Do not buy this knife at full price. If this retailed for $54 on Amazon the price was inflated. The knife is thinner and quite lightweight compared to the other Wusthof knives I own, without the flared bolster that is usually between the blade and the tang on a Wusthof knife which gives the blade its weight and heft. The tang is a full tang from end to end, but not top to bottom in the handle. The Gourmet line looks as if as if it were stamped out of a sheet of metal and sharpened. I was at an upscale kitchen store today and they had this style of knife from a higher-end Wusthof line full price for only $44.95, with a flared bolster and full tang. I got this knife on sale but by no means did I get a good deal.
This tray is a great price and the dividers and frame seem very sturdy and appear to be real bamboo. However, the bottom is a particle board of some kind with a bamboo veneer. This veneer was peeling up in one corner when I opened the package. I know that this is significantly cheaper than apparently 100% real bamboo trays, so I'm not overly disappointed, but I am debating on the hassle of an exchange or not to see if I can get one that isn't peeling. As far as the long term durability because of the veneer at the bottom, I suppose we will see how it goes!

Good quality, strong, sturdy wood. The wood has a nice color and finish. Good size. Layout is nice, knifes, big/small forks, big/small spoons, soup spoons and then some salad spoon/forks in the back.
This 7-inch fine edge santoku knife is the most recent addition to my collection of W?sthof-Trident Classic knives. I've been using Asian knives for a long time, but this one has become my favorite because the wide blade makes fast work of scooping up chopped vegetables. you can make very thin slices of vegetables, too. I love using this knife for slicing celery, carrots, nappa cabbage, bok choy, and daikon radish for stir-fries. So far, it has stayed quite sharp without need for professional sharpening. I hand wash and dry it and store it in a wooden knife block.

This knife is very well built, with a very nice edge but the blade is flimsy, not very stable, but a nice knife.
I have owned these knives for many years, and for the price I am not disappointed. They do have one larger design flaw that I will break into two parts. First they do not have a full handle tang, meaning the knife blade becomes very thin in the handle and does not run the full length. On top of that the area between the blade and handle is not sealed well. Even with hand washing and drying, a small amount of water gets into the handle any slowly rusts the the tang. They seem to be fairly consistently designed as the first blade broke off a handle 5 weeks ago, and now 1 breaks about every two weeks. After over two years of use I wouldn't say that is bad for the price, but I will be going else were as I need to buy new steak knives again.

These really are quality knives. They are extremely sharp, almost scary sharp but they make quick work out of anything. I would highly recommend these knives if anyone inquired.
I got the Cutco Knives a while back and it claims to be the sharpest knives and at least I thought so when I got it. It does work great, but it wasn't until I saw this set and decide to give it a try. I tried to slice lemon for my drinks and when I used my original knife, it actually squeezed out juices. But when I use the knife I just got, it cut through without having to put in too much force. I am surprised, so I give it a 5 stars. I also like how it came with a stylish design set rather than the regular wooden knife holder!
Granted, I've owned these knives for almost a week now. However, I have been finding reasons to dice everything just to get a feel for them. TRUE, they are very light and thin. However feel very sturdy at the same time. German engineering I supposed. I was trying to bend the blade and it feels very solid despite it's light weight. I can understand people thinking that light would correlate to weak and or flimsy. But, these are actually the opposite of that. So far I have been able to slice through bagels and all sorts of fruits and vegetables to create paper thing slice. All of them clean, easy cuts. My last set of knives were from Chicago Cutlery and these knives put them to shame. Hopefully I'll feel the same a year from now, however my first week I can't be happier with this purchase.

The seem to be very durable knives. Came very sharp and is able to cut a tough steak very easily. Although they seem durable now only time will tell. Great value .
I was looking for cheese spreaders that were simple in design yet elegant enough for entertaining. These spreaders fit the bill. They are very sturdy and I love the bright colors.
It may be difficult to see in the stock photo, but the first half of the handle is a brushed stainless and the remainder is polished. This wouldn't be an issue if the brushed part wasn't so susceptible to scratches. Out of the box over half of the utensils were scratched and I hadn't even used them yet. In addition, the end corners of the handles are very sharp and borderline dangerous. I wouldn't recommend these if you have kids or depressed people living in the house.
I purchased this hoping it would be a "flexible" style spreader for bagels. I.e. so it would glide over the bread more smoothly. This is pretty much a solid steel knife and does not flex at all. A bit disappointing. Otherwise it does the job. I suspect a cheaper model would have spread / flexed better.
I received this knife after sampling both Henkels and Wusthof Classic knives. The Mercer Genesis series gives absolutely nothing up to either of these high end knives. The griping and balance feels perfect in your hand. Highly recommended.
I did some research before purchasing since I've never owned a cleaver before. For the price you can't beat this one. It is reasonable and the quality is exceptional. Full tang that makes you feel secure with every whack. This cuts through chicken bones, and spare rib bones easily. Cuts are clean without bone fragments. If you're in the market for a cleaver and don't know which one to get, I'd recommend this one.
The look and price are great, especially for a known brand name. Great quality so far. I also own the very similar looking Swissmar set, which are also great.
This 4-inch blade is great for cutting various types of meat. I use mine all the time when I have barbeques and parties. It's also very convenient to go camping or whatever you have to do. I highly recommend this knife.
If you order this, inspect what you receive carefully. There must be poor quality control with the manufacturer, or these must be an old shipment of returns Amazon acquired somehow. I ordered this on a good day when the price was very reduced. Since then, I have been sent one set with rough edges to the blades, one set with the fork-tip knife from the larger set included instead of the Parmesan knife, and one set in which the handles were pitted and stained, also with rough edges. These are modern and full-sized, but I am beginning to think that even with all the replacements I'll never get a good set. I just keep trying because I got a really good price on the day I first ordered. Not sure why there are so many reviews praising the craftsmanship based on my experience. Also, the box is not attractive or gifty.

I bought these for 14.99 as a lightning deal on Black Friday. I wasn't expecting much . . .but they turned out to be so nice. I get a lot of compliments on them. They are sleek looking and have great craftsmanship. Would pay up to $30 for these, and still consider a good deal.I would say the quality of the knives is good for the price but I'm surprised others consider the box a "quality gift box". The box is pictured above and looks better in pictures than in person. It is just cardboard with a flimsy red plastic liner that temporarily holds the knives. I'm happy that I went against those reviews and purchased. These knives are of exceptional quality. They are stylish, and a nice solid serving tool. I was surprised at the price I bought two sets for a little over $30 which gave me 6 knives. The closest product would be a 5 knife set at over $35 so i feel extra good about this purchase.
We bought this Lansky "Quick Edge Sharpener and Knife Combo set" locally for about what it is being offered here on Amazon (before shipping) and, for the amount, it is a good value. Here are my observations:
This is lovely flatware. The oversized handles are not heavy and feel comfortable in your hands. But the same oversized handles make it impossible to store them in the flatware organizer in my kitchen drawer. I'm going to have to locate a basket or tray to hold the flatware between servings.
I wanted to return this item. It is defective as all of the Chicago Cutlery Knives I purchased in this group. The rivets on all of the handles are not ground flush. They stick up. I have purchased and used Chicago Cutlery Knives for over 30 years and never seen inferior quality such as these. I wasn't allowed the 30 days after I received it. The 30 days from the date of purchase was used. It is still new and in the orginal package. Please advise. I would like replacements. Thanks, John

This knife completed my set of Chicago Cutlery knives. They are all walnut signature forged, the key word being forged. Note: there are others from Chicago Cutlery that have "walnut" in their name, they are stamped, not forged and they are not as good in every way. But, the walnut signature forged offer great balance, comfortable grip, are nice to look at and a very good buy as well!
This knife is smaller than it appears in the picture. It does have a lot of utility, it is very sharp. Since the blade is black and ceramic, and therefore pretty cool, it was possibly made by ninjas. This knife is good for small cutting tasks or slicing open packaged meats. The handle is slightly wierd, I think a conventional and wider handle would be better. It is a bit expensive, but good. I would say if you have the money, go for it, but it is not an essential.
