Hamilton Beach 76606Z Smooth Touch Can Opener, Black and Chrome

Hamilton Beach 76606Z Smooth Touch Can Opener, Black and ChromeI used to have a green and white Krups Open Master that opened cans in a simailar way. It was thrown out during a kitchen remodel and was later discontinued. I never liked the replacement can openers because the dirty can lid and cutting blade would sink into the food and contaminate it and just make a mess.

I just received the Hamilton Beach can opener a few minutes ago, but this 76606 works as well or better than the old Krups so far.

I'm not sure why this isn't the way all can openers work. I don't see the point of can openers that work the old fashioned way.

The video speaks for itself.

I loved my Krups Open Master 404 until it stopped working recently. I found that The Krups, which had NO BLADE that touched the food so as to leave food on the blade as with most canopeners, is no longer made or avaialbe except on ebay. So, I started looking to see what is now available. I tried some other brands. These "other brands" had the typical "blade" that cut into the top of the can and the blade TOUCHED the food inside the can. Thus, food was left ON the blade. To me, after using the Krups for 7 years, this was/is VERY unsanitary---having part of the juice or syrup of the food left to dry out and collect germs on the blade. The only way to avoid having food left on the "cutting blade" of most canopeners is to wash the blade EVERY time you open a can. This isn't difficult, but it takes a minute or two which seems like a lot of effort when you're trying to fix a meal for yourself or your family. Enter the Hamilton Beach 76606. THIS ONE DOES NOT GET ANY FOOD ON ANY BLADE. In fact, I didn't SEE any blade on it that touches the food! So, it's as good, or almost as good, as my old Krups. Praise the Lord! :o) boland7214@aol.

This is undoubtably the best electric can opener ever made. It cuts the lid along the side of the can under the beaded lip. It does a perfect job,it is quiet, and does not leave any metal shavings. It will also cut the lids that have pull ring tabs. This saves your fingers. I give this opener a 5 star score.

Everything written about this can opener on this site is true except!

I bought the unit after a lot of research and all the positive reviews. And they were all true excellent unit,....until shortly after the one year warranty expired (isn't that always the way.) Went to open a can it whirred, spun around, did all the usual stuff except the can wasn't opened. After a lot of looking and examining, it appeared the piercer/cutter blade was missing apparently broken off (altho I never found any pieces.)

I called Hamilton Beach after checking, the lady said there " were no replaceable parts in the unit." So, I've got a paperweight. I asked her what brand she suggested I buy next time around she said "well, H-B of course." I told her all my previous can openers had lasted 20 years or more and I replaced them just because I got sick of them. I didn't think one year's service with no way to replace the cutter was acceptable, so, despite my admiration of the unit, I'd have to look elsewhere.

Using an estimate of cans opened and the purchase price, I calculate the cost to open each can came out to more than 10 cents/can!

I favored the results of my research prior to purchase. After receiving it, I was impressed with the size & weight. It's easy on the eyes and I like the way it operates. Since I use a lot less in the way of canned goods than most people I know, I didn't actually try it out for several days. Once I did, my reaction was "wow!". I do believe I have the best can opener *ever*. If this unit holds up well over a protracted period of time, I'll remain a 'happy camper'. Now, for the reason I only gave it 4 stars i/o 5. Upon opening perhaps the 3rd or 4th can, I noticed something *very* disturbing. As I removed the lid, I spotted a very thin strand of metal (about 1-1/4 inches long) jutting out from the top of the can (perpendicular from the body of the can).

Promply removing it, I could only think that had it fallen *into* the contents of the can I might have ingested it! To better illustrate, I *could* have proceeded to empty the contents into a bowl or saucepan and had that metal fall off in the process. Hopefully, this won't happen again....but....anyone buying this can opener *should* be aware of the possibility & be vigilant in it's use. At this time, I really think this *is* the best one on the market and I'm darned glad to have it. Hope this helps anyone considering the purchase.

Alpha Stainless Steel Metal Handle 8 1/2 "Cleaver

Alpha Stainless Steel Metal Handle 8 1/2 'CleaverBig, heavy. I like it! Great price too. Gets right through the bone. Don't know why anyone would pay more for a cleaver.

This is a big knife. It is heavy and very sharp. I did not think it was this large from the picture. It took some getting use to it from my last cleaver, which I thought was big and heavy. This Alpha tops that last cleaver in the big and heavy category. I am not as fast with the Alpha on veggies, maybe with more practice. I have cut a whole chicken into pieces w/ bone-in and it worked fine. I would get the butcher to cut my ox tail. I don't cook with oxtail very often. If you want a sharp functional cleaver, this is good choice. It will scare those paring knife only people. Keep it away from the kids. I'm sure the Global or MAC is better, but why bother w/ the $$$.

Buy Alpha Stainless Steel Metal Handle 8 1/2 "Cleaver Now

This cleaver is fantastic. I bought it back in June and haven't sharpened it yet... it's still sharp enough to be painless on contact if one accidentally gets a body part in the way.

I use it to (primarily) cut up the whole chickens I buy from the Surprise Creek (Hutterite) Colony. I buy about 24 + chickens at a time and cut up approximately half that amount. I also use it to cut up whole turkeys (also purchased from the Colony) to debone them to make turkey burger.

This cleaver goes through the meat and the bone like a hot knife through butter.

Yeah, for some of the thicker bones I might have to whack a few times, or bang on the top of the cleaver with the heel of my palm to "help" it get through, but for the most part, it gets the job done in one swing.

I've also used it to cut up frozen beef, elk, and deer roasts, etc... Again, like buttah. Sliced through baby back pork ribs -no problem. :-)

I have not tried to cut up ox tail (as yet).

I think this is a fantastic cleaver for a really good buy (price is great). I'd take a pic of it to show how large it is compared to another recognizable item, but it's in the dishwasher being washed at the moment.

Yep. That's right. This sucker goes in the dishwasher, and the only thing I have to watch for is that it doesn't cut through the tines on the rack when I put it in (if I put it in upright instead of lying down).

I. LOVE. that it goes into the dishwasher. All stainless steel, handle included... bought it for this reason in addition to the chopping up stuff thing. I have a household of 6. The less stuff I need to wash by hand, the better.

The only mark down I can think of (and why the subtraction of 1 star) is that it doesn't come with some kind of slip cover or case for safe storage. I keep it propped upright next to my cutting blocks, but since it's *such* a sharp knife, I would rather it have something I can slip over the blade to keep myself and others from accidentally nicking oneself. I might move it to my magnetic knife strip. We'll see. I'll try to remember to take a pic and post it after the dishwasher is done.

To summarize: This is a good buy cleaver. It does what a cleaver is supposed to do, is dishwasher safe, and inexpensive. Recommend. :-)

ETA: I thought I'd uploaded the pics, didn't realize I hadn't. They're up now. :-)

Based on the two prior reviews I had hopes this was a decent item with good steel and no wooden handle that other cleaver reviews mentioned tended to be cheaply attached. Looked good when I got it--but upon first use (chopping oxtail into smaller pieces) the edge was pretty much a burred jagged mess. Since I don't believe an item like this should require getting out a grinder ever time it is used, I have to give this the lowest rating (I am hopeful it can be returned.)

YORKCRAFT 16PC FLATWARE SET

YORKCRAFT 16PC FLATWARE SETFalse advertisement. The set is not stainless steal!!! The faux steel was pealed off upon arrival. The quality is cheap and generic dollar store quality. Don't waste your time or money. For $5 more you get "real" quality and "real" stainless steel flat where elsewhere.

These are really pretty, but of really poor quality. After just a few days, the spoons and forks began separating from the handles, then even the plastic silver tip on the handles came off. We tried using crazy glue which extended them for another week or so, but ultimately these are just terrible quality. I wouldn't waste your money, you could do better at a dollar store.

I liked the look of the flatware. I was looking for something for my grandson, who was starting out on his own.

Because it was a gift, I was not happy that the packaging was torn up. It made the gift look cheap.

He accepted the gift graciously. I haven't asked him about the functionality of it. I'm sure it works okay. Afterall, it's flatware.

They are not authentic Laguiole French knives but only copy that style; it clearly says "Made in China" on the wrapper around the box. Only slightly more expensive and far better quality are the "Jean Dubost Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knives -Olivewood" made in France by the top producer of French Laguiole cutlery and are available on Amazon Jean Dubost Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knives -Olivewood and at Wine Enthusiast. Note that Dubost also make a cheaper (under $100 for a set of 6) line of knives in China under their brand but with thinner stamped instead of forged steel blades.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Zwilling One 7-Piece Block Set

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Zwilling One 7-Piece Block SetThis set was actually better than I expected. It actually includes the santoku though it was not clearly listed in the description. The only downside would be the handles. While they are very elegant, they are made of a softer, rubber like material. While this makes them comfortable, they don't have a consistent tone and have a whitish color shift on some portions. It doesn't bother me, but if aesthetics are important, other lines may be better.

Yamazaki Appel 65-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 12

Yamazaki Appel 65-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 12This set is indeed made in China. I supposed that is why it was such a good deal. It was disappointing because I have a smaller set of Yamazaki that are made in Japan. They look very similar in style..which is why I choose them but they do not have as good of weight balance as the other set I have. The knife edges are also a bit rough and sharper than I would like. I still think it is a nice set but I would not have ordered them at all if they were made in China. They simply do not compete quality wise to the ones made in Japan. They are still much better than what you would get for 60 bucks and are sturdy. I am hoping they will last a long time so we shall see. I certainly will update the review if they prove to make it ten years without problem.

This flatware set is well designed with contemporary elegance and a nice hefty weight in the hand. Without prompting, my husband commented positively on the size and weight of this set. The high polish finish adds sparkle to the table. I have washed in the dishwasher and it retained the finish. I was particularly pleased with Amazon's fast service. I had actually ordered this set elsewhere for the same price, but the delayed shipping and unresponsive customer service resulted in late delivery; I returned that set to the vendor. If you're debating whether to use Amazon or another vendor, I recommend Amazon. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Ergo Chef Pro-Series Steak Knives, 5-Inch, Set of 4

Ergo Chef Pro-Series Steak Knives, 5-Inch, Set of 4I bought this set because I really wanted some descent steak knives. They are better than any I ever used even those in fine dining establishments. When I was reaching for the paring knife and it was being used I grabbed one of these instead and it cut any and everything for me like a breeze. The expression hot knife through butter is how I have described this knife to friends regardless of what I was cutting. I do recommend these to people even eye to eye because I know they will have no remorse. Wusthof Classic 8-Inch Wide Cook's Knife

Wusthof Classic 8-Inch Wide Cook's KnifeI prefer the eight-inch knife over a ten for weight reasons and the wide series gives lots of knuckle-slide area for repeated chopping tasks. I've owned Wusthof-Trident knives since before graduating from culinary school over ten years ago. In fact, I still own all but one that I still use daily (One was stolen). The knives hold an edge better than any other I've used (and I've tried 98% of what's out there), stand up to continuous use and are comfortable enough to use all day long. You'll never be sorry owning Wusthof-Trident knives.

I have a good collection of high-end knives dating from 10-15 years ago, and in my opinion, this is one of the best 8" cook's knives on the market. I prefer the extra width and heft of the 4584/20's wider blade over the narrower and lighter 4582/20 model. This knife has good heft and the handle is very comfortable and I prefer this handle over the Grand Prix's Also, because of the extra width of this knife, the edge is very thin, and that makes the blade feel very sharp when cutting vegetables.

There are knives on the market today with fancier steels, such as VG-10 on the Kershaws and "Trizor 10X" on the Chef's Choice. I have not tried these other fancy knives, and I am even comfortable in believing their claims that these new steel formulations will hold an edge much better. The fancy steels have a Rockwell-C hardness of 59-60, compared to the Wusthof's 56, but when it comes to balance, feel, and just plain old cutting performance, I doubt the Kershaws and the Chef's Choice knives can beat this Wusthof wide blade 4584/20.

As for this knife's edge-holding ability, I do pamper my knives and I don't dump them in the sink or dishwasher. I am careful with using knives on only wooden cutting boards. As such, my knives stay very sharp for a long time. A few seconds of touching up on the steel once every couple of weeks is all that's required to keep it ultra razor sharp.

Maybe the VG-10 and Trizor 10x steel knives don't need to be touched up once every couple of weeks to stay sharp? Somehow, I doubt that.

I purchased the Wusthof Classic 8 Inch cooks knife based on the manufactuers reputation for the highest quality products. This knife did not disappoint! First of all the balance is perfect, and the grip is very comfortable. After using it for 7 months now, the blade remains razor sharp. I have used it for a number of cooking related chores and it has become the one knife that I use for almost every job, from chopping, to slicing, to carving meats. The only care that is required is to use a steel to maintain the edge. I highly recommend this knife!

This knife is the real deal. I purchased mine at a knife store. It was recommended very highly by the shopkeeper who was an avid knife enthusiast and cook. He told me it was his favorite and as soon as I held it, it quickly became mine. I previously own Henckels 5-star which are also very nice, but his knife surpasses the Henckels in quality, weight, and balance. The extra wide blade is the kicker, it really allows for some some serious slicing and rocking of the blade without busting my knuckles. The downside to this however, is that it won't fit in my knife block, as others have mentioned.

Talk about sharp... Sure, every quality knife is very sharp when they are brand new, but this thing?! I was playing around slicing an orange so thin you could see right through each slice. I mean, this thing was cutting the atoms in half! Also, I really like the angle of the edge. At the top, it is thick and manly, and then it tapers down to a razor edge, seriously. Handle is comfortable for me. I am a big guy. I must say, this knife might be a little too big for a very small person, it really depends on your preference. This knife will definitely be in my collection forever.

Want Wusthof Classic 8-Inch Wide Cook's Knife Discount?

A year and a half later and it's still a dream to use. Still sharp, everyday use. It's the only knife I use. I cook every meal with fresh veggies and fruit and it just keeps going. Still makes me want to keep chopping and has kept me eating healthier because of it. Can say enough about the quality and versatility of this knife.

6-month update--Still razor sharp, still the best knife I've ever used. It's still a pleasure every time I use it, which is every day for just about everything. It does it all, and it does it well. Fingers fit so well on it. I feel much safer than any previous knife. It's a joy to use and still makes me want to chop more veggies and more herbs.

Incredibly sharp, incredibly balanced, incredibly smooth surface feel, incredibly weighted, incredibly smooth rocking action/blade taper. Fits my hand so well around the smooth bolster. The extra width is so much nicer for keeping the fingers out of the way. The heft makes the job that much easier. Smooth as silk rocking motion. Yes, the cutting board required clean-up after use. I'm replacing my wife. This is so much nicer than the Henckel's chef's knife I've used in the past. I do hope and expect it to hold an edge as long as the Henckels. In all other respects of the handle and bolter feel and rocking motion, this thing leaves the Henckels kicking its can down the block. Not even close. The bolster and spine are smoother and shaped for a better grip angle. The handle shorter in transition with the perfect taper for a comfortable grip. It leads you into a proper pinch grip whereas the Henckels pulls you back onto the handle and makes the pinch awkward, unsafe, and even painful along the spine. The Wide version here is the proper depth that all chef's knives should be, about 1/2" taller than my previous chef's knife. Cut a carrot so thin you can see the logo, over and over again. So glad I spent the money, and the extra on the wide. You won't be able to pry this thing out of my hand. So stoked with an awesome new Boos board, a new Wusthof GP paring knife, and this Chef's knife. Wish I would have done it sooner. I would have been eating healthier more often and enjoying the process.

Wusthof Gourmet 2-Piece Cutlery Utility Set

Wusthof Gourmet 2-Piece Cutlery Utility SetThe picture shows the set with the markings Solingen Germany on the knife and scissor blades. My set is missing those markings. There are no markings anywhere on the knife or scissors that indicate where they are made. The box is missing that information, as well.

The knife is also missing the geometric design to the right of the blade markings.

The sticker on the handle has sharp square corners, while the picture on the Wusthof site shows a red square with rounded corners.

This makes me concerned that they are no longer made in Germany.

The knife did not pass the newspaper test when new, and cannot be sharpened to pass the newspaper test. It does not hold an edge as well as my older (German) Wusthofs.

There are at least three versions of this knife, all with the same number. Two say Solingen Germany, but are marked a little differently. They appear to come from two different factories. And the one with no country marking at all.

Despite their site's claim "Made in Germany", Wusthof does admit that "they are really busy and have to outsource", but will not tell what country. Why would that be? And, of course, they mumble the usual evasive corporate drivel about quality control, specifications, standards, etc.

Interestingly, the prices are the same. It is up to the buyer to select the quality or country of origin he desires.

The scissors seem to cut OK, but we don't have very high standards for our general use kitchen scissors. They have metal teeth in the handles for gripping stubborn caps. The teeth are horribly out of alignment. They do not meet together, but on two different planes, about 3/16" apart. And the scissors are fairly flexible, owing to their light construction. This means that the harder you squeeze, the more it twists your thumb and fingers as you attempt to open a stubborn cap.

My advice is to buy only German Wusthof at the regular price, or expect a substantial price reduction for the one produced in the secret country. It is very shabby of a formerly great company to charge just as much for a knife produced at a much lower cost.

Have used the knife and scissors for several months now. both performing and holding up very well. hand-washing only, by choice. the picture shows a 4060/10 cm paring knife, but what comes is a 4022/8 cm paring knife. like i said, i like the 4022 just fine, but you are not getting what you think you are. the 4022 sells for 12.95 on amazon and the 4060 for 18.95. not that big a deal, but worth considering. the scissors are th 5888, as advertised.

Wanted a new pair of kitchen shears, and have had good luck with Wusthof in the past. Well the scissors are great, very sharp, crisp cutting, and when fully opened, the two sides come apart for easy cleaning every time.

As an added bonus, the small knife,(a touch smaller then average paring knife)if a great addition to our set too! Very sharp, feels great in the hand, and is perfect for quick small jobs such as dicing ham for omlettes, cutting cherry tomatoes, etc..

Both pieces are top notch for the price, and were well received as a gift by my wife, from me!

The scissors are functional and suitable for light-duty work, though the handles feel a little awkward, and I'm not sure these scissors would be up to serious dissection of fowl or anything like that. The knife is an unexpectedly nice throw-in: it holds a sharp edge and has been surprisingly useful. If I'd paid $52 (the putative list price) I'd feel kind of disappointed, but for $20 I say fine.

Cuisine de France 15-Piece Cutlery Set

Cuisine de France 15-Piece Cutlery SetOk, so I don't have this specific block. The block that I have is still cuisine de france but I think I have more knives with mine. These knives are wonderful. It's a strong, sharp blade. The steak knives are serated. The bread knife is serated, but the rest of them are not. We've used ours in the dishwasher ever since we got them (like 5 years ago or longer) and it hasn't harmed them in any way, they still look like new. No rust spots. I would recommend this set to anyone.

I bought this since my roommates and I (three other guys) needed a set of knives and this was amongst the cheapest. The serrated knives are great, all the others are SUPER DULL, as in probably never sharpened before dull. Once you get passed that though, it's a great set...we would just sharpen each knife manually before we used it.

Pros:

-just like the knife rack that grandma had in her house

-makes an apartment with 4 guys look classier (kind of?)

-Comes with everything you could need

-bunch of steak knives

-wood block is nice

Cons:

-not a single one of the non-serrated blades is sharp

-I'm still not sure how to handle a hand sharper

Overall, I'm ok with the purchase since I wasn't about to spend $200 on a set. If I were to do it again, I'd probably just buy one or two nice knives and get a set of steak knives from IKEA (although I've used a steak knife maybe once).

This 15 piece set is great. Very sharp knifes love them. I added two pics above to show that a couple of things are different than the pic Amazon has uploaded.

1. The sharpener does not have silver parts on the handles. So no more moveable parts as a previous reviewer mentioned.

2. The scissors have a little red on them.

3. The name brand added to the block is now a subtle clear embossment (not bold and black.)

Don't throw away the box that the set comes in until you either read or remove the portion on the lid that describes how to use the "Sharpening Steel." If anyone needs the instructions. I could add them here.

Pro:

* Knives so Sharp

* Not made in China like so many of the other sets.

* Love having the scissor so handy to cut open a bag of frozen vegetable, etc.

I almost didn't buy this because of the earlier poor reviews, but I know from my earlier Cuisine de France steak knife purchase how sharp this set should be. So I felt compelled to spend time to leave a review so that Amazon will continue to sell exceptional products as this one. And I don't want prospective knife set buyers to be afraid to purchase Cuisine de France Cutlery Set. I would buy this set again as a gift too.

Here's the pros:

These are fairly heavy knives, balanced, and made not to come apart, which is good for the price. The block is nice and I really do like the steak knives and the bread knife, which are all serrated (although my BF was complaining that the steak knives are dull, I've used them several times and didn't see that as an issue), but the other items in the set have issues.

Cons:

The scissors have very small finger holes in the handles which means, depending on the size of your hands, you may be able to fit 2 fingers in them without getting stuck. They are nice and sharp though and cut well, just not comfortable to use.

The sharpening steel, the handle is loose, and you can only tighten it so far as it seems stripped. But it keeps loosening back up.

The smooth edge knives are dull, like trying to cut something with a butter knife or the edge of a spoon. When I first got these, I tried using my original sharpener that always worked well on my old knives, and I also used the sharpening steel that came with these, and neither made a difference. I was trying to slice celery and I had to push down on the back of the blade to get it to cut through it. That just shouldn't happen. So, this morning, having a little more time, I spent no less than 10 minutes sharpening each non-serrated knife, using celery as my test and comparing them to my old non-serated knives (not even freshly sharpened, that have been in the dishwasher multiple times). After 10 minutes of sharpening these, these STILL can't cut through a piece of celery! And these have NEVER gone through the dishwasher! It's not tough celery, as my old knives made short work of it! I don't know why you can't sharpen these things, it's beyond me? Never seen anything like it. Since a friend of ours knows a guy who owns a store that sharpens knives (we will get a substantial discount), that's our next attempt, but I don't hold much hope. Either way, you should NOT have to take brand new knives to be professionally sharpened. There's something wrong there. But aside from that, they are solid knives for the price, as long as you don't need sharp knives, you'll be good. I'm thinking the person who owned a set of this brand of knife, whose review I based my purchase on, may have had a higher quality set, as most manufacturers do have different quality items, either that, or she's never had a sharp knife so these seem OK to her? I'm less than impressed, and at this point, I REALLY wish I could return these and try a different set from a different maker. Can't do too much worse than these, IMO...

Got them back from the professional shapener and although they are sharper, they still are not as sharp as my old ones, so please, even professional sharpening can't get these things sharp, do NOT waste your money...

And, now for the kicker, I've had these only 2 months and one of the knives is beginning to rust. None have gone through the dishwasher, although I don't know why I'm worried about it with a product of this quality.

Since we had disposed of the packaging and missed Amazon's return window, I contacted the maker. They told me they would gladly replace them, if I paid to ship them back. It's going to cost at least half the purchase price to ship them back, and then what will they send me, another set of dull knives that will not sharpen? So, if you do buy these, and aren't happy with them, return them through Amazon immediately...

I bought this set from Bed Bath and Beyond. Right off the bat the set was great, and I loved the variety of knives that came with it. My only complaints are that the knives go dull way too quickly, and take WAY too long to sharpen. I don't have time to sit for 10 minutes per knife every two weeks. Second, I lost the kitchen shears, which I loved, and cannot find another pair of this brand sold separately. My third, and final complaint, I think the Santoku knife could be just a little longer. Other than that, the set is great and does the job.

Gourmet Settings Exotique Platinum 20-Piece Stainless Flatware Set, Service for 4

Gourmet Settings Exotique Platinum 20-Piece Stainless Flatware Set, Service for 4I have been using this flatware for a year and a half and still love it as much as I did when I got it. It has a great feel in your hand and is really pretty. If I had to make the choice again, I would choose this set.

It's now been 4 years.... Still love it. I put it through the dishwasher all the time, let it air dry. I have never had a problem with rust.

This flatware is sturdy, streamlined and pleasant to hold. I also like the look of their treble clef design but it rusted easily. This one does not, it holds up fine in the dishwasher. Always get compliments on it at parties.

I've used this flatware for 6 years and I'm completely happy with it. When a few pieces of my original set went missing, I was worried that the pattern might be retired and I would have to switch. I was really happy to find that exotique is still being sold, so I bought a few extra settings to keep around in case we have company. If you like heavy, high quality flatware, you should consider this set.

I've had the Exotique design for about a year. Didn't start using it until 6 months ago. No rusting evident....even when left overnite in water. Wash and wear without any signs of usage. Good hefty weight, generous proportions. Ordering a second set as we speak. Thanks GS...great product!

This silverware is nice, very heavy weight, handcrafted and EXPENSIVE. But it rusted the first time I didn't wash and dry it IMMEDIATELY after use. I will be returning this for something else most likely.

Chicago Cutlery Basic Shears, Black

Chicago Cutlery Basic Shears, BlackThe shears are of very good quality and a bargain at the price that I paid. I am very happy.

I needed a couple of pairs of cheap shears. They would be used during a project and probably thrown away after it was done. I found two about the same price that fit the bill as far as price and size. I ordered one of each and after comparing them I believe they came from the same factory in China. They were cheap and still sharp enough for the job after about week of working cutting mostly cardboard packing material. After the job was finished I gave them to a couple of my helpers to take home to their wives.

Now if I had planned to keep them for myself and use them for years I wouldn't have been happy with them. If I had paid $20+ a pair I would have returned them. They are not really good shears but instead they are good very cheap throw away ones.
