-usability. This contraption is not hard to use, and the price is low, but what I did not know is that the instructions would be minimal and as a result, though my blades were sharpened, they were also chipped and damaged on the blade toward the, ahem, fulcrum of the instrument. Now I am certain that with time and practice I will figure out how to use this tool without causing damage to my scissors, but out of the box it is less than perfect unless you already know what you are doing. And that is why it only got three stars. This is a must have for those people who don't want to hone their knives. It is easy to use and puts a fine edge on all types of knives, from paring to cleavers. I am the primary cook in our family and am very hard on the knives, but with this sharpener I can keep my knives very sharp with minimal effort. I now only infrequently use my sharpening steels. I essentially agree with what other reviewers have written (except that Mn is molybdenumMn is manganese, Mo is molybdenum). Are they of the superior craftsmanship of the Wusthof Classic line? No, they are not. But at a fraction of the price of Classic, you already knew they wouldn't be. The plastic handle and thinner steel do feel a bit on the cheap size when holding the knife, but they look great alongside the rest of our Wusthof cutlery (which is why my fiance and I bought them). And don't worry about performance; all meats that I've cut succumb nicely to the straight edge blades. What I can't comment on is the blades' longevity. We've only had them a short while, and I don't know how they'll hold their edge.My final word on them is that those who can afford the Classic line (and I truly wish I was one of them) should purchase the Classic. But for those who can't, don't be shy about purchasing Gourmet. You'll get what you pay for, and since you're paying for Wusthof, how disappointed can you be?Just received these knives and they seem to be a fine set of steak knives. However, I noticed that these gourmet series (with the exception of the 8" chef's knife), use different steel than their more expensive classic series. Specifically, the classic series uses "X50CrMn15" material, whereas these gourmet series uses "X46Cr13". The major difference being that X46Cr13 contains less carbon (0.5% vs. 0.46%) and that it does not contain Mn (molybdenum), which is needed for knives to be totally dishwasher safe. ...

Wusthof is a producer of quality knives, but double check your order, especially if you ordered more than one knife at a time. I have read many consumer reviews on the block set where consumers found that only a couple knives from the set were quality while the rest were not. I received a block set (8130) of Wusthof knives for Christmas. After close investigation, I noticed that most of the knives were not what I ordered. While I ordered the Gourmet line, most of the knives received were of much lesser quality. Only three knives were the actual gourmet line of knives as they are stamped with serial numbers. If your knives are stamped with a number beginning with "8", then chances are you received the incorrect knives in the set. Wusthof quality knives begin with the number four (including Grand Prix, Culinare, Gourmet, etc). I have contacted both the Food Network and Wusthof to make them aware of this issue. It appears there has been a problem in the shipping area of one of the two. The Food Network has been great when speaking with them. I want to make sure everyone has actually received what they have paid for. As far as the three Gourmet knives I received, they are very good quality. I sent the entire block back (paid for by the Food Network) and am looking forward to "playing" with my new set of Gourmet knives.Read Best Reviews of Wusthof Gourmet 4-Piece Steak Knife Set Here
I searched through Amazon looking at the different steak knives and their reviews. I decided on these because of the following: 1. They appeared to be of a medium vice entry quality; 2. They are non-serrated thereby allowing me to sharpen at home using my honing steel and/or knife sharpener; and 3. They go well with my mid-quality J. A. Henckels International Classic kitchen knives. I am not a knife expert, but an average person would be hard pressed to not like or find any material fault with these steak knives. I noticed one reviewer mention that they were a bit thinner than other Wusthof knives. However, I found them to be reasonably thick (they are not tinny) and quite satisfactory. They are steak knives, not kitchen knives. I feel this is a good quality product and am well satisfied with my purchase of them. I hope this review helps fellow Amazon customers because I know many of the reviews for steak knives are quite diverse.Want Wusthof Gourmet 4-Piece Steak Knife Set Discount?
These are by no means cheap knives. They are inexpensive relative to the quality they deliver. The knives I really wanted were also from Wusthof. Unfortunately, they were $180.00. So the decision was between a.) the best knives which will last a lifetime or b.) the best knives which will last 25 years for less than a third of the price. The gourmet series knives cut through steak like "buttah". They feel good and well balanced in the hand. The fact that it's not a full tang has no effect on the usefulness or performance so I am happy with these knives and recommend them to you if you want the best and if money IS an object.
