This is a very affordable electric sharpener, and is easy to use. I do find that hand-honing my knives with my steel does work out better than the hone on the sharpener. Although a water stone or tri-hone is a better choice, if you have knives you just don't want to take that much time with, and you don't want to spend much money on a sharpener, this is a good choice.

Best knife sharpener that I have ever had! Use it for all of our kitchen knives and the knives we use to process the White Tail Deer that we harvest. The right side "touch up" feature is excellent! Makes the knives really sharp so be careful. Buy this!

I received this yesterday and could not be more satisfied. I sharpened all of my kitchen, hunting, and pocket knifes within a couple of hours. This would have taken days with stones. It does have a learning curve so start with an old knife and follow the directions. If you buy one and it doesn't work, then you are not doing it correctly. It took me a few times to get it right but now I can get them razor sharp. I have a bandage on my finger to prove it.

I would have given it 5 stars but it does not work well with thick hunting knives (I have two Buck knives) because the slot is barely wide enough to fit the blade. I got them sharpened but it took some finesse.

Great product, great price, and made in the USA.

I've owned this sharpener for about two months and I still love it. I finally used my hunting knives cleaning a whitetail deer and they worked flawlessly. They cut clean and did not loose their edge.

The non mechanical slot works great for touching up your knives through repeated use.

I recently saw this same sharpener in Bass Pro Shop for $50 plus shipping. Can't beat Amazon!!

I do have a correction: it is ASSEMBLED in the USA, not manufactured. Oh well, better than all in China.

It was not awesome but worked the first 4 times. Now it doesnt do anything at all. I also agree with another reviewer about the knife not getting enough edge close to the handle. I would not recommend buying this.

My father was a butcher and I've still got several of his professional knives (he passed away more than 25 years ago). I've used a Chef's Choice sharpener for many years on these knives and they still have the same sharp edge my father obtained with his professional sharpening stone (which I find difficult to use). My old sharpener had an electric honing side, which I was never particularly fond of, so I was happy to find my new sharpener had a manual side for that. I've not experienced any of the issues some others have, but I've only used the sharpener for about a month, and that's been mainly to hone.

I looked all over for a board that stored the knife in a slot like this. A lot of boards come with a knife but it doesn't store together. I was replacing one with that feature and found it really handy. This is so pretty I didnt want to cut on it at first. Its much better made than the last one I had where the slats were tacked down with nails. That one lasted about 15 years, so i can't wait to see how long this one lasts. The carving of the slats looks really well done and it feels very sturdy. The knife also feels sturdy and good in my hand. Not too small or too large. overall, a great piece. i saw cheaper options but not with the knife storage as well. This was worth the price and I usually go for the low price.

Helps to keep the mess down when cutting english muffins and other messy breads. Easy to clean, Looks good enough to leave out on counter.

Pure Komachi 2 Series 8" Chef's Knife, Fuchsia

This is a versatile knife that I use from carving meat to slicing vegetables. The blade is very thin, so if you're looking for a knife to cut through bones or a whole pumpkin, this may not be the best knife, but it'll easily slice paper thin garlic and mince shallots. The curved blade works great for chopping herbs and the sharp tip allows precise control over carving meat and fish.

I've been using this knife everyday for about 4 months now, and the blade is not showing any signs of dullness. I am planning on getting other series from this line.

We received a Shun santoku and this fuschia-colored Komachi last Christmas. The Shun is fantastic, but this knife gets used just as much. For some things, like cheese, fruitcake and other sticky foods, the Komachi is much better slices thinly and cheese doesn't cling. It's lightweight and easy to control. We now have a few knives in the Komachi line and just love them (especially the bread knife) in spite of also owning and using the high-end Shun knives. At first, the bright colors of the Komachi were somewhat off-putting, but once we started using them we found them to be great, supersharp knives and there's no picking through the rack to find what one is looking for!

First off, I read through the positive and negative reviews before placing my order, and the general concerns seemed to be that the handle felt cheap, was smaller than ideal and that the knife was too sharp.

If you're concerned the knife might be too sharp, maybe this knife is too sharp for you. It's very sharp, and that's exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The furnished apartment we just moved into came with knives, but nothing you can cut a tomato with, let alone peel a fruit or vegetable with. When we moved, we sent our belongs by boat, including several nice, sharp Japanese knives, and this knife honestly seems as sharp and as good at cutting as our nice Japanese knives that cost several times what this cost.

Regarding the handle, yes, it is a cheap plastic handle, and as a tall man with large hands, I can say that if I was the primary user of this knife, I'd like a larger handle. That said, my wife, who has slender hands but long fingers, has no problems with the knife handle size, and neither of us expected anything nicer than this for the price of the knife.

The knife coating actually does make rinsing food off the knife easier. If you rinse the knife as you're cooking with it, it rinses clean even when I wouldn't expect a standard knife to rinse clean. That's a nice bonus, and not something I was specifically looking for when I was shopping for this knife. If you let food dry on this knife and come back to it later to wash it, expect to have to scrub the food off just like you would with any other knife, but if you rinse right after you finish using it, it really does rinse clean, which makes cleaning it much easier. I'm not sure how the coating will hold up after repeated cycles in the dishwasher, so like many other things, we wash it by hand, and it looks and cuts great after dozens of uses and washes.

Honestly, as someone who really appreciates a nice and sharp knife, and who was happy to see "too sharp" as a complaint, I expected less from this knife, and was very pleasantly surprised by the job it's done. It was purchased to fill a short term void, as we expected it to be relegated to a spare when our belongs arrived from Japan, but this knife will continue to be one we regularly use, and it was a bargain at the price we paid.

We bought an entire set of these Knives. I read the praise from other Reviewers and they are right. These are wicked sharp and as careful as I tried to be, still wound up cutting myself while cleaning one.

My gripe with these Knives are the Handle material. It is a Hard Plastic. It has no texture, design grip or rubberized coating, etc. It makes it not only feel super cheap, but outright dangerous for slipping when your hands are wet. I really was not expecting much for $8-10 a knife, but this is not something to overlook. The worst part is if the plastic gets a nick in it; you get a reminder of how cheap these knives are each time you use it, as the bur digs into you hand like a thorn. Sorry, Pure Komachi... I really wanted to like these Knives because the Blade is of fantastic high quality for the price.

True Fabrications Cheese Board and 4 Cheese Knife Set

I have owned several similar cheese sets over the years, and wanted to give one as a Christmas gift. The set I wanted (Picnic Time Circo Cheese Set) was sold out, and so I bought this set instead. There were no reviews, but I thought "How different can they be?" My mistake!

When I removed the plastic to wrap it, I couldn't separate the two parts to expose the tools. The other boards I've owned opened with a hinge or had a drawer. After pulling and prying with no luck, I noticed a screw in the bottom of the board. After lossening it didn't work, I pulled it out all the way. Turns out that the board is just two *separete* pieces that you're supposed to balance together!!

There is nothing like a hinge or pin connecting the top and bottom. I thought maybe this was so the top could be used itself, but it has a small strip of wood where it meets the bottom, so it can't even stand on it's own! It has to be balanced precariously over the bottom piece. There isn't even a notch or anything to help them balance.

On top of all that, the tools are cheap and not helpful. The Picnic Time and Trudeau sets both have cheese slicers and good quality knives. This set is simply different size spreaders. Not very useful.

In short, do NOT buy this inferior product. It's no cheaper than much better, more useful sets. I've returned mine, and will be gifting the Picnic Time set a few days late. It's worth it.

This is perfect for that afternoon wine-tasting tour. Pack your crackers and cheese. Everything you need is right at your fingertips...very compact. It's a great gift item as well.

This set does everything I need. Four different tools to cover all of my cutting and serving needs. A handy set to have for a reasonable price!

The only reason I didn't give this set 5 stars, is that it doesn't include a cheese plane. For soft cheeses like Gouda, a cheese plane is the best tool.

These tools look nice and they can go in the dishwasher. I expect them to last a long time. There are no joints, just one solid piece and the handle is very comfortable and solid.

I'm going to look and try to find a matching plane.

When I first tried to use this product I was very disappointed. The metal string in the middle broke off while i was adjusting it. I wished the ends were more durable! Then when i went to walmart i noticed there was the same product for $3.

I read the poor reviews regarding the wire/cutter breaking but thought I'd take a chance on this tool because if I could make it work and hold up it would be incredibly accurate and a great time saver.When my wife and I removed the tool from the box to inspect it I started to pull on the tab on one end of the wire in order to adjust it to a higher level. Almost immediately I realized a great deal of pressure would be needed to get the needed slack to move the wire to a upper notch and also this was the wrong way to adjust it and additionally was why folks were breaking the wire.

The best way we found to adjust it was to place a damp dish cloth at the front edge of the counter to prevent slipping, point the open end of the "U" shaped tool toward the rear of the of the counter and hold it exactly vertical, rest the bottom leg on the counter and in about an inch and then press down on the top leg this will give the necessary slack to adjust the wire without straining the connections.I find it impossible to understand why these instructions were not included either in or on the box a diagram and a few words certainly seen necessary and would be much easier to understand than what I have written here.

We also found the best way to cut through the cake way to use a sawing motion with short strokes.

With the use of this tool I cannot imagine a professional doing any better [cannot get better than perfect].

For us this another great and convenient purchase from Amazon.

Seville Classics Expandable Bamboo Cutlery Drawer Organizer

We have 2 of these and are quite happy with the appearance and size. It's not the sturdiest, but then again, we don't throw our utensils into the drawer and hardly will need to take this out of the drawer again. Given that, it should last. We've owned 1 for a year and recently purchased a second one for another drawer.

I give this 4 stars as the packaging in the box is surprisingly sparse. Usually, deliveries from Amazon are packaged well and we rarely get damaged goods from them. This time it also wasn't damaged, but I think we were lucky. There was only a thin layer of packing paper between the box and the tray. Amazon should've shipped in a slightly larger box so they can properly pad the tray. Amazon has a good return policy, but who wants to bother bringing it back to UPS.

Side was broken off when it arrived. Rather than go through the trouble of sending in back I glued it back on, that worked fine. Later the other side came apart. Ugh!

I found this exact same item at my local Home Depot for $15. I liked the bamboo look, it seemed sturdy, and I loved that it was expandable. When I got it home and put my utensils in it, though, I found that each compartment took up way too much space. The middle compartments (the ones that are fixed) are far too wide to simply hold a set of spoons or forks. They could have fit five compartments where there are three across, thus allowing you to put all of your utensils in those middle compartments and to save the two fixed upper compartments and the expandable compartments for other kitchen tools. My silverware set comes with two sizes of forks, two sizes of spoons, and butter knives, as do most silverware sets, I believe. With the set up of this tray, I have to fill up all of the fixed compartments with my basic utensils, leaving me only the two expandable compartments for anything else like measuring spoons, etc. Because the tray itself is also very large, there's not really any other space left in my drawer where I could add another small tray to help with organization. Overall, if a drawer organizer is going to be this large and take up a whole drawer, it should come with more compartments to really organize the things most people keep in their cutlery drawers. I give it two stars because while it didn't work for me, it might work for someone who needs an organizer for drawer that won't contain a typical silverware set. I would give it more stars because of this possibility, but as others have mentioned, it's a bit flimsier than I expected once the expanders are pulled out.

The handles on these knives are very comfortable, and the non-serrated blades make a nice, clean slice. Unfortunately, the blades are very thin, and, in fact, the packages that I received had multiple broken knives upon arrival. (Amazon did immediately replace the broken ones.) I have found that I have to baby these knives while cleaning and storing since it is very easy to bend the tips. Too bad, because otherwise they would be perfect.

Fred Table Saw

This is a very funny item to give to a man (or woman) who can't get enough tools. I gave it to my boyfriend to cut his birthday cake with and the laughter was widespread. Harold Imports Chestnutter

After buying 2 of these for myself and a friend, they both fell apart after several uses (the hinge pins came out and have been re-installed several times), the blades bent and lost their sharpness. A great idea but horrible construction.

The idea of chestnutter is good but needs some improvements. Due to the depth of chestnut chamber, the cutter can only reach the big size chestnuts. Also the cutter is not sharp enough.

I did lots of research on what to look for in a quality knife set and found this one with almost everything I was looking for at a very reasonalbe price. They are high carbon stainless steel, have forged bolster, full tang, and also has a sharpener in the block set instead of having to buy it seperatley. After receiving them and putting them to use, I am even more pleased that I found them. Would definately recommend them.

I'm happy with my new knife set. They are lighter weight than they look, so they are a breeze to use, but still feel solid, and balance well in my hand. I purposely bought non-wooden handles so I can put them in the dishwasher, and after a half-dozen times there is no damage to their finish. The shape of some of the knives is very different to ones in my old set, and Im having fun learning new ways to use them. I kicked my old knife set to the curb!

simplehuman Flip-Top Dishrack with Bamboo Knife Block, Stainless Steel

The design is great, especially with the flip-up expandability. The dishes stand up perfectly in the rack, and we like the utensil holder. At first we didn't think too much of the knife-block cover, but it actually works very well to help the knives dry faster (and more safely). I would have given a five-star rating, except for the poor quality control. One of the hinges for the flip-up section was bent, hindering the movement of the shelf. A plastic cover had to be removed to bend it back into shape. The nice part of having to do this was that I got to test the quality of the welds. I've seen too many spot-welds break when adjacent pieces had to be bent, but the welds on this unit are very high quality. The other negative was that the wine glass hanger (which we don't use anyway) is unusable because poor alignment when the plastic holder was molded onto the stainless wire. Again, a very nice design, but manufacturing quality is pretty bad.

Expensive at $80 but one usually gets what you pay for...the problem? Appears that the wire grids are thinly coated with plastic; once that flakes off (took about 45 days of use) then the metal is exposed and then its Rust City. Very surprised because we've owned several of this manufacturer's products over the years without problems. Their newer drainers have different wire covering material so perhaps the problem is now corrected assuming you get a newer model.

We've had this dishrack for a little under 2 years and while it is the right design and size for our needs, the build quality of the plastic and rubber hole seals just isn't up to par.

The plastic area that holds the drain spout is now cracking and the rubber hole seals are now yellow and hard.

This is likely why they offer replacement drain boards for $20.

I definitely recommend spending your money elsewhere as this dish rack is not a good value when you consider cost and longevity of the product.

There is a drain on two sides of the plastic base. You can use one on the long side of the rack, as shown in the picture, or on the short side of the rack (next to the cutlery/knife holder). The bottom of the plastic base has legs on three corners (the hinges). These come folded up into the base. There is no leg in the corner between the two drains.

The legs on the bottom of the draining base are meant to tilt the base (and rack) so that it drains more easily. It's designed for only two to be used at one time: if you're using the drain on the long side, you fold out the two legs on the opposite long side. If you're using the drain on the short side, you fold out the two legs on the opposite short side. Either way, the whole thing is slightly tilted so that the side with the drain is lower and water will flow down to the sink instead of gathering on the base. That's why there's no leg on the corner in between the two drains: it's not about raising the whole rack, it's about tilting it.

By the way, this is one of the things that sold me on this rack. The plastic base for my last rack had a slight built-in tilt, but not enough for the water to drain well. I agree with somebody's comment about directions, though. It's funny to think of a dish rack needing them, but a picture could easily clarify the purpose of the legs. We bought this at a store that specialized in these sorts of things, so an employee told us about its various features.

Although the most expensive dish rack I have purchased, well worth the price. Had I purchased this 2 years ago, overall I would have saved money as I have thrown away so many inferior racks (mold and rust after very little time). Plenty of space available. The flip up shelf is great. A huge plus is the knife block. The ability to change the direction has opened up counter space. Because of the orientation we only use 2 of the cup "prongs". The only con is that it doesn't always drain without a little manipulation, but I think it has more to do with my counter not being level than the construction and design of the dish rack.

We got this flatware along with our new dishes and are extremely happy with it.

As some of the other reviewers have mentioned these utensils are solid, you can feel it as soon as you pick them up. They have nice balance and they have strength (Neo would have a tough time bending this spoon).

The included serving utensils are just as nice and just as sturdy.

The brushed steel has a soft satin look and feel to it and the pieces are nicely shaped. I never really liked the intricate, grandma style flower patterns that my mom always had on her silverware, which makes me like these even more.

We use these every day and I have to say I feel a bit spoiled, while they wont be the most expensive pieces of flatware you ever use, I have gotten used to them and tend notice how flimsy most silverware is now.

They are simple, elegant, sturdy and worth the money.

I never thought a person could get so excited about flatware, but i think its such a great design. I've used them everyday for well over a year now and i think its great!

this flatware is sturdy enough to scoop ice cream or mix a jar of separated peanut butter without bending, but pretty enough to use when guests come around. we use this flatware everyday and got another set to have in the cupboard for holidays, etc.

the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that, because it has a brushed look, you can scratch the surface. otherwise, it's perfect!
