If Tim Allen got into cooking and cutlery the way he salivates after handyman tools, he'd be grunting his "can't-wait-to-get-my-hands-on-it" love song. This thing's a monster. Big. Beautiful. Solid. Just like your knives. The only way to go if you can't bring yourself to give up counter space for a knife block, or prefer the open slide of a knife drawer to getting fallen crumbs, hidden dust, and possibly grime (ugh!) out of those narrow knife block slots.

The serrated blades on these knives are really sharp and cut easily. The knives also don't require handwashing and the finish holds up well after being washed in the dishwasher. Thinking of getting another set!

These are serrated steak knives that work very well. They are more like a table knife than a sharp pearing knife. That said it is very sharp and cuts through meat well. If you are looking for something that will slice extremely thin and clean and can be sharpened this is not your knife set. I have owned the 14 3/4" version of this knife for longer than I can remember. 25+ years. This is the only knife I own that isn't a Dexter-Russell knife. I'm prompted to write this because 8 months ago I was forced to put my stuff into storage and yesterday I got brought some of it home again. I was thrilled to see this knife. We've been together a very long time. I can't say anything negative about this knife. Not one thing. It's sharp, it takes an edge easily, it's strong. It's indespensible for cutting cheese prints, watermelons, pineapple, pizza, lobsters, anything that's big and unweilding in the kitchen. As a Chef, I've carried this knife to many jobs and many venues, used it to cut frozen food, even driven it through some frozen products over time with a hammer. It's a really tough knife. It has really stood the test of time. It's my friend! lol! The one thing that really amazes me about this knife is in all the places I've used it nobody has ever stolen it but everyone I've worked with has used it and been awed by how much easier life can be when you have double handled knife on board. To all you aspiring Chefs out there, I say this is a great, basic knife to add to your collection. It's served me well for a very long time. I highly recommend it as durable, versatile, professional knife for many situations.

The knives did not match the set I have. They are alot thinner and not as heavy. Maybe they changed their weight. Delivery was quick
They aren't the standard size for each type of knife; they are really small, medium and large chef's knives, not parer or all-purpose or utility knives regular sizes. The blades are very sharp; they grab the food very well so there is not effort to cut and they do not slip; the handle is ergonomic. Be very careful using them so you don't get injured because they are really sharp. They have gone to the dishwasher a few times and still look as new. I had given this product 5 stars if the sizes had been correct.
This flatware set is shown in a nice display box, but when it came it was just loose inside a cardboard box on some ripped up tissue paper! The pieces have smudges, fingerprints, and scratches all over them. We ordered this for a baby shower gift but there's no way I can give it to someone in this kind of shape. I'm extremely disappointed!

this set is a great alternative to plastic and is the perfect size for little hands. we use the forks daily, and the large spoon but he is 3 now so we don't use the small spoons much. he uses the knife to help me cut vegetables. good quality.
We purchased 3 sets of Hampton Forge Amare Frosted approximately 2001. Love the pattern, the heavy feel and the durability. They still look almost new. We decided to order one more set because even with 12 place settings we run out of spoons and forks before the dishwasher is full. The pieces look exactly like our original Amare Frosted. EXCEPT: they feel just a tiny bit lighter and thinner. Blindfolded I could easily tell which is the original and which is the new. I would estimate that the new pieces are 95% the size, weight and thickness of the originals. This applies to the cereal spoon, salad fork, and dinner fork. Knife is almost identical. The larger soup/serving spoon is the most different at 90% the size and weight of he original.

I bought this item because I own the older, heavier, more sturdy Hampton Silversmith flatware, I read the other reviews that these were about 80-90% the same weight as the old ones, but thats totally inaccurate. Its about half the weight and sturdyness of the old flatware. It no longer stands out from other flatware, now its the same as any other cheap flatware. This is a great BBQ Tool. I have more BBQ turners and tongs than I'd like to count. They are either too flimsy or too large and unmanageable. I bought one of these on clearance but based on my initial reaction to having it in my hands and using it to prep food I'd be inclined to pay the full MSRP. I have used a number of chef's knives and santokus over the years but I have never felt another knife to be so perfectly balanced in my hands. The handle is symmetrical and oval in section, great for a lefty like me unlike some Japanese knives, the handle is not overly large yet sill generously sized for my smallish hands and though it is rather smooth it is never slick feeling, even when wet, and the taper gives it a feeling of security with a variety of grips. The centre of balance is right at the pinch point just ahead of the bolster making a wide range of knife techniques feel natural and easy. Out of the box the thin blade is super sharp and though time will tell how well this knife holds an edge and how easy it will be to resharpen, so far so good, I've yet to notice any degradation in cutting performance, it still effortlessly cuts through cabbage or tough carrots which it easily turns into a fine julienne. The blade itself is beautifully tapered from just under 3mm on the spine just ahead of the bolster to a very acute edge and tip so it produces very little wedging whilst still being rigid and substantial. And it is simply gorgeous to look at and to hold and to use. Recommended.
Upon receipt of the shakers I filled the salt shaker with salt, picked it up and the handle fell off. They are made of extremely thin metal and the rivets holding the handle on pulled through the side of the canister.

I feel like such a loser being this excited about a salt and pepper shaker LOL! But really these are wonderful! They hold a lot of product in so you don't have to constantly refill. The grip in the handle is perfect and makes for comfortable use and the amount of salt (or pepper) that comes out is just right. I coudln't love these more. This is actually the second set I am buying because one day we were having our house cleaned and afterwards we realized my set was gone! Haven't seen them again no matter how hard I've looked! It does cut through sticky-type substances without sticking or goo all over the knife (I am trying to avoid saying it did a great job cutting the cheese, which it did). I also cut through a chocolate bunt cake with really sticky, wet, gooey icing, and voila, it cut clean over and over again! Love it. Worth every penny!

It truly pains me to write this review. I have several Wusthof knives that I have slowly purchased over the years. I love them. I did a lot of research before buying my first ones. I recently used my SIL's cheese knife from Cutco and it was AWESOME. It sliced so thinly, so easily. My family eats a lot of cheese, so I'm always slicing some. I've always hated slicing cheese and have bought various planers and slicers over the years hoping for something better. When her Cutco knife was so great, I assumed the Wusthof one would at least be as good, if not better. I've used other Cutco knives and don't like them AT ALL. I hate the handle, I hate the blade. Even though there are tons and tons of excellent reviews for their cheese knife online, I let my snobbery get the better of me. It happened to be my birthday, so this cheese knife is what I asked for. I really couldn't find any reviews for the Wusthof knife, and only one store in town carried it. I asked if I could try it first and they said no. So we ordered from amazon. I am so disappointed. It's a sharp knife, but is not any better at slicing cheese than my other sharp knifes. As a sharp knife for cutting other things, I give it 5 stars, but this is specifically marketed as a cheese knife, and for that I give it 1 star. I had the Cutco rep come to my house today so I could compare them side by side, and I was right. That Cutco knife slices through the cheese like butter. I was making paper thin slices of cheddar, pepper jack and mozzarella with ease. This knife is going back tomorrow. I ordered the cutco knife today, and will be serving paper-thin cheese slices with my serving of crow. This is a wonderful product. Just the right size if you have extra steak knives as I do. I inherited my mother's silver and after years of having her keep it in plastic bags (that can't be good for silver, can it?) I decided it was time to give it a good home. I am so pleased with this product. It holds the entire set plus various serving pieces as well. Very sturdy, very well thought out. It was perfect for my needs.
I got these at a Corning discount store while traveling. It was an impulse purchase. After using them I realized they have no handles and are difficult to safely remove from the oven when hot. The slightly angled edge is not enough to serve as a handle. I like everything else about them, but the lack of handles means it is a matter of time before I drop a hot casserole on the floor. Use with care.
We have the Sasaki (/ Mikasa) Double Helix pattern and needed more spoons. Apparently Double Helix is out of production or has limited availability, so I ordered these as they look similar (and they were selling for less than their current price -about eighty-to-eighty-five bucks when I got them).
Two years ago,I purchased two Berghoff 8 inch chefs knives offered on sale by "HOMESENSE" ,a subsidiary of the HUDSON BAY co. of Canada. I liked them right away. The knife feels just great in your hand .Solid and well balanced.They were surprisingly sharp and and stayed that way for a long period of time.I was impressed. I bought four more of the same promotional 8 inch knives for each of my adult children. They all raved about the quality of those knives.I was asked later if I could get some more of the same knives. Unfortunately they were sold out,I have bought sharpeners and steak knives since then ,and I have always looked for the Berghoff brand.They are recommended.The 9" chefs knife ,was the closest to the promotional ones I bought earlier and looks great with the same fine balanced feel.
The Shun vegetable knife is comfortable and easily fits in your hand for paring and peeling. It has a very sharp blade, but the light, aerodynamic handle makes for precise cutting. The handle does take some getting used to--especially since other knife brands are heavier. Once you use a Shun, no other knife is close in caliber.
