We received this set as a wedding shower gift, and thought it looked very spiffy on our little home bar. The problem is, the shaker leaked like crazy! Anytime you tried to shake a cocktail in it, liquid would spray all over the kitchen. We wanted to give the shaker one more try, figuring maybe we didn't create the seal properly, but this time...the two pieces were stuck together completely and would not come apart! AND IT STILL LEAKED.We both tried forever to get the thing open (my husband's no small guy, and he couldn't do it either) but finally we gave up and threw it in the trash. The other pieces that come with this set are fine, and the shaker stand now holds our old, mis-matched cocktail shaker. But what good is the set if the most important piece is a dud?

Unfortunately the company didn't have the guts to raise the price directly, so instead they've cut costs by making 'em much thinner and much thinner thereby increasing their profits-'cuz they charge the same amount! If I'd known I certainly wouldn't have bought 'em.

These products are fabulous! We got a set of two forks and spoons and used them over the course of our two little ones early eating months. Now they've graduated to metal, but for the first year of feeding, these are wonderful! To summarize:Nice spoons. Useless forks. Use wood conditioner to make them last.

I ordered this Bambu set (2 spoons, 2 forks) on Amazon 3 years ago for my first child. I've used them for 2 children so far. I wanted something softer than stainless steel that didn't involve plastic. The spoons were great for most things, but the forks are pretty much useless...they won't pierce anything and so we hardly ever used the forks.
After constant use, the spoons did get rough and sharp around the edges although they didn't totally splinter. To prolong their life, I occasionally buffed them with a generic food-grade wood conditioner that I use on my wooden cutting boards. The more frequently you use the conditioner, the more it helps smooth out the roughness. Bambu makes a wood conditioner called Bamboo Goo (Bambu Bamboo Goo 8-Ounce Nourishing Oil, Natural) that you can use on these utensils, but any food-grade wood/bamboo conditioner should work.
The spoons also occasionally served as teething toys when the kids were sprouting teeth. Now that both children are using stainless steel utensils, these Bambu spoons and forks have become part of their play kitchen toys.
All in all a nice purchase although I would recommend only the spoons and not the forks.

The spoon of this set is perfect for little onesnot too much volume in the payload area, and a good shape. I haven't tried the fork, but it seems like it would be able to spear or pierce soft foods (cooked veggies like potato, pumpkin, etc) but I don't know about harder foods like a veggie with a membrane or meat. The handles are curved and seem to be a good shape for little hands, and don't seem flimsy. They are meant to be handwashed, so those who say they splinter may be treating them roughlymine are ok after months.

These have all of the qualities that I was looking for in measuring cups, that some others do not always have.They are made of a hard plastic, so they are stiff and sturdy, but not flexible.
The handles are a little shorter than most, only 2 inches long, but it is just fine for me. (I have shorter fingers.)
They snap together at the handles for easy storage, taking up little space at 3 inches high altogether.
And then, I like that they pop apart for individual use, no ring or clip in the way holding them together like others have.
The measurements are on the handles, and they are raised markings, which is what I wanted, because the painted on measurements always wear off and become unreadable. But keep in mind, these markings are raised from the plastic, so they white on white, and that might be hard to see for some people, so that may be undesirable for you.
Set includes: 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 cup. They are compact sized as individual cups, and also when stacked together, though a bit taller, but I like that they are not so wide as others. Cup sizes range from about 2-3 inches in diameter, and 1-3 inches in height. The measurements are also marked in smaller print in ml: 60 ml, 80 ml, 125 ml, 250 ml.

We have a nicer set of measuring cups (though I can't really tell the difference) that we use for baking, and we purchased this additional set for measuring out our two puppies' dry kibble (don't want to mix the people and pet measuring tools!). They are sturdy, have lasted through the dishwasher, and seem to be accurate. The price is right!

These are the cheapest knockoff of Laguiole knives. The handles are plastic and blades can be bent in half by hand! Completely disgusted with this product!
Update... While I am still unhappy with my purchase, I would like to clarify that the company I purchased these knives from did agree to a refund. I actually heard back from them in less than 20 minutes! I am well pleased with the customer service I am receiving and will continue to do business with this company in the future.

Commentary from an Arizona rancher who eats a lot of meat: The (Multi-Colored) Jean Dubost Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knives are attractive, well balanced, and affordable. When cutting into natural stone plates they STAY SHARP unlike a lot of other supposed-to-be steak knives. STOP BUY THESE! Need I say more? Haven't you bought them yet? DO IT!
Ginsu Sofuto Series Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel 4-Piece Wasabi Style Steak Knife Set 5828
The good: This is an ok knife set considering its price. It has a handle that is coated with a semi-soft nonslip grip and unlike many other steak knives, it is not serrated (which I like). So it's functional enough as a steak knife.The bad: The set I received had one defective knife. The handle had a tilt upwards and was not aligned with the axis of the knife like the other three. So I returned it and got a replacement which was even worse.
The ugly: The title (at this time) says: "Ginsu Sofuto Series Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel 4-Piece Wasabi Style Steak Knife Set" and the description says: "Sofuto Series blades are made from Japanese 420J2 stainless steel that is well known for strength and sharpness". Now what exactly do you understand from this? If you think that you are buying a Japanese knife you will be surprised. Apparently it must mean that Japanese "style" steel is used because on the package it says it is made in China. I have nothing against China made stuff but I do not like the fact that "Japanese" is reiterated in the title and description while there is no mention that this is not a Japanese made knife. Draw your own conclusions.
I bought three sets of these; initially one blue set and one of the yellow (reviewed here). The blue turned out ok. The yellow set had a defective knife. Amazon accepted it back and I got a replacement which was even worse. The replacement also had a similarly defective knife, but in adition one of the knives had a cut on the soft material of the handle, and all of the handles were dirty (the blades only were in plastic, the handles were not protected). All of these sets were apparently sold by different or on behalf of different people on Amazon. So please note that this may be a problem with the yellow sets and may not be for the blue.
All in all it is an ok knife for the price but that is all. It does not compare to way more expensive brand knives that either have sealed seams or no seams (to prevent buildup of bacteria in the seams etc) but then they cost a fraction of those and they are still well functional. If the descriptions were more appropriate then I would feel much better about purchasing them (because right now I am really ticked off by these marketing gimmicks).

These knives are sharp and of excellent quality. I have used them mainly for slicing fruits and vegetables. The few times I used them on meats were easy. I think as long as I follow the directions in caring for the knives, they will last a long time.

I purchased this knife because it was supposed to be ceramic with a sharp point. The ad showed a picture with a sharp point on the knife. I was extremely disappointed when I opened the package and saw that the knife had a rounded point. Nowhere in the ad was there any mention of the point only the picture. I will not be returning the knife because I will not pay shipping to return it and have nothing to show for my money. I love these because they are fun, but they don't hold up forever. I have a tiki themed motorhome that i use these in. Since they just get occasional use they are fine. I had some that i used in the house for regular use and after a couple months the handles start to fall off. I regret ordering these -we just got these a few weeks ago for outdoor eating, and four forks have snapped in half already. I cut my finger when one of them snapped in my hand while holding a piece of meat to cut. Unless you're just eating soft food, I don't recommend this product at all.

I really wanted to purchase a small chef-type knife that would last me the rest of my life, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. The "small" chef knives I found were still too big--it's just me and my cat; I only need something to cut small amounts of vegetables, meat, or pizza--so I took a chance with this set. I bought it mainly for what they're calling the "utility" knife. I was a bit reluctant because I wanted something with a solid steel handle since the handles on my last sets kept coming off. Wood and plastic handles just don't seem to stay secured well.However, I was very pleased with this set. The handles are attached very well; I don't think they will ever come off. The blades are nice and sharp, and although I bought it mainly for the utility knife, I'm finding I'm using the others just as much. The bird's beak parer works great for cutting cheese. The other is great for cutting small vegetables, such as mushrooms. The one disadvantage I did find is it's not so great at cutting meat, and I have to be very careful so the blade doesn't slip and get me. Fortunately, I don't cut meat very often, and when I do, I can cut it when it's still a little frozen and easier to slice.
It does a great job of cutting pizza. Since it is just me and the cat, I can save money by buying regular size pizzas, cut off a couple of slices, and stick the rest back in the freezer for another meal. This allows me to stretch the cost of a good quality frozen pizza over three or four meals.
Zwilling JA Henckels Professional "S" Utility Set
I wanted a serrated knife dedicated to cutting Spanish meats that I buy from from a local specialty market. I own other Henckels knives so I know they make a sharp, quality knife. I came across this set and found out the same knife by itself from Amazon is $57! With this set, you get the same $57 knife, shears and a cutting board for less than the price of the knife alone. I jumped on it and purchased this item even against the review about the board cracking. To remedy that, I just bought some Joyce Chen bamboo oil for the board and I have not had a problem. The knife is just what I expected from German quality knives. The shears are great too plus made in Germany (they go for $20 here on Amazon). The board is approximately 12"x10" and it is made in China. I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a great serrated knife for cutting everything from meats to fruits/veggies.

This is a cool knife, half cleaver and half chef's knife. Although, generally you use it more like a knife, because a cleaver doesn't have a bevel edge. The thing about this knife is that it is sharper than any steel, due to being ceramic. The blade is very wide too. If you slipped with this knife, it would make a horrifically deep cut. Since it is so damn sharp, I've been using mine to cut things. Haha. It is good for cutting ribs off a rack. The handle is unconventional, but you can get used to it. Overall, if you want to try a ceramic knife, this one is not bad. If I could change it I would make the point a bit more pointy, get rid of the bevel edge, and put a conventional handle on it.
