This is really the sharpest knife I have ever used. It come with a great packaging in a box. Though this is very sharp but I can't use it for daily purpose as I am afraid that I might chop my figures. well overall I would rate this as an outstanding knife.

It has a well made handle and a thin flexible blade made of German steel. It came sharp but I put a super sharp edge on it. Haven't used it on fish yet. I have used it as a light duty chef knife/slicer. Works great. You can't go wrong for about $13.

I wasn't sure what to expect with such a low price although it looks good in the pic but it came in a very impressive lined gift box and the knife is finished well too. There is a reason why you are paying so little. Its not bad or poorly finished just something I could have made in woodshop class and have probably made a better finished product. Otherwise the knives and scissors are decent quality being full tang as far as I can tell.

I admit that I was sceptical when I first saw this knife set advertised, but since I've used it, I think it's a great value. I use it daily, but I would recommend hand washing each knife and drying before it sits and rusts. Although, I haven't seen any evidence of rust yet.

Grande Epicure Professional Polyethylene Utility Board

I purchased two of these cutting boards to replace the two I had. These will certainly work well enough, but they are a lot thinner than my old ones. I will not put these in the dishwasher because I am afraid they will warp. They tend to move around on top of my counter when I use them because they are just too light. I am going to keep them, because I already tossed my old ones in the recycle bin. Next time I will pay more attention to the thickness and most likely I won't purchase these again. If you want something that is not too expensive, and will get the job done, these are fine. If you are looking for something better or thicker, you might want to keep shopping.

Terracotta Garlic Keeper - Store Garlic / Shallots

I bought this garlic keeper to finally have a home for that head of garlic. Although this garlic keeper does seem to keep it fresh longer, it is really only for small, very small heads of garlic and I find myself unable to use it because the garlic I buy tends to be the size of a small fist and the opening for this keep is only about 2.5 inches. So if you need a keeper for small heads of garlic, this will work, otherwise go for a larger one.

I had a terra cotta garlic keeper that got broken. This one looked just like it, so I was happy to order it. When it arrived, however, it was MUCH SMALLER than I expected, and I can only keep two heads of garlic in it at a time. I could keep four or five heads in my old one. It will do its job just fine, but it is smaller than the picture suggests.

With a change of life style diet comes many surprises, including using fresh rather than powdered or ground garlic. But how to store it, keep it fresh, and ready for immediate use??? Was fairly disappointed when I received this and found out that it can only hold 1-3 cloves of garlic. For someone who goes through a ridiculous amount of garlic, this doesn't cut it. For normal people, it may suffice.

Maxam? Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer with Suction Base

I bought 7 already and may buy more in the future. I give them as gifts. Mostly when I give one to someone I get a funny look and then a few days later I get a call telling me they love it and want to know were I got it.

The slicer and peeler on this product works as good as others I have used. The only fault I have found is the suction up on the bottom. If placed just right on my counter it will hold but only through about 2-3 apples at best. Then I have to resuction it down because it looses its grip.

It works fine IF you have a super slick surface to attach it to and wet the rubber pad. There is a clip on the opposite end of the crank that won't stay on, so I have to make sure it's reassembled before each use.

I received this slicer today. I am so happy to receive it and want to slice an apple. But three screws fell out from the plastic basement. Additionally, the main part cannot be stable above the base and began to rotating. I even do not have a chance to slice an apple, it will be returned. I can not understand the quality of this item. Messermeister Mu Fusion 8-Inch Chef's Knife

I bought one of these on clearance but based on my initial reaction to having it in my hands and using it to prep food I'd be inclined to pay the full MSRP. I have used a number of chef's knives and santokus over the years but I have never felt another knife to be so perfectly balanced in my hands. The handle is symmetrical and oval in section, great for a lefty like me unlike some Japanese knives, the handle is not overly large yet sill generously sized for my smallish hands and though it is rather smooth it is never slick feeling, even when wet, and the taper gives it a feeling of security with a variety of grips. The centre of balance is right at the pinch point just ahead of the bolster making a wide range of knife techniques feel natural and easy. Out of the box the thin blade is super sharp and though time will tell how well this knife holds an edge and how easy it will be to resharpen, so far so good, I've yet to notice any degradation in cutting performance, it still effortlessly cuts through cabbage or tough carrots which it easily turns into a fine julienne. The blade itself is beautifully tapered from just under 3mm on the spine just ahead of the bolster to a very acute edge and tip so it produces very little wedging whilst still being rigid and substantial. And it is simply gorgeous to look at and to hold and to use. Recommended.

I use this knife in an extremely busy professional kitchen. Let me start by saying the weight, balance, and feel of the knife are all spectacular. It feels as if you can do anything with this knife. I frequently use it to butcher, cut and trim fish/meat and I never have any issues. It makes cutting vegetables fun. In the 6 months I have owned it, I have run it over a wet stone 3 times and used a steel daily to maintain an unbelievably sharp edge. This knife will cut paper effortlessly and I wouldn't doubt if you could shave with it...yes it can be that sharp if maintained correctly! I absolutely recommend it, and all the other chefs i work with ask me to use it when they have a task their knives just wont handle.

I originally purchased a couple of these knives at an Ace Hardware, these knives are OK but not the same quality as the Ace knives.

I had purchased Tramontina steak knives years ago and they were the best knives I have ever used. I lost a couple, so ordered new ones and the new ones are a big disappointment. The wooden handles feel rough and the blades have ALREADY gotten rusty after only a couple of weeks of use. They don't cut as well, either. Nothing like the old knives. Had I known all this, I would not have purchased them.

I was looking for a nice set of steak knives for my parents and since I never really priced knives before was surprised at how much you can spend! I didn't want lower quality, wanted knives that would stay sharp and were made well with rivets in the handles and preferably wooden handles. I noted that some of the most expensive knives had plastic handles. These knives are very nice, a very good size and heft, good hand feel, and very sharp. If you want a good set of knives that look good, feel good, and do the job without spending hundreds of dollars (OK, I'm sure those knives have some sort of quality for the price if that's what you're looking for), these are the knives for you. Good knives that don't break the bank and they seem well made so should last a while.

Iittala Collective Tools Collection

Beautifull design by the top Italian designer is timeless piece....solid feel with excellent firm griding action...love it. Now we have goten our first papper and salt mills 4 years ago...design of the griding mechanism was different then....it broke recently and after contacting Iitalla both mills where replaced with no question asked. One cannot ask for more from the company which stands behind their products!

We have had several now, the manufacturer replaced after the ceramic disk broke....and then the second one broke.

The feel and design is fantastic but has not been robust for us.

We own an iittala pepper mill, and we agree it looks very nice, and the hammer-head mill mechanism makes it quite usable. However, we are more concerned with the ability to mill pepper relatively fine, not too fine, just not getting large chunks of pepper. At first, this mill did just that, but after a relatively short period of time, it no longer was able to produce the same fine grind. We will continue to investigate to find a longer laster fine-grind pepper mill.

Im not really a kitchen knife expert or anything, but I do own a set of 4 star I. Everything I have ever read says 4 star is by far Henckels best line...its their flagship (better then the pro s, better then the 5 star). Anyway my 4star I santoku fell onto my tile and the tip broke off a few months ago. I decided to replace it with the 4star II model. I just got it. It feels pretty good and is way sharper out of the box then the 4 star I. The extra steel on the handle is obviously taken from the spine of the blade. Looking at the 4star I and 4 star II side by side from the top down, the 4 star I has a much broader spine making the knife feel more sturdy.

I bought this WMF Bistro cake knife in Germany in 1992 and it stills looks brand new. Cutting side blade is still sharp. Dishwasher safe, and blends in with any flatware. Wusthof Knife Edge Guard - Slicer/Utility

I really have to wonder about the review that says the Wusthof Blade Guard falls off the knife. Certainly not my experience! It slides easily onto my Dexter-Russell Chinese Cleaver (8" x 3 1/4), stays put, doesn't scratch the knife thanks to the velvet lining, protects the edge from damage, and avoids accidental cuts when rummaging in the drawer where I keep the cleaver. What more could anyone expect from this product?

I purchased this blade guard for my electric fillet knife blades. I had trouble keeping the blades loose, it was hard to take the knife on trips because they would cut through bags and keeping them loose dulled the blades. Now I can transport the blades safely and they stay sharp. The guards are tight and do not slip off, I would recommend these blade guards to anyone.
