If you like to cook and are frustrated by knives that are only medium sharp, you will love this one. I have other Chicago Cutlery knives (the wooden variety), which I generally like for everyday use (they are OK if you are consistent with sharpening them), but they are not nearly as sharp as this one, which I have never needed to sharpen. You have to be careful using it if you are used to average knives. It's razor-sharp, with a heavy, solid, well-balanced handle, and at this price it's a steal (as I recall, Kohl's originally sold it for about $25). It also makes a nice gift in the gift box. The only other caution is to avoid using it for other, non-culinary purposes (e.g., woodworking, prying something open), because the tip may break off, leaving the knife still serviceable, but rather lacking in aesthetics. This is my favorite knife ever.Landmark 4.5" Utility Knife with Gift Box

In my quest to find a suitable replacement for the cheaply-made spatulas that came with my Vitamix blender, I purchased two of these spreaders. I was looking for spreaders that were long enough to reach into the blender containers and I also wanted spreaders that were better in terms of thickness and quality. These turned out to be perfect replacements. The length is ideal and, unlike the original spreaders that came with my blender, they are NOT flimsy at all. I also like the smooth, nonstick surface and they seem to be resistant to staining. I've been using these for several months now and I'm very happy with them.Bought this because the spatula we were using to apply mayo went missing. Getting down into those large containers and scooping up the last dollops for a sandwich can get messy with a spoon, and a small rubber scraper just doesn't spread like it should. Was pleasently surprized when this 'ZipFlip' arrived because it was plenty long, had a cutting edge for cakes, and was robust as far as heft was concerned. This is one of those kitchen helpers that you will see advertized or even notice it in the store but aren't hit immediately with the vision of how it could make life easier as you cook. But once it finds a place in your gadget drawer you will find it indispensible for all those odd jobs that require venturing into the bottom of jars, pans ( a really good 'Bundt pan' scraper ), cans and smearing icing on cakes (especially cupcakes).
Handy, well made, versatile and it cleans up easily in the dishwasher. Like I said, indispensible.
I plan on buying another.

A good product. I had a larger one I used for flipping eggs and it worked well. This one is very narrow and will be used for icing cakes. It is nice and you can use both ends. It is also easy to clean and lasts a long, long time.It is so much easier to deal with. I have high-priced steel and wood utensils, but much prefer working with the silicone variety. This spreader is sturdy and gets the job done. I love that it is quite and easy to clean and just wipe dry. The grip and ease of use is great too.Well made and designed. I've never had a spatula/icing spreader with a blade as long as this one--makes it very easy to use and clean up.Neon Green Plastic Cutlery (51)

I love this knife. It's razor sharp, and the shape is perfect for me, which I prefer over the classic shape. The knife stays clean, it's easy to hold, and the plastic handle is better than wood, since it won't rot and has texture for a good grip. There's absolutely nothing to dislike about this knife, and I like everything about it.
However, note that the blade is pretty thin (and very sharp), so don't use it to pry things open or apart. That's what screwdrivers are for. :-)
Screwpull Table Model Opener
I have owned this wine opener since the early 1980s...Yes, the same one! It is so easy to use and (obviously) durable. Highly recommended. After 6 months, it broke. One of the long tines/forks cracked in half. "Amazon" said return it to the manufacturer in South Carolina---which I did via USPS with a tracking number...And the story ends there! Nothing EITHER YES OR NO FROM SCREWPULL(Le Crueset, actually). You are better off buying from a retail outlet where you have some leverage, and they stand behind what they sell!Buy Screwpull Table Model Opener Now
The best corkscrew. Had one for 8 years. When it finally cracked, after much good use, we just had to replace it. Have never thought of buying another.I bought this corkscrew for a friend because my husband has one and it's fantastic. My friend said she loves it it's so easy to use.We love our simple Screwpulls (friends have broken several over the years, because they did not ask how to work it, so we keep buying new ones). But the most recent one does not say Screwpull on the side it says "Le Creuset." And in opening one kind of bottle (it happens to be the tall Toasted Head Chardonnay bottle), the hub on the side which holds the opener against the bottle rim is slightly larger, and will not permit the cork to come out, without rocking the opener sideways. It works fine on all the other wine bottles I have tried. My old one says "Screwpull" with the little circled R after, and it works perfectly. I wonder if this is this a newly-engineered style? I like the old one better.LamsonSharp 6-Piece Serrated Steak Knife Set
The knives are very nice, well made, and cut extremely well (watch your fingers). The packaging is terrible; two pieces of cheap cellophone tape holding the cheesy box together. The cello tape broke and the knives rattled around during shipment causing several nicks and dings on blades and rosewood handles. Most importantly, Lampson does NOT cover any of their serrated knives for the Sharp for Life guarantee. I checked their SFL return form on the Lamson website, and then emailed Lamson to verify that these knives are all you get no resharpening ever.
Five stars for the knives, two stars for the packaging and shipping, zero stars for the false advertising.
Upsate 21 June, 2013. The "Sharp for Life" reference was removed. The packaging is most likely still lousy ask the vendor before you buy (although since it's shipped by Amazon there's probably nothing the manufacturer or vendor (CM) can do about it at this point.Love the knifes. Zyliss Apple Divider
This is an excellent and attractive apple slicer that works as well or better than every other slicer I've had. Zyliss produces kitchen utensils that show real thoughtfulness in the design, and this utensil reflects the company's general commitment to that ideal. The only possible way to improve it might be to rubberize the handles (I think Oxo does this), but in my opinion such modifications have little marginal value while adding unnecessarily to the cost. The color, by the way, is a nice way to brighten up one's kitchen. These days, I prefer some departures from a regimen of black, white, and stainless utensils.I was excited when I received the slicer thinking it would end my frustration when eating apples (biting with upper dentures & cutting with arthritic hands). To my dismay I did not have the strength to force the slicer through the apple. Not the fault of the divider, just keep in mind if purchasing for younger child or older persons' use. My adult son used it without a problem. When looking for an apple slicer we looked for one that was sturdy and functional. We have a variety of Zyliss products and knew from experience with those that Zyliss = Quality. We were not disappointed. With 5 bushel boxes of apples to process this divider made it easier. Last night my sweetheart made a delicious apple crisp!

This seems to be a sturdy gadget. Well made and the blades are tough and sharp. My only complaint is that you have to place the apple somewhat on a low level to be able to get enough weight on it to slice. At least I do. I put it on a plate in the sink and in about three seconds the apple is cored and nicely sliced. Sure beats messing with a knife.I feel it's a smart purchase if you enjoy fresh apples and want them sliced in perfect slices.

this is a great buy for the price. I would buy another one when needed. I got this for a chrismas gift.I had this type in the 80's and it got lost this is a fantastic knife and would recomend to everybodyOK, here it is. I had 3 ginsu knives that all came up missing after I moved. Thats why I ordered 2 more of them. I have had them since the 1980s. Seen them at the state fair being demonstrated. Believe me they have performed exactly as they claimed they would. I have sliced frozen meat with them many times and yes, they will slice a thin tomato perfectly after slicing the frozen meat. I am 66 years old and will have one till I die. They are worth every penny I have spent on them. We still have our original Ginsu set from the 80's which includes this slicer. I Think it has sliced 1,798,326 slices of bread, 965,231 slices of tomatoe and 3,569,212 slices of celery. It still looks like new, is sharp and gets plenty of use. Who would have thunk that this gimmicky, inexpensive knife was for real back then?... I didn't.Wonderful knife, they are the best on the planet. handle too shortridge is for right handed people not left
okay knife but nothing special still prefer my old henckel 8 inch chefFirst Wusthof I ever bought, last one I'll ever buy. I tried it once and sent it back. I guess I should've assumed that ridge was only on the right side and since I am left handed, it was useless. It's a great design, that little ridge to "push" food away when slicing but it's useable with the right hand only.
Also, the cut-outs... very rough edges which means the food I was cutting got caught in there. And finally for the money I paid, it felt very cheap. Too light, uncomfortable in the hand due to a plastic handle with a seam that was noticeably felt in the hand, just all around huge disappointment.
The seller was very gracious and gave me a full refund when I returned the knife. Although I didn't like the knife, I would absolutely purchase from the seller, Cutlery and More again. Seller packaged item very well and shipped to me very quickly.
Thank you, Cutlery and More you are great :)

Solidly constructed knife, obviously a hallmark of the Wusthof brand. Lighter than some of the other Wusthofs I've used as I normally work with lighter Globals this was a welcomed surprise. This has been my work knife for the past few weeks and I don't have too many complaints about it save for the fact that the manner in which I often cut (that is, with a "claw" like grip on some foods that are harder to stabilize) causes the holes in this knife to chafe the middle part of my middle finger (which I use as a sort of guide when chopping/slicing).Also, and this is a minor thing not really affecting the utility of the knife, but after only about 2 months of use the red "W" brand on the handle/grip of the knife has totally rubbed off. It's just a little silver square now. Thankfully, the blade is branded but still. Slightly sucky.
Overall, I'm not "wowed" by this knife, but cannot find any significant defects either. The special design of this blade is fairly successful at what it claims to do.

This is a very good knife to slice sticky vegetables or fruits like potatoes, apples etc. as they separate very easy from the knife surface. It s not good to fine slice onions using classic techniques.
As I am right-handed this knife is OK for me but it will nor work for left-handed persons. This is the reason of the three stars

The rubber nubs underneath this board appear to be well secured and the product arrived in good shape. I would have preferred a heavier construction however. I bought this to straddle my sink so that I could cut and wash all in the same place. The plastic is thinner and bows when I cut veggies. Good design (large) but too flimsy to rate higher. Kershaw-Shun makes the best knives I've ever owned, bar none. They come with a razor edge and are easy to re-hone with just a few strokes on the Kershaw-Shun steel (well worth purchasing to accompany this set). All their knives utilize the damascus pattern and perfectly crafted profile slice through darn near anything (food-like anyway) with ease. The scalloped detailing on this one creates air pockets which prevent food from adhering to the sides, creating even better cutting efficiency than their already high level. I can cut perfectly thin, beautiful slices from any fish time after time using this fine knife. The weight and balance are perfect. It is designed for right-handed chefs with a d-shaped handle so if you are a leftie it may not be as comfortable or easy to use.I believe if you're serious about cooking, you should own great cookware and excellent knives. I finally stepped up and got excellent knives. For those who haven't heard the hype, Shun is one of the most respected knife brands in the world. Check them out on the Web at kershawknives.com.Great features of the entire line include these cool "D" shaped handles that fit your hand better. Every Shun Classic knife is made in a rightand left-handed version (chefsresource.com for lefties). The handles are made of wood and are specially treated. The steel used for the blades is harder than what you would find in most other knives. The knives are EXTREMELY sharp. One thing to note about Asian knives is that they must be sharpened at a different angle, 16-18 degrees vs. 20 degrees for German knives. The Shun steel takes the guesswork out of getting the angle correct because of the flat edge on one side of the metal disc below the handle.
9-Inch Slicing -This is an impressive knife. It's sleek and sharp like the rest of its siblings. I know the granton edge is supposed to reduce drag, but I'm not certain this is a necessity for a knife I use three times a year. There is a version without the grantons that's a few dollars cheaper.
This is an expensive, but lifetime investment. I encourage you to visit stores and feel the knives in your hand to make sure you are comfortable with them. For more info on Shun, check out Alton Brown's website. For ratings on various brands and types of knives, check out cooksillustrated.coms' equipment ratings.
Shun is probably the best kitchen purchase I've made and the one I'm most proud of.

I'm a big fan of Shun knives and own several other. You could get away slicing meat with a chef's knife, but the low profile and length on this make it much easier. The metal on these knives are brittle, so you need to take care to avoid hitting the fork. Also be sure to cut on wood or plastic only. If it's your first time with a high-quality knife -these things are sharp, so be warned. Electric knives shred the meat and seem to make more juices fall out, not the case with a manual knife like this. Pick up a smooth honing steel if you don't already have one to keep the edge straight.Hamilton Beach Ps Can Opener

Best 10" chef on the market: the Classic line has good handle weight and nice heft, and the scales are medium enough for small/med sized man hands to use with confidence. I find the Grand Prix to be a bit on the big side in the handle dept. Where this knife is a winner is: blade profile, steel characteristics, and edge grind. If you compare this to, say, a Henckles 10" Chef, you'll notice that the Wusthof has a deeper, rounder 'belly.'This roundness enables the knife to rock back and forth (is that 'roll' back and forth?) for dicing with *much* greater ease than the Henckles, which tends to fall to the board and need to be picked up again, again, again.
The Wusthof steel, I think, has a touch more carbon than the Henckles, and a little less Chromium. It takes a second to touch up effort that is rewarded by superior cutting performance, with a higher edge grind. That said it is not fragile.
The Wosthof blade is slightly hollow ground, whereas the Henckles is slightly convex, which causes the Henckles to 'split' more than 'slice' hard vegetables like carrots and radishes. I've been using a 10" on and off since 1989. . . and I love it.There are really two main competitors in the high-end mainstream kitchen knife market: Henckels and Wusthof. Those who have used both usually have a preference. My preference (and therefore bias you should know about) is for the Wusthofs.
The Wusthof Classic line is the more conservative counterpart to the Grand Prix line. The only difference, however, is the handle style. I personally prefer the Grand Prix, but this is an issue of personal preference. The balance and grip of these knives are as close to perfect as I have found. For those wondering what benefits a higher priced knife provides, one benefit is that the blade (or tang) is one piece all the way through the handle. This makes the blade much stronger, and less likely to snap.
This particular model, the 10 inch cook's (or chef's) knife, is a good knife. Wusthof offers four sizes of chef's knives in the Classic line, 5, 6, 8 and 10 inch. For most home cooks, I think the 8 inch knife is the best choice. This knife, the 10 inch, is a bit big for most jobs. The 5 and 6 inch are a bit small for bigger jobs. While the 8 inch isn't perfect for all uses, if you are only buying one size chef's knife (and most people only buy one), the 8 inch is the knife I would recommend.
Therefore, if you are buying your first cook's knife, I would recommend the 8 inch size. This is a great knife, but I don't think the size is right for mainstream users.

Yes, the price of a Wusthof Classic is intimidating, and yes, you will feel buyer's remorse...until you use it for the first time. Even for the casual cook, the difference between a Wusthof and even a middlin' fair brand must be experienced to be appreciated. I bought one for my father (who never gets excited about ANY present, ever) for Christmas; and he hasn't stopped thanking me yet. That in itself made it well worth the price.Read Best Reviews of Wusthof Classic 10-Inch Cook's Knife Here
Review: Wusthof Classic 10" Chef Knife {4 ½ out of 5 stars}I think I've had my knife for about 12 years now, and I use it almost every day. In my case, the 10-inch size was the optimal fit for me, and it's easily the best chef knife I've ever owned. It's sturdy, ergonomic, well balanced, takes a good edge, and is very attractive ... but it does have a few minor quirks.
The Good:
* CURVE: The gentle progressive curvature of the forward half of this blade works better for me than certain other knives I've used (some of them not curved enough, and others too curved). For the uninitiated, the curve is there so that people who've learned the proper cutting stroke can use the knife in a nice smooth fluid action ... similar to the horizontal elliptical motion your foot follows on an elliptical trainer (hence its name).
* STRENGTH: This is a sturdy blade, with a full length tang, medium spine, and a full bolster that gives the blade ample strength, and it's high-carbon surgical steel gives it a good balance of hardness, stain resistance, and sharpenability. Jam it into a large butternut squash or a wax-hardened bowling-ball-sized turnip, and throw your weight on it, or bang away on the spine with a rubber mallet, and it'll get the job done ... it'll flex and vibrate, but it won't shatter. Sharpen it, and it'll take a fine edge, and sustain it for a decent length of time, even with heavy use.
* SHARPENING: I've used some blades that are so thick that they split harder vegetables rather than slicing them, and leave wedge-crumpled top edges on delicate items. Picture using an axe blade to dice potatoes and slice fish fillets and you'll get an idea what I mean about thinness/taper. This blade offers a decent cross-sectional diameter and taper that allows it to take a good edge and cut a good spectrum of items with ease, without sacrificing too much strength by being overly thin, or too much precision by being overly thick ... it's not perfect, but it's definitely very good. {Incidentally, I use a pair of large sharpening ceramic stones made by "Global", in both medium and fine grain}.
* HANDLE: People are funny about handles, and opinions vary wildly, depending on people's hand size, hand strength, cutting motion, aesthetic sense, etc. I happen to like the classic handle ... it's not so round that it impairs your sense (and control) of the blade's vertical direction, and it's not so flat that it's uncomfortable to grip. It's strong, stainproof, oil-proof, impact-resistant, not-too-slippery, and doesn't harbor bacteria-friendly gouges. For me, it works.
Minor Nits:
THICKNESS/RIGIDITY: Knife makers strive to achieve a good balance between strength & control (read: rigidity) and flexibility & finesse (read: thinness), and different people's preferences tend to fall slightly to one side or the other on that balance point. In my case (and this may seem a tad picayune to some), this blade leans very slightly too far towards the former. IMHO, I think that if this blade were, say, a quarter or a half millimeter thinner, it would be that much closer to perfection ... as is, it's ever so slightly too rigid, and it sometimes tends to split/crumple the top edges when julienning largeish and optimally fresh (read: crisp) carrots and zucchini. It's close ... definitely well above average, but not quite perfect (for me anyway).
FULL BOLSTER: Love 'em or hate 'em, but bolsters do have a valid purpose ... they (as the term suggests) bolster the blade's vertical strength. Gothic cathedrals used flying buttresses to similar effect (albeit in the opposite direction), so they could build taller. However, bolsters also have their drawbacks heavy regular users and professional chefs will usually bring their blades to a professional knife sharpener and have them grind down the edge-ward end of the bolster in order to permit the blade to be sharpened evenly, along it's full length. Why ? Over time, and with heavy regular use and repeated sharpening (especially if you prefer a really wicked-sharp extra-steep edge), a blade slowly gets narrower and narrower with wear ... the edge slowly creeping closer and closer towards the spine, like an incoming tide. If you're a really heavy user, you can expect to lose up to several millimeters per year. The next time you're in a well-established sushi bar, take a close look at the most frequently used knives by the hardest working chefs, and you'll occasionally see blades that have lost half or more of their original width (heck, I've seen henckel 10" slicers worn down so far they look like deboning knives, with the logo spilling off the edge). Anyway, if the bolster extends all the way to the edge, it eventually begins to get in the way of regular wear, tear & regular re-sharpening, so that unless you grind it back (to stay ahead of the recession of the edge), it'll begin to jut out, and the cutting edge will no longer sit flush against your cutting surface or sharpening stone ... kind of like trying to ice skate with a lump on the heel of your blade, or riding a motorcycle with the kickstand down. In any case, that's one of the easiest ways to tell an amateur from a pro is whether or not they've ever had to grind down their bolster.
Despite these 2 minor nits, I can highly recommend this knife ... 4 ½ (our of 5) stars. You really need no other knife than this. Everything from cleaving a melon to brunoising a shallot is easy with this one. Take a steel to it every few days and have it professionally sharpened every six months, and you'll get a lifetime of use out of it.
Chroma 3-Piece Knife Set
These knives are amazingly sharp. They slice through everything with ease. Butterflying a chicken breast was a breeze, the knife sliced through like a razor blade. Even though the handles look like they could be uncomfortable, they fit your hand perfectly. I have also handled these knives wet and I didn't get the feeling that they were going to slip out of my hands. I beleive the pearl between the blade and the handle helped me keep a secure grip while the knife was wet. Overall these knives are terrific and I would recommend them to anyone without hesitating.Beauty, elegance, and balance. I own A LOT of kitchen knives. I'm addicted. The design and thought that went into this knife is amazing. At first, it seems uncomfortable to hold, or weird. But, once you've taken this knife and held it and chop a couple of vegetable, you're hand will quickly form onto the knife as you grip. Your palm will gently rest on it's handle and because of the design, more of your power will be transfered thru the knife and into the vegetable or fruit you are cutting. This knife is beautiful, useful and ergonomic.
Cutco Classic Black Table Steak Knife #1759
I purchased a set of Cutco Knives more than 50 years ago and we are still using them. All have survived the 50 years except the steak knives all of which have lost their handles due to 50 years of daily use and abuse in the dishwasher.I was happy to find them on Amazon. When it arrived we were amazed to find that it was exactly like the ones we purchased 50 years ago.I have had these knives for over 2 years now and they are still going strong like the first day I got them. The handles are ergonomically designed so they fit in your hands really well. Cutco took excellent consideration in designing this knife because it is even balanced in weight. Dishwasher safe! These are knives to be proud of when setting your table and would make a great gift for anyone.
American Metalcraft PPC4 Stainless Steel Pizza Cutter Wheel with Black Plastic Handle, 4-Inch
This is a great sized pizza wheel/cutter and the craftsmanship appears high. Mine was stamped stainless Japan. I feel that the blade is sharp enough to cut through but not too sharp where it would dull quickly. Blade tension is adjustable by tightening the lock nut or loosening it, though I'm not certain if this part of the cutter is stainless, so I'll be hesitant to put it in the dishwasher and will dry right after washing. No need to purchase anything more expensive as this one is ergonomic enough for me and fits the bill at under $10 and certainly better than the 2.5 inch diameter dull and loose blade [riveted so there was no way to adjust] Farberware I was previously using.Chicago Cutlery DesignPro Scalloped Utility Knives, 5-Inch

This was a bridal shower gift, and the packaging was similar to a box that held an oversized tube of toothpaste the 5 serving pieces were stuffed inside of this nondescript box. Each piece was in a plastic sleeve, so it was protected. As an item that cost $100.00, this was not presented in an attractive fashion.
