I have been using the Wiltshire Eclipse Santoku knife for about 3 years now as my #1 kitchen knife. I have bought similar versions of santoku designs as well as other knife styles and I faithfully come back to this one. This knife is a great size, design & balance. Three things this knife has to its credit are: 1.Unmatched versatility from parsley to pumpkin 2. Perfectly weighted. 3. Awesome handle design is very comfortable which allows hours of prep without fatigue. The fact that this knife has a retail value of only $15.99 at Kmart is anyones guess. This is the second one I have purchased and just love them! It is a bit funny to get the hang of the handle at first, it feels upside down, but once you do it works like nothing else!!This knife is very pretty with a great weight. I came very sharp. I only gave it three stars because of the shape of the handle. It is very hard to use for certain jobs. If your making straight cuts then it's fine, but if you want to pick up a potato and peel towards you then forget it.Evercut Multipurpose Knife 8-inch / 20 cm Blade with Case
When I got this knife, the first thing that I thought was "Why is this thing so small"? Indeed, it is really small for a chef's knife but nevertheless it is pretty dang sharp. I have only used it a few times, but It seems pretty sharp. The one star off I deducted was because this knife chips too easily!! The second day that I used it, my little bro dropped it to the ground and a chunk of the tip chipped off!! (kind of exaggerating but its kind of a big deal) Also, you cant hone it at all or sharpen it unless you live in France ( i don't) so that's a bummer. It wasnt completely disappointing though.Rada Cutlery Granny Paring Knife, Made in USA (Pack of 2)
I do a lot of canning from greenbeans to peaches. This knife is comfortable in my hand, super sharp, and an absolute must have. My kids have used it and it doesn't slip out of their hands. We actually fight over who gets this knife. That's why I'm ordering more. The sharp blade is a little bit like an eagle claw and is about 2 3/4" long which works good on small to meadium size fruits and vegetables. It cuts meat without a problem. The blade thickness is a little thin and bends if you push against it with a finger. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5-star rating. The oval handle is not something I am used to but do not forsee a problem. I like that it is all metal, so when its life is over, it can be recycled. Also, I like that it is made in the USA.Buy Rada Cutlery Granny Paring Knife, Made in USA (Pack of 2) Now
Blade length was not disclosed, and I wrongly assumed it would be a more standard length similar to other 'granny' knives I have.Knife and price would be ideal if the blade were longer. The entire knife is just too small for my hands.
Will pass them onto other family members. Disappointed, to say the least. It's not easy to find this shape knife.

I read the reviews and promptly ordered this board. Since I store my cutting boards upright in a slide out drawer the thinness was much appreciated. Very strong and easy to clean. Bamboo really is standing up to the hype. Love the size. Surface large enough to contain loose rolling pieces of veggies as I chop them. A word about what I learned about oiling your cutting boards. This is very important to prevent drying out, warping and splitting of your investment. Oiling helps seal the surface (a good idea to prevent small bamboo splinters from shedding in this case) and makes your board surfaces much easier to clean. But the 'key' is to only use food grade or pharmaceutical grade "mineral" oil that is available at any major drug store. Not baby mineral oil, motor oil or anything else. Ever..... This oil will likely be found in the 'laxative' aisle. Just ask if you have to. This lable will state 'USP' on it somewhere. Never, ever use any vegetable oils. They eventually become rancid and nasty gummy on the wood. Never allow the wood to sit waiting to be cleaned in a damp area or sink. Now I know better after having to sand down the surface and cut the split edge off of an expensive cutting board to order to save it. Scrub your boards clean with dish soap and a small brush. Rinse well and allow to air dry. Pour a small amount of oil in the palm of your hand and slather the board on all surfaces. Even the sides and handle. Prop it up somewhere overnight to let the oil soak in. Wipe off excess oil with a paper towel and store. Re-oil periodically when any surface starts to appear a little dry. Your board will last many years and while you are at it, just get two boards. Mark one for veggies/fruits and one for meats. I like to use a spray bottle of bleach and water on the meat cutting board immediately after its use just before soaping and scrubbing with a small hand scrub brush. Much safer that way.I bought this when it was 50% off (and the next day it was back to regular price, how lucky was that??). Anyway, I like this board because there's a handle where I can hang it to dry. I was hesitant about the thickness of the board (3/8") since it is thinner than the other bamboo boards I looked at. I've used it for a month and so far, the board has not warped. There are three layers of bamboo stalks pressed together so that each layer runs perpendicularly to its adjacent layers, to prevent warping. It is resistant to knife cutting marks compared to my previous wood board (which warped and became pretty cut up very fast). Overall, it's a good quality board that's beautifully made. I wouldn't hesitate to serve food on this as well.Oh yeah, it comes with instructions saying that you should oil the board every once in awhile with their special bamboo oil. I've just been using my regular cooking oil and it's fine so far. Maybe I'll update this post in a year with the results.

When this board arrived it was way better than I thought. It's a great size for chopping multiple items (no crowding) and it cleans off easily. Also bamboo is the best you can get for your good knives. I couldn't believe it said dishwasher safe. For me it was a sign from the company that they stand behind the product. I don't see a reason to toss the board in the dishwasher because it is so easy to clean. I recently soaked it with a good food grade mineral oil and it looks great. I hang it on my cabinet near the sink for easy access. I get lots of comments from folks who see it or watch me use it. Victorinox Cutlery 3-Piece Chef's Set, Black Fibrox Handles
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In my kitchen, I try to practice the buying philosophy of "buy for quality ONCE". Yet somehow I have ended up with a drawer full of knives of varying quality, and I really only use 2 the most:1) A surprisingly affordable (under $125) Santoku
2) A serrated 5 inch utility knife (indispensible for slicing tomatoes)
So I was a wee bit curious to try this Victorinox Black-Fibrox Handled 3-piece Chef's Set as part of Amazon's Vine Program. They are a Swiss Army Knife product (and thus there is an assumption of quality behind this brand name), yet their price was really affordable. Could these knives really live up to their name for the price? Would they knock my higher quality knives out of the park AND out of my knife drawer?
Here's what I like after using these knives for a week:
1) The blades are strong for being very thin; despite not having a full tang, they do not twist or flex very much.
2) The black Fibrox handle material has a grainy texture, making it easier to securely hang onto when it is wet.
3) The Fibrox material is highly sanitary, according to National Sanitation Foundation.
4) The Swiss Army Knife branding.
5) The lifetime warranty!! (Return to Connecticut for US customers or Ontario for Canadian customers.)
6) The price; If you wanted a 3-piece forged set with a full tang, you would expect to pay 3x the price of these knives (based other options on the Swiss Army website).
7) Of the 3 knives, the 8-inch Chef's knife is the most balanced in my hand, and most likely the only one of all three I will ever really use.
Now for what I do not like about this set, and why I felt I could not rate them more highly. (Please note: I feel it would not be fair to rate these harshly by comparing them with much higher quality knives that are forged and have a full tang; they are just different animals in my mind.)
1) The handles feel hollow, contributing to the imbalanced feel.
2) The thin blade's ultra-light-weightedness does not feel secure in my hands; I foresee a few accidents due to slippage and the occasional flailing and wringing of hands that occurs in my kitchen. (I tend not to flail as much if I have something heavier in my hands.)
3) The 4-inch parer is more handle than blade; it just feels silly and far too large in my hand to easily pare an apple. (I tried.)
4) The 8-inch Slicer is more blade than handle and feels ungainly in my hand, not at all well-balanced.
Neutral Observations:
1) I tried to cut into an acorn squash with the Chef's knife; no luck at ALL. Then I tried the slicer same problem. So before I attributed a negative rating to these knives, I also tried to cut the squash with my best knives still no luck!! So, the acorn squash is getting the negative review here.
2) These are steel, and steel can rust if damaged, so it is important to take special care of even your cheapest knives. Buy some good knife guards for each of them; these can be found in most kitchen stores and are cheap.
3) These knives should never be dishwashered, as with any other chef's knives. This is not uncommon; it is just a fact of life for users of kitchen knives. (Not only is dishwashing bad for the knife and handle but also potentially unsafe for your DW.)
4) At the time of this writing, the Swiss Army website does not seem very responsive to customer comments or questions. There were some questions posted 6 months earlier by other customers which have gone unanswered. I also have not received a response to my question as to how this product (identified on the box as # XS47892) differs from the earlier product incarnation # 46892. I consider this a neutral thing because the manufacturer has answered some, just not all, questions on their website.
UPDATE 3/1/2011: Swiss Army Customer Service responded to my question from 2010. Here is that emailed answer: "After reviewing the 2 different Chef's Cutlery Sets we have available, I found that 46892 which has the Fibrox handle has a paring knife of 4", a chef's knife of 10" and a slicing knife of 8", while the 47892 with the Fibrox handle has a 4" paring knife, a 8" chef knife and an 8" slicing knife." So, the different SKU is due to the size difference in the chef's knives.
Bottom Line:
1) These Victorinox knives are a pretty good entry-level set of knives, but not the best nor most complete option. They will probably get replaced by the user at some time, and supplemented with more useful knives (like a smaller parer, a really good 5 inch serrated knife, and an excellent Santoku)
2) Would I buy these for myself? No as mentioned I would really only ever use one out of the three knives, so this particular set is just not my ideal choice.
3) Would I buy these as a gift? Possibly, depending on the culinary aptitude of the recipient. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Soon after I had the thought that I needed some new, better knives than the dull, not-so-great ones I have, this (Victorinox Cutlery 3-Piece Chef's Set, Black Fibrox Handles) popped up for me to try. How serendipitous indeed! As soon as I got them, I was surprised at the size of these knives, which are much bigger than I'm used to. I generally use a little paring knife for many things and the paring knife in this set looks gigantic next to it. I'm still getting used to the knives but the quality is remarkable and I have been very impressed.
Pros
* The three knives included: 8" Chef's, 8" Slicer, and 4" Parer are a nice selection and very useful.
* Very sharp, which makes them slice with very little pressure. I may start to actually cut veggies the "proper" way by using the Chef's knife now.
* The grip feels nice in my hand and doesn't slip, so there's less chance for accidents.
* I have nerve problems in my wrist and arm, so it's helpful that these are ergonomically designed to minimize tension.
* As far as knives go they are attractive looking, though not the best looking I've seen, but they have both substance and looks, which is preferred.
* Price seems reasonable, though I'm no expert.
* According to the description the handles have been approved by the National Sanitation Foundation.
* Made by the same company that provides Swiss Army knives, so you know this is a quality product.
* Lifetime warranty. Always nice to have.
Cons
* Purely a preference but I'm a vegetarian so I'm not sure how useful the slicer will be in the long run. I'll probably mainly use it for vegetables and odd jobs. For the average person and cook though, I'd say this is a good selection and a decent price.
* As mentioned above, the paring knife is pretty big and while I'll use this for some functions, I'll also still use my other paring knife because it's easier for smaller tasks.
Overall, I'm happy with the product and think this is a nice addition to my kitchen. I believe I'll be using these for many years to come and may even try out other Victorinox knives in the future.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Victorinox Cutlery 3-Piece Chef's Set, Black Fibrox HandlesYou know the expression "You don't know what you're missing"? Well, I think that's an appropriate feeling about my Victorinox 8" Chef's knife, which is part of this 3-piece set, including a 8" 'slicer' and a 4 3/4" utility knife. On the positive side, the 8-incher is the perfect shape for a chef's knife and comes relatively sharp right out of the box with a killer "Fibrox" handle. No way, your hands will slip with this baby!
BUT, here's what I mean about my opening reference: For a chef's knife, I really miss the lack of weight. If you've ever owned a high-quality, German-steel chef's knife, you'll immediately notice that the Victorinox is a lightweight. For those of you who might tire easily, when having to dice those six onions for your gourmet dinner, the light weight is good. If you ever want to dissect a hard butternut squash, I think having a knife with some weight really helps. Again, if you've never owned or used one of these, you won't know what you're missing.
The 4 3/4 inch utility knife is very sharp, and makes for a great paring knife. In this regard, the light weight of this knife might be a plus. Easy to wield when coring an apple, I like it a lot.
Sorry, but I just don't know what to do with the 8" 'slicer'. It's not a bread slicer, as the edge is straight. It's not a meat slicer because it doesn't have the indented sides and thinness of a real meat slicer. I wouldn't use it for dicing anything, as it doesn't have the height of a chef's knife. I think Victorinox just threw this one in to make you feel better about buying the set!
I think in general, Victorinox kitchen knives just can't be beat for the money! But if I was just starting out, and had a limited budget, here are the Victorinox knives I'd buy:
1. The 8" chef's knife. Even with it's light weight, it's a no-brainer for those on a budget.
2. The 4 3/4" utility knife. Might be a little long for a paring knife, but it definitely does the trick.
3. The 6" boning knife. This isn't part of the set, but this is one killer knife! If you ever plan on butchering a chicken, trimming fat off meat, or working with delicate fish fillets, this baby is the ticket!!
4. A honing steel, some kind of block for storage and a sharpener (NOT electric).
I recommend you forget about buying those 10-piece knife sets, as you'll find that at least half of them will look like new after a couple years. Why??? Because you'll never use them!
I'm not a professional chef, but I do cook a bit. If I only had the four items listed above, it would satisfy 98% of my cooking needs. I'd really like to give 3.5 stars but can't. So I'll raise it a half for the overall good quality.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program You're trying to chop something large and hard--an onion, a potato, in my case it was a turnip--and your knife gets stuck. Like an axe in a tree, you can't finish chopping and you can't even pull it out! What I remember is that I had bruises in my palms for days after that turnip chopping incident. That's when you know that you need newer knives, better knives. Now, I would not describe these Victorinox knives as top of the line products, but they are head and shoulders above what I've been using. I'm a serious cook, but live on a budget. Fine knives are not in that budget. This three-piece set that includes an 8-inch chef's knife for chopping, an 8-inch slicer for cutting and slicing, and a 4-inch utility knife for paring and other smaller jobs is an excellent and surprisingly affordable option.
The blades are sharp and so far seem to be keeping their edge well. The knives are thin and light-weight, which Victorinox considers a selling point. I'm not so sure about that. If anything, they feel a bit TOO light for my liking. The Fibrox handles are comfortable and easy to grip, but they have a sort of cheap, plasticy feeling that I don't particularly like. But other than that, no complaints.
These knives have a lot of bang for the buck. They're a good option for a home chef on a budget.

I have owned these knives for several years now. They stay sharp readily, are the right weight for my taste (lighter than some of the other professional knives), and cut like a dream. I have bought them as gifts for friends because I love them so much. Why spend more? To me these are high quality at a great price.Suisin High-Carbon Steel Gyutou 9.5"(24cm) - Right
This is my first time buying a High Carbon chef knife and I am not disappointed. It arrived extremely sharp. After using this knife at home and at work I couldn't be happier. It has already started to form a nice patina. I do recommend that follow the manufacturer's cleaning and storage instructions. The Korin website a video on how to care for this knife. Although I have not experienced any issues with rusting I have known others who have because they neglected their knives. I have always cleaned and dried all my knives after using them, and that is must for this kind of knife. It also doesn't hurt if you spend a little extra money and get the Wooden Saya Cover Gyutou 9.4" (24cm) and Tsubaki knife oil. I can not recommend this knife highly enough.Melange Italian Villa Premium Porcelain Place Setting, Ivory
This dinnerware works perfectly for us and goes nicely with our Corelle glassware and our contemporary style stainless steel tabelware. It has a nice blend of casual, contemporary, and elegant, without being too much of any of those. The color is between pure white and actual ivory, and our Corelle pasta plates in Winter Frost go well with this set. If you are looking for "fine china," this isn't it, but you won't find any true "fine china" at this price! I think the irregularities make if feel more like hand thrown pottery and I am fine with that. It's almost like the living clay got frozen in time and one can almost sense its aliveness. Has the weight of dinnerware but the impermeability of china, which works well for us.PROS: Washes up well, looks nice on the table, and food looks very inviting against the solid white background. The raised design on the rim sets it off nicely, so one feels one is sitting down to a treat instead of just a meal. A good value for everyday use at this price.
CONS: One of the dinner plates has small black flecks in the surface and one of the salad plates has something that got into the glazing on the underside (it doesn't show when on the table), so I would not consider this "premium" quality. There is a slight waviness in the edges and design, but for me that is like a handmade look. Again, I would not call this "fine china," but it still works well for us and our casual lifestyle. The dinner plates are a little too large to allow the door on our Cuisinart 6-slice toaster oven to close completely, but using the bake setting instead of the convection setting compensates for that.
BOTTOM LINE: Good value, nice feel, and expect to get a lot of use of these!Everything we wanted. It replaces the old set we got that was getting long in tooth. It's elegant and simple.

This dinnerware is beautiful and will look classy either casual or formal event. Perfect weight, color and will look terrific with colorful side dishes.I could of rated this 4 stars due to arriving later than promised, however not the company's fault, but a carrier delay to which I was notified. Perhaps the delay caused the double shipping boxes to arrive pretty beat up, which caused one broken dinner plate. Upon unpacking I did notice a small flaw in one serving cup. To be honest I wasn't worried about the plate or cup being replaced because of previously reading the many positive reviews about the company's service level! Within hours after notifying them I received notice that they would forward an extra place setting to replace my 2 damaged pieces! This company is amazing and so is their product!! If only all companies were this caring . . . KUDOS WilliamNSonoma!,,
I did a lot of research to find the perfect dishes for our family and this set meets every criteria, and even much less than I expected to pay! The quality was above my expectation. Looking forward to loving these for many years.
Big huge thank you for offering such a great product!!!

I drink wine pretty much every day and wanted a wine opener that looked nice and worked great. this was it! i had owned previous Peugeot products and always loved them, so when I saw this on amazon, i didn't think twice and bought it. The foil cutter is fantastic and the spiral goes in really smoothly. the only thing that could be made better would be the leveraging system: instead of one step, there should be a two step lever to extract the cork in an easier way.Kyocera Adjustable Mandoline Slicer with Handguard
I use my chef knives for much of my food slicing but when I need a lot of uniform slices I like to use a mandoline. I have a professional model but I was looking for something for small jobs, like a few slices of carrots, potato or garlic. I like the idea of a ceramic blade so I decided to give this one a shot.I liked this slicer okay but it could be better built, even at this price. Although I also bought a "professional mandoline", I thought this would make a handy little item. Boy was I right! I use this mandoline more than the professional. Why? It is convenient! It's very sharp (the porcelein blade is much sharper than metal), the hand guard is comfortable and easy to use, the whole device is dishwasher safe, and it takes little counter space and little storage space. I use it to slice veggies for everything from sandwiches to tostadas to soups to breakfast burritos. Here's what it does not do: Although the blade is "adjustable", only the biggest setting works correctly. The smaller settings makes mush of your veggies. Also, it is not quite wide enough. At the thickest part of a big round onion, it would have to be turned sideways. Finally, it only has 1 blade and so it only does the one style of cut. I highly recommend it. It is so easy to use that you will use it frequently. In fact, when you think: "Should I drag out the big mandoline?" You will say "No, I'll just use my little one (the Kyocera)".Read Best Reviews of Kyocera Adjustable Mandoline Slicer with Handguard Here
The Kyocera adjustable mandoline slicer is an excellent product! I have used mine for almost 1 year and have no major complaints, the only one being that Kyocera could have designed the guard to snap in place covering the blade for storage. I keep mine in the plastic "dome" that it was packaged in. It is definitely VERY SHARP, so use the guard. It will effortlessly slice any vegetable: onions, cucumbers, potatoes, carrots, etc.. Easy to use, no assembly, etc. Highly recommended.Want Kyocera Adjustable Mandoline Slicer with Handguard Discount?
2 great points about this mandolin: ceramic and dishwasher-safe. It is not the most aesthetically pleasing mandolin, surely the shiny metal ones look more professional and flashier. However, for the home-chef who favors functionality over looks, you won't be disappointed with this model. It also has a lip on the bottom making it easy to fit over the edge of a bowl. One of my biggest pet-peeves about metal mandolins is that they are so difficult to clean. With all the nooks and crannies food gets stuck in and the risk of rust, you have to invest a comparatively significant amount of time in cleaning.
The ceramic blade stays sharp and is superior in my view to any metal blade: you won't have to sharpen it and it does not rust. The only drawback to ceramic is that it is fragile, so you may want to be careful where you store this tool. Haphazardly tossing it in the same drawer you throw your meat tenderizer might not be the best idea.
At ~20$, this tool is a great value. You will spend more on a quality metal mandolin and it will rust. Additionally, if you do happen to accidentally break the blade, it's only 20$ to replace.

Got these for my son's wedding to use on the buffet table. The are heavy and nice looking and went well with my silver pieces. I'd buy again!Love the "knotted" design on the handles. The servers have a hefty feel and the handles are easy to grip. They are also longer and larger than the shorter, clumsier versions that are so prevalent. The finish is high-quality. This is a very good knife except for the switch it is hard to squeeze and even harder to hold if you have a big anything to cut. This knife does a really sorry job of cutting.. anything, even cheese or something as soft as 'just out of the oven bread'. Def. not worth the money! We bought this knife to cut foam and it did a great job, smooth and even. The placement of the control switch is awkward and I had cramping in my hand although my husband did not have much trouble. Guess large hands help. Not sure if we will try this on food.On the other hand maybe you cannot expect much more at this price. I ordered this to cut foam and it does the job well but the body looks like a cheap plastic toy. I found it unwieldy and difficult to maneuver, at times I was not able to press the on button in the right direction/ right way.Awesome knife my husband uses it to cut foam and it cuts really nice and smooth. So worth the money.WMF Manaos / Bistro Dinner Knife, Set of 4
I am very satisfied with having bought these instead of more of the cheaper junk I had been using. The blades are sharper than all of my other table knives, the whole piece looks nice, and they are actually clean when they come out of the dishwasher. It's all a solid piece with no stupid grooves or rough stamped-out edges to hang onto gross food.Silverware is one of those things which I could never make myself pay much for, and I previously wouldn't pay more than about ten bucks for a full 4-person set of all items. But the cost of each individual piece of this WMF stuff isn't really that much. I don't know why the simple math went over my head before, but when you buy the really cheap stuff, you are only paying about half a dollar for each piece. No wonder the cheap stuff sucks.I am very pleased that I purchased WMF Bistro forks, knives , spoons and teaspoons. Excellent quality, no need to dry them with a towel after the dishwasher. Very very shiny, with a clean design (the incrustations on the surface of some other expensive silverware make it so difficult to maintain it clean and good looking). WMF is an old company with a great reputation and I've always been pleased with the high quality of their products. The knives have printed WMF logo (with no taika or china). Also this Bistro edition silverware is much cheaper than any other WMF silverware set. I will definately get esspresso an desert sets.

We were down to two dinner knives in the drawer, so I had to order more. I have used this brand of utensil before, so I ordered this dinner knife set and I am beyond satisfied with them. As soon as I got these, I ordered spoons and forks if that says anything about how much I liked them. They are high quality, very sturdy, the perfect weight...not light, bending and cheap like others in this price range. They look beautiful and shiny in the drawer, the old stuff looks very cheap next to these.

We needed more dinner knives. These are nice heavy knives that would go with any of your existing set. ThanksI love this silverware. After looking for some time for replacement flatware we finally decided on WMF bistro. Things I like are its 1)simple design, 2) sturdy feel and yet light weight, 3)the handles are long and fit in the hand nicely and 4) it cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher (shiny and looking like new). I can't really say anything bad about the product. For everyday flatware it's the bomb!Picnic Time Bamboo Leaf Cheese Board and Tool Set
John Boos 18-Inch Octagonal Cutting Board
I bought this item so that I will NEVER have to buy another cutting board again. My cabinet is full of warped, cracked "quality" boards. The delivery box was broken and the board was loose. I expected to see the board was damaged but it was not. It is a sturdy, very thick (3 inches!), gorgeous cutting board with handles for ease of cleaning. The problem was it was very, very dry and needed to be oiled immediately. You should order the oil at the same time so you can treat it right away. Now that I've oiled it several times, it is the best cutting board I've ever used. Although it is quite heavy. I recommend Boos. I understand they are the BEST cutting boards you can buy and mine was worth the $$$.Amazon did a great job of packing this item: the box was gigantic and well padded. The board arrived in perfect condition. We have not yet had a chance to use the board, but it looks beautiful.Wusthof Dreizack - Sharpening Steel - 4470/26
Make no mistake, size does matter in a honing steel. After reading how another style Wusthof steel can pop out of the handle, I opted for this older model. While the steel is not solid through the handle, the base screws on, so there is no danger of the handle "popping off". The fluted "behive" handle gives a great grip. While this steel is a bit top-heavy due to the hollow handle, it is definitely worth the $100 savings over the rod-through-the-handle models. 12 inches means I can hone my largest chef knives with ease, and the exceptional hardness of the Wusthof steel ensures a razor edge with just a couple of strokes (providing, of course, that your knife already has a good sharp edge). Use this steel before every knife use and you will greatly extend the time between sharpenings. This is an excellent value buy one today and your knives will love you long time.I purchased this to replace a worn smooth steel that came with my Wusthof Classic knife set. This fine grade hone works beautifully to straighten all my knife edges. I learned to always use this just before the use of my knives instead of after. I can tell that my knife edges have a tendency to return to a slightly non-aligned state after sitting for a period of time and feel less sharp. Holding the steel vertically I use the lightest amount of pressure at a 20 degree angle about 4 passes on each side to return knife edges to razor sharpness. This steel is a larger diameter and finer roughness than most. I purchased the 12" version because I have the 10" and 12" chefs knives along with several 10" slicers and carvers and It easily fits into the Wusthof 35 slot knife blocks. If you have the room, the 14" version would be even better if you have knives longer than 10".Zyliss Chef's Knife, 7.5-Inch, Blue
First of all, I can't believe the price of this knife!! I've used it for all kinds of vegetables and am so thrilled to have such a sharp chef's knife on hand. It cuts through fish, (both the meat and the skin), flawlessly which is something I really appreciate in a busy kitchen environment. Fish skin isn't always so easily dealt with, especially when you're looking for a clean cut. The fact that it is blue and has a really nice blade cover just adds to the value for me. I think it's awesome to be able to buy a knife this versatile without spending $75 dollars or more. Perfect!!This is a sensational knife! It is lightweight but slices thru anything. It makes me look like a pro as I slice onions, peppers, even thru a London Broil. I especially like the protective sleeve so it is safe in the drawer. I would definitely buy others of this type in different sizes. A must have for any cook and well priced, too!Buy Zyliss Chef's Knife, 7.5-Inch, Blue Now
I recently bought the Zyliss Chef Knife and I absolutely love it. The color is great like nothing else I have in the kitchen which makes it so easy to find in the drawer. It comes with a protective cover which keeps the knife sharp and me from getting cut. Easy to clean (you can put it in the dishwasher). Most of all, it works really well! I have used this on bricks of cheese, apples, pears, and onions and had no problem slicing and dicing. It's definitely my favorite knife!!Read Best Reviews of Zyliss Chef's Knife, 7.5-Inch, Blue Here
