Seem to be good quality. Bought these as a test to determine whether or not to spring for 8-10 place settings...I suppose I can't avoid CHINA printed on some things and I will not buy Chinese made anything if I have a choice. In this case, the word CHINA is boldly etched onto the blade. Some makers print nothing on some flatware pieces, but this maker prints in-your-face on each piece. I don't want to be reminded each time I see a piece, that I violated my own "rule" to buy nothing made in China. So, no more purchases of this line made by our economic adversary and probably, someday, our serious military, economic and social enemy. These are heavy and very nice. They feel really good in my hand and seem well-made and built to last.Buy Thomas O'Brien by Reed & Barton Austin Bee Stainless Steel Spreaders, Set of 4 Now

Ginkgo President 5-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Place Setting, Service for 1
This is a well finished, high quality set. Each piece is well formed and well balanced. Obviously the knife handle is different: if you're used to holding your knife between your thumb and index finger, that will no longer work. Instead you have to hold the knife in the palm of your hand with your last three fingers curled underneath, your thumb to the side, and your index finger on top pushing down. In this position it is extremely comfortable.Firstly, I bought these for a much lower price than what they are now, so I consider them a good value. If I had paid $20 a set..well, I just probably would not have paid that. They are nice though. They have a very smooth finish that sheds water very well (nice when washing), and they are holding up well so far (not quite a year). They are not heavy duty strength or anything, but they are not cheap. Just don't use them in inappropriate ways.

I ordered this set, thinking it was a serving for 5. I should have read more carefully, as it only came with two forks, one knife, two spoons. I like the quality, burt I returned it because I didn't feel as though it was worth 20 bucks for ONE SERVING. Just don't want others to order thinking it was a full serving set for 5!CIA Masters Collection 3-1/2-Inch Sheeps Foot Paring Knife
Fk White Series Chef'S Knife 13051603
I bought this knife recently as a work knife at my job. I am a professional chef and I am experienced and well educated on cutlery. This is the second ceramic knife I have bought, the first was dropped by a co-worker and that knife shattered. I love working with ceramic knives because they are the sharpest knives around, period. Nothing is sharper. It glides through food. It requires a bit more care, but if you take good care if it ,it will last a lifetime. This knife is very versitile in the 7" model and very resonably priced. Perfect for meat and fish, slicing, fruit and vegatables. I can cut perfect slices, juliannes, and very fine dice. I laugh when I hear people talk about " my shun knife" or the extremely over-rated "my henckels". They are good all right but very expensive and they will NEVER be as sharp or hold it for as long as a ceramic. Now, I will say this knife has one thing I don't care for. While the handle is extremely comfortable and feels oh-so-natural( it actually helps cutting in a mechanical sense by design),if the handle is greasy or oily (when cutting steaks from large cuts or dealing with certain fish it can get oily from handeling) it becomes slippery. Not good for a knife as razor sharp as this. Just keep it clean, protect it from abuse and you will have a knife like no other for alooooong time. In a home I suspect it will not be subject to the rigors I put it through, therefore this knife is a great value for the home chef. I would put this knife up against Shun or Henckles or Wusthof any day. I'm not a professional chef.........I just have a bad case of "chef envy". Recently got this knife based on the chef's recommendation LOVE it. Extremely sharp, as are all the Kyocera knives. Very well balanced and comfortable to use. I have a full set of top of the line Henckels love them too but I find myself reaching for the Kyoceras for most jobs because of their sharpness. This knife allows you to slice through large onions and get really thin slices with ease. Goes through meats like butter. This 7" knife is a new addition to the Kyocera line, and I'm glad they added it. The Revolution blade is a little heftier and the black blade is very cool looking.
Don't be fooled by cheaper imitations if you're going ceramic, go Kyocera. I was given a less expensive starter set from Linens N Things. They weren't Kyocera and they were a disappointment and waste of money.
In my opinion, this knife, a paring knife, and 5" slicing knife are must haves for serious cooks. Expensive but worth every penny. In the case of Kyocera, you get what you pay for top quality.

I prep for a large restaurant 6 days a week and use this knife for nearly everything. It has stayed sharp for well over a year of hard work. Considering the store pays a company almost 2 bucks a week to sharpen each steel knife, the knife has "DOUBLE"payed for itself already and I have yet to send it off to get sharpened. Yes, some people complain you cant use it like a steel knife with prying open things or that its fragile. Really people.... its a knife! you should be careful not to drop it, and using ANY knife to pry things open will cause damage to any knife. all in all a great knife, kinda cheap handle, that has a potential to lose grip when wet or oily.

I'm kind of reluctant to write this review. Particularly since a professional chef seems to favor this knife in a previous review but I have a particular issue with this knife that I feel I have to point out for others. I like the quality of the knife. It feels very nice in the hand, very well balanced though obviously feels a bit fragile since it's made out of ceramic. I have no issues with the quality or the fragility of the knife. The issue I have is that the sharpness of the blade is not all that impressive to me. My favorite steel for blades is VG-10, which I think is the best all around steel since it is very easy to sharpen and also holds an edge for a decent amount of time. I have a few knives made out of VG-10. I tested this knife out after using a VG-10 kitchen knife for a long period of time time and I have to say that for the cost, the sharpness just isn't all that impressive to me with this ceramic blade. I sharpen my own knives from home and while I'm not an expert by any means, I've been able to achieve the same sharpness just using some Arkansas sharpening stones. This is as sharp as the knife gets obviously so as it dulls down it will be even less impressive to me.
My test consisted of cutting celery and basically the knife made fairly clean cuts but they weren't smooth. I'm not getting hair splitting sharpness or a razors edge cut. I expected the knife to be much sharper than this so I can't say it was worth the price to me.

Kyocera ceramic knives are a work of genius but very different from steel. They are unbelievably sharp and hold their edge for many months of daily use. You should know however that there are two significant drawbacks. When the knives finally become dull, you cannot sharpen them yourself but must send them to factory service in Los Angeles. The Kyocera people return them quickly, and in fact will sometimes replace broken items with brand new ones free of charge without being asked, but of course it is still inconvenient. Second, the ceramic is brittle and fragile so the edge chips easily. If you try to pry with it, it will break right off.Overall it is more practical for everyday to use quality steel knives you can sharpen easily yourself. I do recommend having one or two ceramic knives in your collection for items like tomatoes.
Oneida Flatware - Hwse Flight Dinner Knives, Set of 4
I have the whole set of this pattern and had some of the knives get damaged. These were a direct replacement for my set, although the picture appeared a little different on the website. I am a little disappointed with the construction of the knives. They are a two-piece style with a seam between the handle and the blade. I put too much pressure on it and it separated. I am very happy with the rest of the Oneida set. Good quality finish and they are all solid pieces aside from the knives. I recommend Oneida for a reasonably priced set of flatware that will hold up to repeated use and washings. These knives were nicer than I thought they would be. They are nice and heavy and have a real high quality look and feel to them. Only wish the rest of my flatware was this good!!Buy Oneida Flatware - Hwse Flight Dinner Knives, Set of 4 Now
Messermeister Asian Precision 10-1/2-Inch Sushi or Takohiki Knife
The factory edge is strange. There is a second angle from the shinogi to the cutting edge. I am in the process of fixing this on a rough stone, however a 1 hour sharpening session did not do the trick. It might take a few more sharpening sessions. The knife is well balanced and feels good in the hand.
The blade is perfectly straight and even has the slight concave on the back side.
This knife is perfect for a chef experienced in sharpening knives! If not, go buy a global or a shun.
Dexter Russell SofGrip Black Handle 8" Cooks Knife
This was my first proper cook's knife, and it has made knife work much less of a chore. No more crying when I cut onions. I've used it a few times a week for about four months now, with no maintenance besides a bit of honing every few days, and the edge is still good. From what I could find, these US-made SofGrip and Sani-Safe knives have better edges than the Dexter Basics line. At the time of purchase, this knife cost 50% less than the comparable Victorinox Fibrox, which is probably the most similar thing on the market. If you are looking for an entry-level pointy object to cut things with, this is a good deal.Messermeister Pro-Touch Red Tomato Shark
I used to use one of these at a restaurant I worked at in high school. I've recently been making a lot of fresh tomato sauce and salsa and this is an indispensable tool if you're prepping a lot of tomatoes. Stone River 2-Piece Santoku/Parer with White Ceramic Blade and Red Handles
I shied away from ceramic knives for many years because of their fragility, not to mention the price. These ones are a pleasant surprise on both fronts and I don't think I have ever used a sharper knife. Well worth the money. These knives are super. They are sharp and appear to stay that way. They are easy to keep clean and light as a feather. Victorinox Cutlery UltraShield Cut Resistant Glove, Medium
Upon receiving this item, I decided to test it by gently slicing it with my (slightly dull) kitchen knife on a cutting board. The knife went right through! This is potentially hazardous since wearing the glove would give me greater confidence and result in a worse injury had I not worn the glove in the first place. I have used a similar glove from another manufacturer, and it works very well. Stay away from this one.I recently purchased this glove from Amazon along with a new mandolin slicer. I wanted to protect my hands from cuts since the food grippers that come with mandolins are generally pretty useless. I've used the glove 4 times with the manodlin. It does a great job of protecting your fingers while allowing you to slice veggies down to nothing. However, I noticed the last time that I used the glove there were already 3 small holes each on the middle & index fingers of the glove. Granted the glove says cut resistant, but really, a glove that costs ~ $25 dollars I expect to be more cut resistant than this. I'm disappointed that it's not going to last very long. For my next glove I'll have to investigate the much more expensive Kevlar or oyster shucking gloves.Buy Victorinox Cutlery UltraShield Cut Resistant Glove, Medium Now
At last! I can now use my mandoline(s) for a multitude of kitchen chores without fear of a trip to the emergency room! Naturally, I haven't tried to see how well the glove stops the blade, but after several apple pies and shoestring potatoes, I remain undamaged! The size medium glove just fits--I normally wear a womens' Large. Great product.Read Best Reviews of Victorinox Cutlery UltraShield Cut Resistant Glove, Medium Here
Just purchased this to use with a mandoline slicer. I was able to confidently slice vegetables that are too skinny to use the hand guard that came with the mandoline, such as carrots, summer squash and greenhouse cucumbers. I still exercise caution since the glove states cut resistant, not cut proof.Want Victorinox Cutlery UltraShield Cut Resistant Glove, Medium Discount?
I am a professional Chef, you would think I wouldn't cut myself, but it happens. This glove is great. It gives dexterity to my fingers and the resistance to cuts is exceptional. It's a bit pricy but well worth it. I bought several through the years and wont buy another brand.Wenger Swibo Boning Knife, Rigid Blade
These are really great knives. They are plastic handled, and they aren't "pretty", but if you can get them on sale, as I did, for around 8 bucks a knife, you can use them without worrying you are going to nick them. I will not use my Shun near bones, because I don't want to damage the bladebut these? They were so cheap I don't care. So far, they have proven very robust. I've cut near a lot of bones with them (cutting apart a crown roast of pork, for example) and no damage! I really love these. I was afraid to buy them because they had not been reviewedbut I took the chance because they were cheap.Giesser 6" Granton Curved Boning Knife, Primeline
I was turned onto Giesser knives by a professional butcher on Youtube who has been practicing his craft for 30 years. The point of his video was how to process a deer. Due to popularity of the video and many questions that he received, he did a follow up video where he briefly explained the tools he had used in the process. Long story short the knives were secondary and were not presented like an infomercial.THE KNIFE
The knife is the highest quality. Construction is impeccable. I love two things in particular. First the handle has an amazing rubberized feel that gives good grip that should be helpful when things get wet and messy.
I also like the offset blade angle that will let me get the blade in to work without needing to have my hands parallel and in the meat.
I will hopefully use it for a large processing job next week and I will do a follow up to this review about how it worked. The picture could be updated. The knife I received had semi-circular scallops ground into the edge. I understand the use of them but I really didn't want them on the knife. It leaves more surfaces to clean and for fat and such to get caught on.
Joseph Joseph Worktop Saver
I bought this tomato cutting board and loved it the first couple of times that I used it. I thought it was so cute. After that, the tomato "sticker" that was on the back pulled off in places. I couldn't believe it is just a sticker on the back. They could have sealed in on there is some way. I ended up having to pull the whole design off because it looked bad with it pulling off in areas. The legs also pulled off with the sticker since they were attached to the sticker. I NEVER put it in the dishwasher even though it states it is dishwasher safe. It was only hand washed. Now I have a flat, clear cutting board that is difficult to pick up b/c it lays flat on the counter top without the legs.I bought this cutting board with the tomato design and loved it the first couple of times that I used it. I have purchased a number of Joseph Joseph Worktop savers. They first came to my attention in the MOMA catalog. I loved the strong vibrant designs but not the designer price. I began searching the internet for alternate (translate cheaper) sources & other designs. I have purchased the Orange slice, Kiwi, Hot Lips, Marilyn & Elvis to name a few & have given many as gifts. They are tough, functional & very eyecatching. I have never had any problems with any of the other designs. The Watermelon however did not live up to its promise of being dishwasher safe. My mother had admired my Orange slice & Kiwi savers but because her kitchen is accessorized in red I chose the Watermelon as the best color for her. The first time she ran it through the dishwasher she noticed a blurring around the edges that she attributed to dampness. The second time the design was really & truly damaged. Apparently moisture seeping or forced between the design & the tempered glass left puddles & ripples & strange white watermarks across the face. Since I purchased it as a gift there was a significant lag between purchase time & the gifting occasion & then by the time the two trips through the dishwasher were accomplished months had elapsed. That's a little too long to return for a refund and since Joseph Joseph is in Britain I guess I am stuck with an expensive Watermelon Rind.If you really love the design go for it. But handwash only!Great as a worktop saver for putting hot things on (I use this round one for my crockpot) but don't soak it in the sink to clean it, or the backing (which isn't painted on -it's a sheet of plastic) will separate from the glass and peel off. Don't cut on it, because it will dull your knives. Don't drop it, or it will break.Purchased as a gift, this is the one of the coolest worktop savers I've ever seen. The colors are great, it just looks "happy"! Of course, it's works because it's round, which is not typical for a glass worktop saver. I've put this on my wish list.
Rada Cutlery Serrated Steak Knife, Made in USA (Pack of 6)
This 6 piece set of steak knives are not only sharp knives but they are a great-looking set of knives. Light weight but very sturdy. Perfect length. My concern before I ordered them was how they would look on a casual table setting as well as a formal table setting. They look great on both. I've had many compliments on these knives. Another feature I like about them is they were made in the USA!These work perfectly and stay sharp a long time. This is the second set I have owned. I owned the first set for over 20 years and I am still using it.
The handles do change color over time. But in my opinion they look just fine with a slightly darker handle.

These Rada steak knives are made in the US. They didn't come ridiculously sharp by my standards, but they cut well and they're inexpensive. The handles are a little small, but overall these are pretty decent steak knives. The blades are thin and fairly sharp so they cut rather than tear at the meat. These knives are supper sharp. You need to watch your fingers. These knives will also scratch your dishes! I notice mine are suddenly scratched. Also, I probably would pick the black handled knives if I had to do over, so I could put them in the dishwasher. That was a mistake on my part of not thinking it through. All in all, they are the best knives around and the best priced by far. AND THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA!!!

This knife sharpener is unsurpassed! I needed a good sharpener for my fillet knife and this is the best I've ever used. I fish for salmon and there's nothing worse than a dull fillet knife when it comes time to clean the salmon. This is the perfect gift for your fishing friends.I own several expensive kitchen knives and have always used my professional electric sharpener. This little sharpener is far more effective than any Other method I have ever tried. It always gets my knives even sharper than with my expensive electric sharpener. Something so small and so inexpensive is truly amazing. Highly recommended!!!I bought 4 of these one for each of my daughters and one for myself, I love the Rada stainless steel knives and this works wonderfully to keep them sharp as if they were new. Excellent product.
CADDIE VEGETABLE KNIFE 6" BLADE
A Caddie 6" stainless steel knife has been my favorite kitchen knife since 1985. It has a sturdy, balanced feel in the hand. The blade is wide, yet thin enough to make slicing quick and easy. Once slicing is done, slide the wide blade under the chopped stuff and let the knife help put it in the pan. I use it for cutting vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken, etc. (Don't have a kow-of course I wash the knife when switching from veggie to meat, or from garlic to apple.)My old Caddie knife Is still in excellent shape after almost 30 years of everyday use. The handle has a few scratches, but is attached as solidly as when It was new. I use a honing rod to keep the blade sharp. I will confess I have used my Caddie occasionally as a pancake turner and have even used the blunt end of the blade to scrape the bottom of a crusty pan. Like I said, it's a versatile tool!
I wash the Caddie by hand most of the time and rarely put it in the dish washer.
One drawback of the Caddie is that it does not have a sharp point.
Couzon Consul Stainless Steel 5 Piece Place Setting
I bought 10 place settings in this pattern about 8 years ago. It is fabulous. I decided that I really needed several more place settings since my family has grown. I ordered these and although they look very nice, they are now made in China, and the quality is not the same. The weight is a little lighter and the detail is not as before. Still very nice but not as when they were made in France. If I had nothing to compare them to, these would be fine and a much better quality than some sets out there.Terribly expensive, and the soup spoon is gigantic! I have ordered round silver gumbo spoons because these are so awkward. I agree that since the product has been made in China that everything has gone down except the price. It's last and major drawback is that it scratches very easily. If you store your stainless in a caddy in a drawer it will look terrible in no time. I have thought about going back to my very heavy Wallace Wickham made in the 1980's. It still looks better after two decades of use.
