I was originally looking to purchase a Wustof, because I have a few of them, and love the quality. My friend is an Executive Head Chef in a Boston restaurant. He suggested I buy a Mercer instead, because the quality is that of Wustof, with a much lower price tag. He was right, I love this knife. It was a little lighter than I expected, but the quality is great. I highly recommend Mercer.

My Global has been slicing bread for three years now and guests still comment that it's "a really sharp knife". A low-carb disbeliever, and living near Seattle bakeries that are serious about their product, I eat lots of bread. Much mileage on the knife and it still melts through hard-crust Toscano Loaves like they were Wonderbread. Two more of these knives have been purchased for wedding gifts. Followup shows that the newlywed recipients didn't know that there were special knives just for cutting bread and are using this wonderful knife for cutting up everything. And love it.

I own several bread/serrated knives: a Henckels 8'' bread knife, a Wusthof 10.25'' slicer, 3 versions of Victorinox wavy edge knives, and a Global bread knife. All are excellent knives and one cannot complain about owning either of them. I use the 20-years old Henckels mostly for cheese, the rest for bread. For tomatoes I definitely reach for a Victorinox knife. As a bread knife, Global wins easily, by a very wide margin. It also looks fabulous. Its teeth are somewhat too brutal for tomatoes and hard cheese. If you are willing to spend $100+, go with Global, and consider getting a Victorinox knife for tomatoes, maybe a 7'' chef's knife with a wavy edge. If you want to save $$$, you'll be plenty happy with the Victorinox only, but then you may want to get the 10 inch slicer or the offset bread knife. Think what other silly things you spend $$$ on, a great knife or two is probably a better use of your hard earned cash, and it will have you beaming from happiness, almost forever.
I've had several steak knife sets over the years with the typical boring black plastic handles that look cheap at the table setting before sitting down to dinner, so I wanted something nice for a change and these really fit the bill. I didn't want to spend a fortune either so when I saw these for under $15 locally last year I couldn't believe it and bought them on the spot. The handles are very smooth, sized well and really nice looking on the table, plus they cut amazingly smoothly with the dual serrated edge unlike the sawing edge most steak knives in this price range have. Guests always comment on how nice they slice and look so I'm very pleased with them. They are not dishwasher safe because of the high carbon steel used which keeps them so sharp plus firm, not flimsy as some steak knives are which is a good thing since hand washing and towel drying is normal for any quality cutlery, even this inexpensive and there is not a single spot of rust on any of them. Its great to have quality and value at the same time and with proper care these will keep on going for many many years to come.

I recently purchased several sets of the Knork flatware and an extra set of the Knorks. I loved them as soon as I took them out of the box. They are very elegant and they actually do work! I purchased the duo finish and it is beautiful. They have the look and feel of very expensive flatware, yet they are surprisingly affordable. Even if you have no interest in the cutting feature, they just have such a nice feel to them.
We decided we needed 'our' flatware after 13 years of his and hers! I looked at nearly a hundred patterns and we decided we could both probably live with this one. When it arrived we were very surprised at the outstanding quality and feel of this flatware. The pattern is classic yet modern, and looks beautiful with both of casual and our dressier dishes. Very pleased, and loved that this set includes steak knives and ice tea spoons.

I noticed many of the knives in my kitchen were dull. I did not have a sharpner. I ordered the Smith's Diamond Edge 2000 Electric Knife Sharpener last Friday after I got paid. It arrived Wednesday. I sharpned all 10 kitchen kives is about 2 hours. They were very dull. This is a wonderful product. It put a great sharp edge on all my knives. It is well worth the $30 I spent on it.
I liked the looks of this set however the knife broke apart at the handle during the cake cutting at my daughter's wedding. Also I had to reglue some of the stones on the handle prior to the wedding.

Would I have purchased this if I didn't own other Shuns? No. Is it worth the additional investment? Yes. I've had three previous carving forks. The only one that has survived is my All-Clad.
I tried this out for the first time this morning. It does an excellent job, but there is a slight metallic taste to the food that I hope goes away after it's used more. Basically, it isn't as handy as a Cuisineart food processor, but it is a good alternative for the price. It is more complicated to cleanlots of parts to correctly reassemble laterbut not so much so that you can't get it right if you think about what you are doing.

Love this product...cheap...and just what I wanted. I bought the set to use on my non-stick camping cookware. I only use the spoon, and I had to cut it down about an inch so that it could nest inside the cookware...but the spoon is flat enough to do double duty as a spatula, and still deep enough to eat soup. The set is lightweight...renewable...resistant to microbial growth...and does not scratch the coating on my cookware...who could ask more for the 3.00 I spent?
