Thomas O'Brien by Reed & Barton Austin Bee Stainless Steel Spreaders, Set of 4

Thomas O'Brien by Reed & Barton Austin Bee Stainless Steel Spreaders, Set of 4Seem to be good quality. Bought these as a test to determine whether or not to spring for 8-10 place settings...I suppose I can't avoid CHINA printed on some things and I will not buy Chinese made anything if I have a choice. In this case, the word CHINA is boldly etched onto the blade. Some makers print nothing on some flatware pieces, but this maker prints in-your-face on each piece. I don't want to be reminded each time I see a piece, that I violated my own "rule" to buy nothing made in China. So, no more purchases of this line made by our economic adversary and probably, someday, our serious military, economic and social enemy.

These are heavy and very nice. They feel really good in my hand and seem well-made and built to last.

Kyocera Revolution Series 3-1/7-Inch Paring Knife, White Blade

Kyocera Revolution Series 3-1/7-Inch Paring Knife, White BladeThe fact that you are even reading this suggests that you already know the arguments in favor of ceramic knives. Ceramic knives are harder than steel knives, can be made much sharper than steel knives, hold their edge ten times longer than steel knives, are lighter than steel knives, won't brown foods, transfer a metallic taste or smell, or rust.

You probably also know the disadvantages of ceramic knives. Unlike steel knives ceramic knives can chip or break so you want to avoid dropping them, tossing them in a sink or kitchen drawer, or arguably even washing them in a dishwasher. (Most ceramic knives come in fitted plastic packing material that can be saved, or you can store them in something like this Kyocera Bamboo 3-Slot Knife Block.) If you actually succeed in dulling a ceramic knife, it will need to be professionally sharpened, though Kyocera has come out with a sharpener for home use: Kyocera Electric Diamond Knife Sharpener for Kyocera Ceramic Knives. Unlike steel knives ceramic knives cannot flex without breaking so there can be no such thing as a ceramic boning knife, and you only want to use ceramic knives to cut boneless meats. Finally, although using a proper cutting board is a good idea with fine steel knives, it is an absolute requirement with ceramic knives; using a ceramic knife to cut something on a plate is an absolute no-no.

So the only remaining question is whether to go cheap: Harbor Freight Tools Ceramic 3 Inch Paring Knife or expensive: Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Black Handle, and due to the fortuitous timing of a couple of good sales I can offer an opinion.

Blade: The Harbor Freight blade is double bevel ground while the Kyocera Revolution blade is chisel ground. Along with Kyocera's claims that its micro-grain ceramic is more dense than its competitors, this should result in a sharper blade, but any difference was too subtle for me to detect. Both knives will be MUCH sharper than any steel knife you are used to, cutting through citrus rinds (and even seeds!) like butter.

Handle: Both the Harbor Freight and Kyocera Revolution have superficially similar ergonomic handles, but I noted a couple of significant differences. In the Harbor Freight the finger guard is part of the handle while in the Kyocera Revolution it is part of the blade. Surprisingly, I found the Kyocera Revolution handle a bit slippery, which in light of the consequences of dropping it is significant. The tackier surface of the Harbor Freight handle provided me with a surer grip.

Color: The Kyocera Revolution paring knife is available in five other handle colors:

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Blue Handle,

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Green Handle,

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Orange Handle,

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Red Handle,

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Yellow Handle,

and one other blade color:

Kyocera Revolution Series Ceramic 3 1/7 Inch Paring Knife Black Handle, Black Blade;

the Harbor Freight paring knife is available in any handle color,...

as long as it is black.

Sharpening: If you manage to dull your Kyocera Revolution knife, Kyocera will sharpen it in return for shipping and handling; if you manage to dull your Harbor Freight knife, you are on your own.

Price: This obviously varies but in most cases you can expect to pay between twice as much and four times as much for the Kyocera Revolution paring knife as for the Harbor Freight paring knife.

Note: An inexpensive Kyocera Ceramic Y Peeler in all of the matching handle colors, is also available.

This has become my favorite paring knife. Starts sharp and stays sharp. I've been using it for months now and it clearly outperforms my Four Star J.A. Henckels paring knife. I'm seriously considering replacing all my knifes with ceramics.

The Ultimate Edge Model 2001-8BN 8 Piece Knife Roll

The Ultimate Edge Model 2001-8BN 8 Piece Knife RollOverall I liked this case. It is well made, easy to use and handy. My only complaint is I wish there were a little more space between each knife "pocket". You really need to be careful as larger (chef, etc) knifes end up being close to each other. And if you go to pull one out, you want to really watch what your doing or you could cut yourself on the knife next to it.

If you have 7-8 knifes you might want to get a bigger size and leave some of them empty.

This is a pretty no-frills knife roll, but sometimes that's all you need. I purchased it so I'd be able to transport a couple of knives and other select accessories to and from specific events/places and it works just fine for that. This roll is extremely comparable to the 8-piece Wüsthof roll both in terms of material and layout on the inside (the Wüsthof has two more small pockets for carrying cards/papers inside, if I remember correctly--otherwise they are pretty much the same). The Ultimate Edge is slightly cheaper though, and it comes with a shoulder strap (you have to buy the shoulder strap separately for the Wüsthof), so if you're looking for a small, lightweight knife roll, this one has its bigger name competition beat if you ask me.

I bought one of these for work, and ended up buying two more for co-workers who liked it. It fits 8 pieces, but if your knives have really wide blades they might bump up against each other. I like that the flap zips up around the knives to keep them protected and the mesh zipper pocket holds a lot of little tools. The removable shoulder strap is great too, it lets you use it either way you want.

Very nice knife roll. Bought this for my co-worker as a gift of appreciation. Only complaint would be wishing some of the pockets were a bit deeper. Otherwise nicely made and durable materials. Very professional.

Dexter DuoGlide 5-Inch Mini Chef's Knife, Made of High Carbon Steel with Soft Grip Handle

Dexter DuoGlide 5-Inch Mini Chef's Knife, Made of High Carbon Steel with Soft Grip HandleI purchased this knife for my mom who has arthritis and ordered one for myself at the same time. I liked it so well I ordered one for my college age daughter. It's easy on the hands and performs well. Chopping and dicing is no longer such a chore!

I purchased the 8" Dexter knife 2 years ago when I was having a lot of pain in my hands. Prepping for a nice meal was agony. I eased off other things that would strain my hands, which helped, but this knife allowed me to continue cooking fairly complex meals. This is the BEST KNIFE! And at a very good price. The 5" works well for smaller chopping, dicing jobs. The 8" knife is great for bigger jobs, including carving meat and chopping/slicing larger vegetables or larger quantities. I am so grateful for products like this which help people as they age and joints wear thin. Now I'm buying a second 5" one and a second 8" so that my husband and I can cook together without any hand pain. I like the 5" one for smaller jobs like dicing garlic, slicing avocado, etc. They also are very durable, the handle is water tight and comfortable. If you care well for it, you do not need to sharpen it for a really long time.

Chef'n Leaf Shear Salad Shears, Arugula

Chef'n Leaf Shear Salad Shears, ArugulaI was intrigued by this new kitchen gadget when I first saw it in the beautiful Su La Table catalog. But when my husband monopolized the chopping board one day, I decided to order this because I knew I could slice the veggie with this WITHOUT the chopping board. It cuts leafy vegetable very well and for the stalky part of the lettuce you have to push it to the pivot point of the shears.

Free from sharp knives and chopping board and WON'T RUST. We've used this for about a month and are quite pleased with this spiffy little tool.

Great concept, but poor results. These may be good for snipping herbs or very small items (and can't you do that with your kitchen shears anyway?), but is more trouble than they are worth for lettuce. They are difficult to handle and makes the process of cutting the lettuce VERY SLOW. I like using the plastice "brownie" or lettuce knife and just chop it up that way. Much faster and more effective.

I really like this product. Shipped on time. Works like a charm. Only complaint would be that I wish they were longer.

Really was hoping I would like the salad shears but to me they were worthless! My good ol' kitchen scissors, though not nearly as pretty, did a better job of cutting/shearing the various kinds of lettuce! As for the iceberg lettuce staying greener and not browning up like it always does, I couldn't see that by using the salad shears that mine faired anymore than it usually did -still brown and yucky after a week or so. I sold my shears or did I pitch them -don't know, can't remember but at least they're not taking up space in the drawer anymore.

Star Trek Enterprise Pizza Cutter (Stainless Steel) - Perfect Gift for Trekkies - Live Long And Piz

Star Trek Enterprise Pizza Cutter - Perfect Gift for Trekkies - Live Long And Pizza. If your pizza is as soft as a nebula or as hard as a horta, this cutter is for you (especially if you know what I am talking about!). This is a gift for the ultimate geek, or for oneself, if that ultimate geek happens to be you. Shaped in the traditional NCC-1701 style, the saucer section does double-duty here as the slicing edge no forward phasers or photo torpedos required. In terms of actual pizza cutting, this one fares about as well as any, no real improvement over my more traditional one, but nothing lacking, either. This is a great gift and a great conversation piece, and truly a gift for the Trekker or Trekkie who has everything (and it would be THE gift for anyone who knows the difference between the Trekker and Trekkie!).

Scotty, beam the pizza up now -the ship is ready; engage!

I bought this as a gift for my best friend. He absolutely loved it. He even put a picture of it on facebook, right next to his kid. Now, I'm not saying he loves it more than his kid...or am I? No, of course not, but he loves nevertheless. He uses it all the time, it's not just sitting on a shelf getting dusty. It's very durable and responds well to dishwasher use. For any Star Trek fans or for friends of Trekkies out there and you know who you are, you can't go wrong with this purchase. And no, I wasn't paid for my response; even though it may seem like I was. In fact, Amazon..give me some money.

I bought it as a gift, and the recipient was ecstatic! A worthy gift for any Star Trek fan, or just if you want to add a little sass to your pizza life.

(I know the person has yet to use it -tough decision... Again, the thing is gorgeousbut once they do, I'll update the review if things do go coherently with this review)

I got this pizza cuter for my 39th birthday, and boy was I excited!!!!!! I made homemade pizza the next week to use on its maiden voyage. The cutter fits great into your hand, has a good weight and the blade is sharp as McCoy's wit. The problem starts on the second slice of pizza, when your hand is greasy and there is no guard to keep your hand from pushing into the very sharp blade. I was so exited to use the pizza cutter that I did not realize it had cut deep into my index finger. It was still very much fun and it's so sharp you don't feel the cut into your hand. I have a picture if your interested, but not for public display.

Overall, great looking pizza cutter, really sharp, cuts easily (even into your hand), and will look great on display.

The pizza cutter would get 5 stars, but it lost one star when I cut my finger. Maybe user error, but it was way too easy for my hand to slide into the blade.

Sure, other pizza cutters are efficient, and fit better in the hand, but this is a fun kitchen tool to have, so it's worth having. Also comes in a foam-padded box you can keep to store it in.

Only issue with this tool is that the gap between the wheel and the "bridge" portion is narrow and food gets in there, requiring some attention to clean...Dry immediately after washing to prevent rust spots in the chrome.

Global G-45 - 9 1/2 inch Ceramic Sharpening Rod

Global G-45 - 9 1/2 inch Ceramic Sharpening RodI got my global ceramic sharpening rod at a Williams and Sonoma sale a few years back. It is my first steel. I used to "steel" my knives by using the lowest setting on my Chef Choice 100. The ceramic is more than just a steel which bends the edge of the knife back into place; it gives you a bit of fresh edge so you don't need to sharpen your knives as frequently. It's also faster and *much* less noisy than using the Chef's Choice.

In comparison, I've used a diamond steel while I was visiting a friend's kitchen and was blown away when the fresh edge didn't appear.

And I must thank the knowledgable saleswoman at Williams Sonoma who gave me such good advice.

Works great, but it doesn't get my knifes all the way sharp. I have tried a friend's Global diamond rod and it does make a difference.

Ginsu Kotta Open Stock Series 4-Piece Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel Steak Knife Set with Limited L

Ginsu Kotta Open Stock Series 4-Piece Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel Steak Knife Set with Limited Lifetime WarrantyI purchased a set of these knives between three to four years ago and am just now noticing that they are getting dull. However, I have put 'heavy'/daily use on them and until now they have been the best knives that I have ever had! Considering the price of the knives and how long they last with heavy performance, I still think that they are a great buy and I am going to purchase another set. I should be more descriptive and add that my knives used to cut flawlessly through a tomato but now I have to push in hard and make deep depressions into the tomato before they will pierce the skin. So they will still cut through steak and vegetables, just not like they did when they were new. I have also washed them in a dishwasher and also by hand and never have they rusted. I hope that this review helps someone out!

I'd been dealing with a steak knife set that I hadn't been happy with for a while. Remembering how well the original Ginsu knives had worked, I did some searching and came across this stainless steel set. I took the plunge and ordered a dozen knives, at this price if they were garbage, I'd throw them out. They arrived today and I must say I was quite impressed at the look and feel of them. They have a heftiness to them I was glad to feel, unlike the lightweight set I was about to discard. I tested them on some leftover steak I had in the fridge....they cut it like butter! I'm delighted beyond belief. Sure you can spend 10 times this amount on steak knives, but I doubt you will find ones that do the job better. Looks, feel, quality and a bargin basement price. Trust me!

After the knives I was using all broke, I needed new every day cooking/dining knives. The knives I was replacing had a micro serration design but not as aggressive as my good set that I will describe shortly. I wanted a low cost and durable knife that performed as good as the knives I was replacing. Let me describe my good set, the benchmark I use to compare knives.

The best thing I can compare with is a knife set is I've had for over ten years and still performs great, but I can't seem to find this type any more. This is the knife design I rate all knives I've used against and none have been better. This knife is called TechKnife Classic made by Mendix(have been bought I suspect). These knives have a one side micro serrated edge within macro serrations that appear to be computer optimized in some way because its a very complex multiplexed serration. These knives don't "chop" but rather "saw" food. I routinely and consistently slice onion slices 1-2mm thick and tomato slices 2-4mm thick without even thinking about it. This design will 'saw' through raw beef round roast like bread, but I notice fat will accumulate within the complex serration design and have to be pulled out occasionally. If some one knows where to obtain this design, please reply. But onto to my purchase experience.

First I bought a set of Oneida solid SS single sided serrated steak knives. I was impressed at first of how sharp they appeared to be, but once I used them I realized a single edge common serration design performed poorly to my other knives of past. Onion slices were ragged and the slicing was difficult to control. Tomatoes were much better, but again meat had a torn not sliced quality about it. I took those back.

Then I tried the Ginsu model above. Even though the knives performance was still slightly below the TechKnife design, they actually beat or meet the other micro serration knives I was replacing even thought the blade thickness is a little thinner than I like. Onions are good at 3mm, tomatoes the same. Meat cuts rather cleanly also. I attribute the performance to the fact that even though the serration is a unique take on a conventional serration, both sides of the knife are serrated allowing for very clean cuts. As the knives dull, I would imagine they would still cut rather good because of this also. I would say look no farther for low cost, high performance cutlery for everyday use.

Now I never used a supposedly really good non-serrated blade that can be re-sharpened (mainly because I can't see paying hundreds of dollars for strips of stainless steel), but anything that I had passed down to me of that type performed rather poorly. Granted they may have needed sharpening, but I really can't see investing in a whole knife laboratory to to keep sharp knifes when obviously a technology exists to make really, really good knives that perform quite well for ten years, before you throw them away. I don't believe my good knife set cost more than $100 at the time.

Want Ginsu Kotta Open Stock Series 4-Piece Japanese 420J2 Stainless Steel Steak Knife Set with Limited L Discount?

The Ginsu website says the blades are made of commercial quality, stain & rust resistant, 420 J2 stainless steel that is well-known for it's sharpness and strength. The steel tang extends into the handle.

Of course these aren't the best steak knives on the market, but they are affordable and get the job done. The serrated blades never need sharpening...a plus for me because I always make knives duller when I try to sharpen them. I was surprised to find the knives are a little bit heavy. With 5 months use, I haven't had any problems with rust. I even put them in the dishwasher. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

J.A. Henckels International Forged Synergy 3-Piece Starter Set

J.A. Henckels International Forged Synergy 3-Piece Starter SetI purchased these knives over two years ago, and I am still loving them! As soon as I opened the box I was impressed with how well balanced they are, and how sharp they are. And although other reviews have some complaints about the fact that these Henckels knives are made in China rather than the more expensive ones made in Germany, I have had no problems. They have remained super sharp over the years (yet to be sharpened a single time) and although they have been put into the dishwasher (against both the Mfr recommendation and my own wishes) I have not seen any rust spots as other reviews have mentioned.

They are still excellent and I much prefer them over the cutco brand because of how well balanced they are. My only complaint is that I wish I would have purchased a larger set with a block back in the beginning because I now know how high quality they are. I want the bread knife, santoku, and steak knives to match at a minimum, but to purchase them individually is similar in price to purchasing a set, and I feel like purchasing the full set would be a waste (since I already have these three). What I am saying, is they truly are high quality--go ahead and buy the full set if you need them!

After first opening the package I was very impressed with the weight, the feel of the knives and how extremely sharp they were. Now that I've used them for a few months I'm still impressed with how well they cut but I'm starting to notice rust spots. I have never put them in the dishwasher nor let them soak in water for any length of time. At first it was only the smaller of the knives and though I wasn't happy I could have received a single bad blade. Now all three are showing small rust spots. I have owned much less quality knives and not taken nearly as good care of them and non of the previous sets have rusted. These knives are not worth the money you pay for them. I'm still giving two stars due to the fact that the knives are well balanced and sharp but for this price I would like them to last too.

Yes, yes I read all the reviews bemoaning this set was made in China but bought it anyway and by far, this is the best set of knives I've ever owned, the weight and feel in the hand is superb, and when I first cut vegetables I applied the same pressure I used with my previous knife and the blade shot through the carrots making a bang on my cutting board startling me due to the sharpness and ease of cutting with a real blade. I appears Henckels is mandating strict quality controls in the china facility hey every magically precise iPhone is built in China.

After buying a great serrated JA Henckels knife and having it for a couple years without any problems, I decided to buy these. I've owned them for about four months now. The knives are used about five times a week and always hand washed.

Pros:

VERY sharp They cut through almost everything without any effort. This is the biggest factor for me when buying a knife (obviously). Cuts great through carrots, potatoes, and all fruits and veggies I've tried with it.

Fit great in my hand I have smaller hands and they fit just fine. My husband can also use them without any problems and he has normal sized hands

Look cool

Well balanced

Cons:

Has one very slight discolored spot after a few months of use Looked rust colored, but washed off alright and hasn't come back.

Price I think that the price is a little much. Then again, you get what you pay for.

Overall I would recommend these knives as long as you intend on taking proper care by hand washing and not letting them soak for very long in water.

*UPDATE*

Well, it's been almost two years that I've been using at least one knife twice a week and I have to say that I still love them. I usually let them air dry and once in a while they soak in the sink and I haven't seen any problems with rust. They also are still quite sharp.

InterDesign Twillo Flatware Caddy, Bronze/Sand

InterDesign Twillo Flatware Caddy, Bronze/SandWe live in a small house and have only one drawer in our kitchen. We purchased this to house our silverware to have on our countertop. It is very pretty...the color looks great with the wood of our cabinets and doesn't clash with our stainless steel appliances. We have silverware service for 8, so we do 8 dinner forks in one compartment, 8 salad forks one, 8 teaspoons in one, and 8 tablespoons in the last one. We put butter knives in the back compartment. It fits everything perfectly with room to spare, and looks nice enough to display on the counter without looking dumpy or cheap. Great purchase and a good fix for small kitchens!

I needed this because I lack a drawer in my kitchen for our flatware. It does the job, and looks nice-ish. It is certainly not the standard of class, but it seems much nicer than it looks in the picture. I recommend this if you need a storage unit for your flatware.

This is a very attractive caddy, except...They show the utensils in the front of the caddy, as I would have arranged it, but they put the seam of the mesh down the front, which is very noticeable! I have to have mine turned with the napkin side out to hide the seam. Now the height of the napkins hide the cutlery. Careless construction.

The caddy is a one piece plastic unit with plastic mesh (Nylon) glued to the outside of it. On the one I received the mesh was seamed down the front, and had nylon fringes hanging out around the top and bottom where it was cut and frayed. A little care would have made this much more attractive!

Messermeister Culinary Tweezer, Stainless

Messermeister Culinary Tweezer, StainlessI can't understand the above review... These fish tweezers are hands down, the ABSOLUTE best option available for de-boning fish. I cook fish for a living and i've used several types of tweezers, but it was a revelation when I used these for the first time. What makes these unique compared to other tweezers (or pliers as many people in the industry use), is that they grip tiny pin-bones well without cutting them. If you've ever had to clean trout, you know how frustrating it can be to cut through the tiny bones.

those tweezers are perfect to remove the remainig bones of a salmon after you fillet it, have the right size and resistance to apply the force to retain and pull the bone from the fillet.

Want Messermeister Culinary Tweezer, Stainless Discount?

Got this to replace the rusty trusty generic pliers I use to pull bones from larger fish like salmon, sea bass...the contact point on the tweezers where they meet the bone is flat and not grooved. So a bone that's anchored in a fish slides right through, even with decent pressure on the tweezers. After a few tries, I had brought the pliers back into the kitchen again.

I had seen several recommendations suggesting fish pliers such as the Messermeisters over tweezers, I guess I'll try that route now.

A simple detail that most manufacturers overlook is which side to put the serrations on. Having serrations on the wrong side can cause your steak knife to bind or leave jagged cuts in your food. Eating should be a pleasure, and struggling with your food is scarcely conducive to that. Thankfully, these knives have the serrations on the right hand side (which is the correct side if you're right handed. This will cause the smaller portion to fall away from the larger portion, rather than having the knife bind in your food. A small detail, but one that is easily overlooked.

Yes, these are great on the table, but they're also really quite handy in the kitchen. I find that I reach for these far more often than I would have anticipated. They're perfect for slicing a bagel/baguette, carving a cornish hen, butterflying/pocketing a fillet, and any other number of assorted tasks that you don't necessarily want a larger knife for.

The only failing of this knife is that it makes a terrible paring knife. This can scarcely be counted against it since this knife was never intended to be a paring knife. Nonetheless, several comments have mentioned using it as a paring knife, and I must disagree. The very same serrations that make perfect sense on the dinner table make no sense at all on the kitchen counter. The serrations are then on the wrong side (if you're paring towards yourself) and cause the knife to slip off of the food. If you're right handed, these serrations are great for cutting away from yourself, and terrible for cutting towards yourself.

I have had an identical set for some years now, and though a trifle flimsy, I have not noticed any wear and tear in the handles at all. I only bought another set because they were available at such an excellent price. I feel very confident that I will be using my original set for years to come. And should they ever become lost (which is a much greater danger than them ever wearing out), I will have replacements waiting.

There appear to be several identical sets on Amazon.com right now at different prices. I am unclear if there is any difference, but it would behoove you to search for every version of this set.

I was eating dinner on the couch and accidentally stabbed my hand with a pointed steak knife. About a week later I bought this set. The knifes are much lighter than what I've used at the nice steak houses. They don't appear that sharp but they're awesome for cutting through a steak. These are the only knifes I use for eating dinner.

Not particularly fancy or elegant but these knives get the job done very nicely. They make short work of even cuts of meat that aren't so tender. I like the rounded, blunt tips of this design as I don't see any advantage to the pointed tips most steak knives come with. As the other reviewer noted they are handy in the kitchen too for slicing smaller baked items that my normal bread knife would be too large for. Four stars because of the price only.

Fiesta Plum 5-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 1

Fiesta Plum 5-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 1We have a nice set of china and silverware for the dining room but had an awful mishmash of mismatched flatware & "dishes" for the kitchen table. Since Fiesta had a huge old sale recently, we decided to back up the truck and buy an entire set of dishes. We were extremely impressed by the quality and decided to give the flatware a try. Not only does it look obsessively compulsively perfect with the dishes but it actually feels good in your hand. They are really well made! They come with a 25 year warranty too. Buy this stuff on sale and you'll be glad you did. It makes our kitchen look so happy it is like Disney world exploded in our kitchen cabinets!

I received this flatware set today and opened it to find it matched my fiesta heather plates perfectly, but was not dark like fiesta plum dishes are. There were also some sharp metal edges peaking out from the end caps near the base of a spoon and a fork. I have 5 other colors of this type of flatware that match the stated color perfectly so I will try another order in case these ones were just marked wrong. If they arrive without the sharp edges, I'll live with the shade problem if it's still apparent.

The plum color is exquisite and is beautiful next to any other Fiesta ware color in a place setting. This long lasting flatware won't let you down.

Opinel Classic Kitchen Knife No120

Opinel Classic Kitchen Knife No120Great knife, really. I love simple, but very comfortable comfortable handle construction and wood quality. Stainless steel blade is just great, it holds sharpness long time like much more expensive knives I used. Highly recommended!
