Starfrit Salad Spinner, Blue
I've been walking into Bed, Bath, and Beyond for several years now looking for a decent salad spinner. Last Christmas I bought myself an OXO but returned it after 1 day since the the gears stripped with a minimum of force and the entire unit was difficult to keep steady. Then last week I started looking around online to see where the state of salad spinner technology was and after perusing many reviews I decided to give this Starfrit item a whirl. What a good move that was! This thing is SWEET. Some people might be turned off by the side handle because it might make it difficult to store the unit. But as far as I'm concerned this is the luxury of the item. With the side handle, the gear mechanism is more sturdy and considerable force can be applied to get the spinner really humming. Also, with the top of the unit clear, one can place a hand on top to stabilize the unit while turning the handle. Also, there are some little details like removable liner on the spinner, which can be cleaned separately. Also, the ribbed interior of the basket to keep salad leaves in place. And did I mention the 4 thick rubber feet? Finally, this light blue thing looks cool as all get out like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey! Open the pod bay doors, Hal, and get me a Caesar Salad....I love this product and advise everyone to immediately bypass the OXO hype and get with the Starfrit revolution! (OK, am I overstating my enthusiasm a bit here? seriously though, this is an awesome salad spinner.)Love this salad spinner. I wasn't sure which one to buy so I went thru all the reviews.This brand had great reviews from everyone. I was not disappointed. It's very solid, and the handle makes it spin well. It doesn't feel like it's going to break on you. It also doesn't slip all over while trying to turn the handle... of course I keep one hand on it and it is just so steady. I have used salad spinners in the past and quit using them because they didn't work well. Well I put my lettuce in this one after washing it and shaking out the excess water.Gave it a few spins and was surprised at how much water came out and how dry my lettuce was for chopping.If you're considering purchasing a salad spinner... this is a great one. I love mine!Buy Starfrit Salad Spinner, Blue Now
I reviewed a lot of spinners before choosing this one, and I'm very glad I bought it. It is quite large, well designed, very sturdy, and does a great job. We've had it for many months, no problems. I like that you can crank the handle just a few turns, and it keeps on spinning on its own for as long as you want, to get your produce very dry--no need to pump and pump. The brake works very well. The lid never seems to get wet either, which makes for easier cleaning. We like to do leaf lettuce in whole leaves, then store them ready for use in an air-tight container. The lettuce seems to last longer, and is certainly convenient for salads and sandwiches. This is a bit too large for de-hulling sprouts.In the past, I have had the OXO and the Kitchen Aid salad spinners. Both of these were difficult to spin, especially with large amounts and broke within a relatively short period of time. This one, with the crank, is easy to use and gets my lettuce much drier than the others. I am happy with my purchase.I must say I'm underwhelmed on first spin with this product. Several review descriptions just seem "off". This is NOT any jumbo capacity spinner, if anything it's a tad less than OXO's and other typical spinners of that ilk. It's taller but narrower. The minimal instructions don't tell you how to attach the handle, just shove it on. Not sure from that if there's a better connection than just randomly pushing it in but the most annoying thing about it is it has a clicking, "skipping" feel to the spinner when you rotate the handle, as though the cogs had already stripped a few teeth. This is apparently the action that was designed into the spin system(they're very few teeth on the spin top) so to me it feels defective right out of the box. It literally sounds like popcorn popping there's so much plastic "gear stripping". You dont get the feel that it can spin as fast or with as much torque as other common spinners. Can't imagine it'll hold up too well with the flimsiness of the handle/gear cog mechanism, but will definitely report back on its performance after a month or two. My initial impulse was to return it but seems like a hassle for a bulky $25 purchase. 10 days later-gave up and returned it. I would guess it never exceeded 60 rpm(with a clattering/ratchedy noise)and left salad dripping wet. Thank you Amazon for good return service.Kotobuki Teruhisa Nakiri Japanese Kitchen Knife
Very unique knife,very good price. I was impressed with the quality,for such a bargin price.Would recommend to any chef.We received a Nakiri knife as a gift a few years ago. I bought two more to go with it. The style of knife is perfect for vegies, meat, and bread. This particular knife is stainless and is very sharp right out of the box. The natural wood handle is smooth but unfinished. I consider this an advantage because I rinse the knife often while doing prep work.
OXO Good Grips Silicone Cookie Spatula
I love this little spatula. I do not do cookies. I was hoping it would do for turning eggs in a small pan. Oh, yes, and how! It is just great.I just used this spatula this morning to turn 3 eggs in a very small pan. Since it is small, it can get under the individual egg without disturbing its neighbors. Since it is silicone, the spatula does not stick to the pan or the egg or carry any, what shall I call it, frying pan debris, with it. It works perfectly. I've only broken one egg since I started using it (2 times a week for about 2 months). The handle is short and curved just right for my purposes.
You can see the "base", which is metal, through the silicone. I don't think it will break through, though, as long as you don't leave it resting in a hot pan, maybe not even then. I think it would take a tremendous amount of use for it to wear through. By then one probably needs a new one anyway.
This is a terrific small spatula and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small compact spatula.I can't believe I didn't purchase this sooner. I am a lover of gadgets that work well and this is surely one of them. I make a wicked chocolate chip cookie and have been struggling with a full size spatula for such a long time. You know, the ones that you have to navigate into and around the other cookies, while trying not to mash the others set around the one you are trying to get off. This is just the handiest little spatula. Perfect for the job of getting under small pastries or cookies. Oxo did a nice job on this tool. A definite plus in the kitchen of any cookie maker.

Not sure why they call this a "cookie" turner. They should call it the perfect little turner works perfectly for eggs, and any other food you want to turn or stir in a little pan. LOVE IT. So happy I got this little guy.Read Best Reviews of OXO Good Grips Silicone Cookie Spatula Here
I would've given this low stars as a spatula/turner. Too small, even for eggs. Too flimsy for me. Tried it a couple of times and then it just sat there unused. ****BUT**** I needed a rubber scraper in a hurry and they were all in the sink while this was hanging on a utensil hook so I grabbed it and -oh my! It is the *****BEST***** scraper!! It scrapes a bowl or pan clean. Perfectly CLEAN!!! (Assuming the pan has soft stuff in it; in my case it was an eggy casserole kind of thing I needed to scrape out of a pan quick before the egg overcooked.) I've hated the thick-edged silicone scrapers that are all I could find in recent years. But now that I know *this* baby works so well as a scraper, I'm buying a couple more and the all the thick-edged scrapers are going to get exiled the back of the junk drawer.Want OXO Good Grips Silicone Cookie Spatula Discount?
For the price, you can't complain. The spatula appears to be durable, but we've only had it for a couple of months.My only complaint is that the handle isn't silicone (nor material that can handle frying pan temps, like metal), as it melts when it comes in contact with the edge of the pan. But, by factoring in the price, I'm okay with it but gave it only 4 stars.
Zyliss Apple Divider
This is an excellent and attractive apple slicer that works as well or better than every other slicer I've had. Zyliss produces kitchen utensils that show real thoughtfulness in the design, and this utensil reflects the company's general commitment to that ideal. The only possible way to improve it might be to rubberize the handles (I think Oxo does this), but in my opinion such modifications have little marginal value while adding unnecessarily to the cost.The color, by the way, is a nice way to brighten up one's kitchen. These days, I prefer some departures from a regimen of black, white, and stainless utensils.I was excited when I received the slicer thinking it would end my frustration when eating apples (biting with upper dentures & cutting with arthritic hands). To my dismay I did not have the strength to force the slicer through the apple. Not the fault of the divider, just keep in mind if purchasing for younger child or older persons' use. My adult son used it without a problem.When looking for an apple slicer we looked for one that was sturdy and functional. We have a variety of Zyliss products and knew from experience with those that Zyliss = Quality. We were not disappointed. With 5 bushel boxes of apples to process this divider made it easier. Last night my sweetheart made a delicious apple crisp!

didnt ever think about the diameter for larger apples.. but this Zyless Apple slicer is perfect for larger apples. I have another brand store bought that will only work for small and med apples.. this one will handle all sizes easily.Want Zyliss Apple Divider Discount?
This seems to be a sturdy gadget. Well made and the blades are tough and sharp. My only complaint is that you have to place the apple somewhat on a low level to be able to get enough weight on it to slice. At least I do. I put it on a plate in the sink and in about three seconds the apple is cored and nicely sliced. Sure beats messing with a knife.I feel it's a smart purchase if you enjoy fresh apples and want them sliced in perfect slices.
Gourmet Settings Treble Clef 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4
I've had this flatware for several years now. The quality is lovely. Heavy weight pieces yet comfortable to use. I love the pattern; it is unique and works well casually or formally. After years of running through the dishwasher it still looks great.I saw similar flatware in Italy, and when I returned home I just had to find this beautiful pattern! I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it is. It has held up well to daily use and the dishwasher for over a year now. The weight is substantial (can't stand lightweight eating utensils!), and I always get compliments on it. Truly unique!Recently I picked up the serving set, and don't miss the cocktail forks, spreader knives, and tiny spoons (all which I use for serving) they are a real bargain here at Amazon.

I fell in love with this set when I saw some of the pieces in a local restaurant. Reasonably affordable, considering what you're getting --a truly unique collection of flatware. It's a rare visitor who doesn't marvel at its sleek design and whimsical touch. Just one word of warning: if you don't have a dishwasher, and you are an "air dryer" like I am, be sure to dry the pieces with the stems in the air. Otherwise, they will start to develop slight rust because water gets trapped in the swirly part (which has a matte, NOT STAINLESS finish!). This is not a complaint, but rather a warning, as the problem is easily avoided by keeping the stem out of standing water.Read Best Reviews of Gourmet Settings Treble Clef 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4 Here

My husband and I registered for the Pottery Barn Fiddlehead flatware when we got married 10 years ago. To my horror, a spoon got thrown away at Thanksgiving a few years ago. Pottery Barn stopped making these and they have no way to get replacements, so I assumed I'd never replace the spoon. When I saw these, I figured they were worth a shot, especially at 1/3 of the Pottery Barn price. I am thrilled to report that the two sets of flatware look identical.These are oversized, as one reviewer noted, which might be a downfall, unless you're trying to match a Pottery Barn set, in which case they are the perfect size. As a bonus, this line also makes a variety of serving pieces (Pottery Barn only had a 2-piece serving set), as well as a line of mini forks, spoons and knives which I bought for appetizers and condiments.
I am completely pleased with this set. It looks much more expensive than it really is, and it matches my current set perfectly. I love the look of these pieces, and I am very glad that I gave them a try.
Chef'n Garlic Slice
I have used this a couple of times now. I love how easy it is once you get the hang of it. You have to cut the garlic in half or thirds before you put it into the compartment, otherwise you'll have a heck of a time trying to push the giant spring-top down and then twisting it to lock. It's so easy and fast to slice your garlic and all the slices are of uniform thickness. It really saves me time since I'm so slow at slicing and my hands stay relatively garlic free.After using a similar product I was sold on the garlic slicer but this one does not compare. The compartment is small and only 1/3 of my head of garlic would actually fit in the chamber. I am returning it and going to the competitor website to order the one I had previously used which is no longer available on Amazon.I, too, had great hopes for this item, but once you actually put any garlic in it, unless it is a TINY clove, the top will not close unless you use a great deal of force. Once you jam a clove or two into it, it does slice them very thinly, but it is such a pain that I will never use it again. If the hopper were deeper and wider it would probably work pretty well.If, like me, you cannot cook without adding garlic, this little gadget is for you! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this garlic slice. You get used to just how many cloves can be put into it, at a time, and, after that it's a breeze! I don't know how I survived without it. AWESOME!!I have to put the piece of garlic tightly into a small hole and then push with great force to close and twist the top closed so I can then slice. The slices are great, but the effort required trying to get it into the slicer is awful. Anyone who has strength issues for their hands would not be successful with using this.Mercer Ultimate 8-Inch Knife Offset Utility, Wavy Edge
I got this to cut through paninis where a sawing motion will wreck the sandwich. I have a long bread knife that did pretty well except I hit my knuckles. I wanted a shorter knife and ordered this only to find it was just as long (my fault! The size is stated clearly and is accurate), I decided to try this any way and it does a great job. I am able to cut through the crusty panini with a minimal amount of sawing and once I'm through the crust I can cut straight down without making a mess of the sandwich an no knuckles on the counter. I have used it to cut other things like cutting a whole melon in half (good thing it's long for that). It is easy to clean and feels like it will hold up well. I have a few 'fancy' knives wit this is my third one with the plastic commercial kitchen type handle. The oldest I have is over 15 years old and is still one of my most used knives. They don't look impressive in a knife block on the counter (ESP the white handles) but they get the job done. I suspect a real chef or knife connoisseur could tell you why youneedto spend >$100 on a knife but for the general amateur cooking I do this is a great knife!Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 7.5-Inch Stainless Steel Chef Knife
I am an avid cook at home, and I also own a restaurant. Needless to say, a knife is in my hand a good part of the day. This is possibly the best cleaver I have owned. It is beautifully balanced, light, incredibly sharp and stays sharp. I bought 2 so that I wouldn't have to be carrying it back and forth to work. I will be buying more as presents, and maybe another for myself so I can have it with me when I visit friends and end up cooking at their house.I'm very pleased with Helen's Asian Kitchen Chinese 7-1/2-Inch Chef Knife, Stainless Steel. Kuhn Rikon 4th Burner Pot
This is the most handy pot I have! As they say, it is just the right size. I originally purchased it to make my hard boiled eggs. I have chickens, so I have a lot of those!It easily holds a dozen eggs. I stack them up in the basket and lower them into the pot and add enough cold water to cover them sufficiently. Then I take the basket out and put the water on to boil. When the water comes to a rolling boil, I again lower the basket into the pot and time it for 14 minutes for large/extra large eggs. I don't wait for it to reach another boil before starting the timer. I have found this method to be the best for peeling hard boiled eggs, especially the "farm fresh" ones that are more difficult.
When they are done, I take out the basket and rinse the eggs with the coldest water I can get out of the tap. Meanwhile, I allow the pot to cool somewhat and then lower the eggs back in and fill it with very cold water. I drain the cold water and add new cold water a few times and then let the eggs stay in the cold water a while. Ice can also be added to the water, which eliminates the need to change the cold water. When the eggs are sufficiently cool, they are so easy to peel! And I have never cracked an egg doing this!
I have also used it with the basket for boiling carrots and they were so easy to lift out and dump into a bowl. Without the basket in place, I have made pasta sauce that cooked perfectly.
The height of the pot worried me a bit, thought it might not cook evenly. Well, there is no problem at all. I find I need to leave the heat lower than with my other pots, which are also good quality. Even with the small base, nothing has stuck to the bottom or scorched, not even the pasta sauce.
The cool touch handles are great and make the pot easy to handle. I always keep it on my stove as it is so handy. I use it frequently and don't know how I ever did without it!
I just ordered a second pot for a gift for my neighbor, who loves to cook. I know she will love it, just as I do!
This pot is not only extremely handy, it is made of high quality stainless steel and cleans up beautifully. I just wish I could give it more than 5 stars, it is that good!
Edit 3/26/10--Since there is no image for this pot, I thought I should add a little description. Overall, I would say this looks like a gourmet pot. It is shiny stainless steel with a wide brushed finished band around the middle. It is tall and looks like a large sauce pitcher made into a pot. It has a pouring spout with a long curved handle (only curved at the top, from there on it angles down) at the opposite side. The glass top lid has two sets of draining holes, one small on one side and another larger set at the other side.
The strainer basket (which features a convenient lift up handle) has rather large openings, so I wouldn't plan on using it for noodles and so on. But that's where the strainer lid comes in very handy. With the strainer in place, this pot would be great for cooking asparagus, broccoli, carrots, corn on the cob and, of course, eggs (as previously mentioned)! And even though it can easily be referred to as an asparagus cooker, it is very versatile and has many uses.
All handles (pot, strainer, and lid) are covered with red silicone to keep them comfortably cool--I believe that is the only color it comes in. To me, it has a very contemporary, European look. It looks very elegant on my stove, which is where I keep it all the time.Seriously, this is one of the handiest pots ever for your small burner. It quickly became my favorite for 4 reasons. #1 It's so handy, you can steam veggies (basket is large enough to steam enough for 4), cook pasta, steep tea, sanitize, and the list can go on and on. #2 The handle is covered with a coating that just doesn't get hot if correctly placed over my gas burner. #3 It's small enough that it fits perfectly when I am using my 12" skillet on the front burner!! #4 It's so darn cute! Bright shiny stainless steel with just a touch of color on the handles and clear glass lid make it eye candy just doing it's job. You will not regret this purchase and will wonder what you EVER DID WITHOUT IT!

Cuisinart BDH-2 Blade and Disc Holder
This is a handy addition to the food processor. If you have one of these, I am sure you might have discovered as I did just how sharp the blades are. I nicked myself more than once trying to grab my blade out of the bowl where I kept all of the attachements for this. This stores all of the basic disks and dough attachment as well as the chopping blade. There is room for one more disk in addition to what comes with the set. This making keeping your blades and disks in a handy place. My only complaint is the latch that keeps it shut, is a little aggrivating. You must twist the latch by pulling it out, and not just to the side. I couldn't think of a better way to keep everything together!This product works well in storing your blades and other parts, but good luck getting them out of there! Once the top closes, it locks shut, preventing your items from jumping out? In order to unlock the lid you have to pull this teeny tiny knob and then turn it WHILE you are pulling. The problem here is that there is no grip on this knob, and if you are in the kitchen, half the time your hands are soaking wet or greasy, so with no grip on this knob, you can run into some trouble. To alleviate this problem, I've replaced the knob with one similar to that of pin ball shooter, it has a convex shape with a knob at one end, giving you better leverage when opening the lid.There is just one last thing I will say about this too, BE CAREFUL WHEN PICKING IT UP. Don't put your hand through the bottom like I did and slice open your finger!!! There is no base to the base of this product, meaning when you pick it up from the bottom, all the blades are protruding from beneath it!
I'm giving this thing 2 stars, one for doing it's job of storing things, and one for the price. The other three missing stars are for the horrible design flaws in this item.

I am disappointed in several aspects of this item. The first is that the cutting accessories for the DLC-5 Cuisinart do not fit in the box, despite being shown as an accessory for this processor on Amazon. Additionally, it is quite large and bulky, requiring more space than the food processor itself!Most importantly, I specifically purchased this item after reading reviews about how sharp the Cuisinart cutting blades are and how great the Blade and Disc Holder is for keeping the blades away from children. This is *not* a child-proofing device. The entire bottom of the "box" is open. While the cutting edges are protected when the holder is locked and sitting on a counter or table top, you can easily cut your fingers by picking up the holder and sticking your hand inside through free access on the bottom side.I like being organized as well as the next person, but based on the other reviews warning that this holder does not fit the blades for all Cuisinart models, you might consider doing what I have done for the last 20 years. I bought a small, rectangular plastic basket for about a dollar, and simply store my discs and blades in that. The discs sit vertically in the basket, and it's easy to pluck out the one I need. Simple and inexpensive solution!

Oneida Dickinson 3-Piece Serving Set
All 3 items functioned as advertised. The fork had little pointy things on it to allow one to easily pick up small items on the plate. The fork, however, was not very efficient for soups. It took a LONG time to finish a bowl of soup using the fork, and even longer using the knife. The spoon seemed to work far better at this operation. The knife excelled at spreading butter, and at cutting big things into smaller pieces. After getting my hands dirty and even burning them a few times, I discovered I could hold down a big piece with the pointy things on the fork and cut them with the knife at the SAME TIME.United Cutlery UC2679 Prince of Persia Sands of Time Dagger

The description for this product is incorrect. Knork makes either an 18/0 or 18/10. For this price, this is the 18/0. The other is twice as expensive. I own this product in the latter, better quality version and love it. I am sure the 18/0 is fine as well, but people should be informed about their flatware before buying. I like the weight of the product, the ergonomic feel in my hand, and most of all...MY SILVERWEAR DOESN'T BEND! Held up to my old stuff, there is a clear difference in the luster. But don't take my word for it....From FoodServiceWarehouse.com:
If a product has the number 18/10 located in its spec, there is 18 percent chromium and 10 percent nickel content. If the product has an 18/0 construction, there is 18 percent chromium with zero nickel matter. The 18/10 and 18/0 specifications are simply figures that illustrate the percentages of chromium and nickel content present in the stainless steel. Chromium is a hard metallic substance that helps increase product hardness. Nickel is defined as a silvery metallic element that helps resist corrosion.
18/10
* Brilliant luster
* Rust-resistant material
* Durable construction
* Easy to maintain
18/0
* Soft shine
* Zero nickel content
* Economical design
* Subject to staining For years I have heard my husband's complaints about our cutlery. "It's off balance, it falls off the plate, it falls out of my hand..." Kind of tongue-in-cheek, my sister and I were looking online for cutlery for the disabled (no, he isn't) and came across the 'Knork' cutlery. I ordered this set and now my husband won't use anything else. I have to say I like it too. It has a silky finish and a good weight. The fact that one utensil can serve for most meals is a bonus, but I especially like the way it looks. I can heartily recommend it!

While the 18/0's have no nickel to prevent corrosion, my 20 piece Knorks have never rusted. Of course, it helps that I don't leave my dirty flatware lying in pools of dirty water in my sink! If you're lazy, you might want to go with the 18/10's. For those of you who clean as you go, these are just fine. Clean them before you go to bed, place them in your rack and they'll go rust free forever.Being that the chromium gives the flatware its hardness, you will find the 18/0's just as sturdy and hefty as the 18/10's. I prefer the matte finish so shine is not an issue (yeah, the nickel in the 18/10's impart a brilliance that the 18/0's lack). While the $80 price range isn't awful, you can find a better deal from time to time. I found mine for almost half the regular price. Sometimes you just get lucky!

I have purchase these directly through Knork.net, and got the 18/0 Satin Finish sets (x2).Looking at their video and how they describe the no need for knife was the thing that really made me wanted these flatware. Very excited from the looks of it because it looks high quality.
I was very very disappointed when these went through the first wash cycle. Right out of the box, straight into my new dish washer (installed 2 days prior). Used Finish dish washing detergent, and had Jet Dry in also. When it was finish, I took the flatware out. It was still hot to the touch. What I saw amazed me. 3 out of the 2 sets (2 spoon and a fork) had rust stain on them. Wasn't there when it went in, but there when it came out. Used a cotton cloth to try to remove as much as possible. Have permanent stain on them now. 2 weeks in, spotted another spoon with the same issue. Been a Knork owner for 2 months now, and still spotting these issues once in a while and needed polishing after wash to remove these stains. For the price, I could have gone to Target and gotten something for $20 and would last longer than this. (Actually previous set was from Target (~$22) and lasted 5 years before seeing any issues).
I would not recommend this product to anyone because of my experience. But I can not discount the fact that the forks can cut through steak by rocking it back and forward. And I am sure this idea will be copied by some other brand and sells it at a fraction of the price. Wait for that.
Victorinox Cutlery 10-Inch Curved Cimeter, Black Fibrox Handle
I'm a meat cutter for a large chain store on the east coast. Short and to the point, these knives hold a good edge and my Master Butcher swears by them, he handed some down to me and I understand why.All knives require maintenance, make sure you learn how to actually sharpen a knife, keep your knife steeled and make sure to care for your steel too. I use emery 120 grit on my steel. Works like a charm.I use this beast to break down large pieces of hog-sides for bacon. Excellent knife, and sharp. Look in any place that does some butchering and you will see this bad boy laying somewhere around a counter.

My husband loves this knife. He said it cuts fabulously however because of it's odd shape, it is hard to store. If it came with its own storage sleeve, it would be perfect.Read Best Reviews of Victorinox Cutlery 10-Inch Curved Cimeter, Black Fibrox Handle Here

If you are like me with a more "rustic", "old world" theme to your home, than you know how difficult it is to find flatware to fit your romantic ideas of days long gone and your modern life with dishwashers! Well, I found these and they have been fantastic! They fit perfectly with my huge antque oak dining table and I can dress them up or down depending on the occastion. They are all one piece instead of a spoon or fork piece attached to the handle; another feature I really liked. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that once in a while, the handles will develop a very minute amount of rust, likely from multiple trips through the dishwasher. This is easily remedied by a bit of baking soda and they are like new!I have had this same flatware for several years now and was adding more to my existing set. I love this flatware because it feels heavy duty and looks nice for years with proper care.Buy Gourmet Settings Twist and Shout 20-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 4 Now
We've enjoyed this rustic flatware for well over a year now and it still not only looks like new, but gets rave reviews/comments from house guests everytime we entertain. It fits in beautifully with our antique decor.Really like this set of flatware because it looks like it was hand made and one-of-a-kind. Just adding to my set which I've had for 8 years, and it still looks great even after running it through the dishwasher for all these years!Pros: Looks hand-forged.
Cons: None

Norpro Icon Cut N Slice Flexible Cutting Boards, Set of 3
I was really leery about these mats, but find we are using them every day. They wash well in the dishwasher. Their flexibility is great while cooking... especially when you're putting cut up food into very hot pots. They take up virtually no room to store.Maybe I'm lucky, but Amazon shipped these in a flat box, instead of rolled up. So, the mats go back to laying perfectly flat after temporarily curling them to carry chopped veggies. Like competition brands, they work very well as cutting boards.Semi transparent to show the counter top underneath, which is great only if the counter tops themselves look nice :). Understated designs without technical pie charts, and cheap enough to leave out for placemats under the flour crockery. A stack of 3 are still thin enough to stack on top of our pull out cutting board and still be able to slide the board back in for storage out of sight.

I have been using several sets of flexible cutting mats, but love this particular new addition to our kitchen because it easily retains its appealing qualities, i.e. smooth, clean appearance and great flexibility.Read Best Reviews of Norpro Icon Cut N Slice Flexible Cutting Boards, Set of 3 Here
Some may call me lazy, others may call me efficient. For me, I just don't like dish washing. In any event, I placed two of these brand new, used-only-once mats into our dishwasher only to find that the product came out looking like a pair of wrinkled jeans.Aside from that, they are great. The small fish/meat/vegetable icons are very useful. Just make certain you know that these mats will have to be hand washed to keep them clean.

I changed to the flexible cutting mats when they first came out and never use the others, ever. These are so easy to just pull out, little space needed, sanitary, fold for spout to pour in bowl. I can use one for cutting veggies, use another to cut meats, another for making pies or cookies...then just rinse and put in top of dishwasher in just a few seconds. I still am using my first set from years ago. No more wooden cutting boards for me.
