It's ok for the price. I bought it primarily to scrape hides and it works well enough. The blade will take a nice edge but doesn't hold it well.

I bought this knife in the past and was impressed with it. When I saw that there were other styles, I ordered them from Amazon. They hold an edge far longer then other more expensive knives.

OXO and another brand's were useless after first use. This one was like the older plastic cutting boards it is replacing. Un-honed knife only put light scratches into surface as expected. The others suffered deep cuts that actually created strings of plastic that could get into food. Bought all same day, same order and only this one survives.Follow-up:
Type of plastic used in the construction is the reason for my issues. Not being an expert I will just say that all Polys are not created equal and caveat emptor.

Recently used this knife to trim several whole briskets before putting them in the smoker. It made quick work of what was usually a very tedious job. Well balanced, sharp and the grip was very comfortable.

I love this corkscrew because it's small enough to carry in my pocket. I keep a spare in my car and almost always have one in my pocket when I am at social events.The spiral has a sufficiently coarse pitch to quickly grab a cork and fully screw down in two and a half to three turns. The small form factor does not provide optimum leverage for removing corks, but a little adroit jiggling usually overcomes that problem. Besides, this is more of a portable convenience than a bar accessory.
I found the knife to be sufficient for slitting foil, but I recommend confining it to that use because heavier tasks could loosen it in the handle. Not a problem in my opinion, but I have observed folks who have attempted to use the blade as a small general purpose knife.
While I love the size, I also love the stainless steel finish. It's easy to keep clean and sanitary and it gives the corkscrew a professional, no-nonsense look. In that respect the aesthetics follow form because this is a no-nonsense tool that does one thing very well uncork wines with no pretentious adornment or inflated price.

Nice wine opener. It is exactly that a wine opener; stainless steal and well built. Arrived when stated with no issues. This is a nice basic small opener. I prefer this style overall. Sometimes it can be difficult to open the knife piece but I figure that's good so I don't cut myself by accident.

I searched high and low for hanging flatware sets and this was the only set I was able to find. I needed to replace a set that I already owned for many years, as many of the pieces have been lost and a few were dammaged by falling into the disposal. I am very happy with this set. They are a nice, heavy weight and sturdy. The hanging rack is also very nice. The overall appearance is very nice-looks great on my counter. I do not have drawer space for flatware, so this was a must for me. The only downside was that I could not find the sets without the rack, as was mentioned by another customer, as I wanted a complete service for 12. I had to buy 3 complete sets, with the racks, so I probably paid a bit more, but it was all worth it. The set I am replacing was a service for 8 and cost about $80 several years ago. It was 18/10 stainless, and this one is 18/8; I'm not sure what that will mean to me, but might affect the price? Shipping was also a bit high, but considering that no one else had this, I gladly paid it to get these sets, which arrived very fast-way ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend this product if you want (or need) hanging flatware!

I am just thrilled with this flatware set. It has a very substantial feel to it, is of an interesting "cutting-edge" design, and it hangs in a very balanced way on the holder. I was afraid it would have a cheap feel to it, but NOT. I've got it sitting out on my kitchen island; not only is the flatware handy, it all looks quite decorative. Highly recommended.I have owned a set of these for over 7 years. Over time, pieces have "disappeared" (kids probably). But I have looked everywhere for this EXACT set. The pieces I still have look brand new, no forks with staying teeth, spoons aren't disfigurred from bending back and forth, no rust or deteriation and the knifes are (even after used as a screwdriver a few times) flat as they day they were bought. Speaking of flat, the flat tips of the knifes unique and very useful (better than a spatula).I had bought some flatware quite a few years ago and was looking for some that was like it because it's heavy duty. when I saw this on amazon I was so excited because some of my pieces have disappeared. This is great flateware nothing fancy but will last a long time. The fact that it hangs frees up a drawer if you have limited space.

If you're looking for a large cutting board, this is it. I knew the dimensions when I ordered it, but I was nonetheless surprised by its size when I received it. It fits nicely on our island, but pretty much dominates the entire space. For me, that's fine. We use it all the time and it's been easy to clean and though I was worried it would show stains easily, I was surprised to find that so far, at least, it hasn't stained at all.Due to its size, there's little chance you'll fit it in the dishwasher, so you will need to wash it by hand.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this cutting board.
Only two negatives: 1) it's quite slippery and moves around a bit on my counter top. As someone else suggested, a dish towel placed under the board during cutting helps keep it in one place. 2) There's no recessed groove for catching juices
Neither of the negatives should prevent you from ordering this. If you're looking for a large, attractive cutting board, this will certainly do the trick.

What can you say about a flat, rectangular piece of plastic? It's what it says it is. I'd have preferred one with a groove around the edges to catch spills, but this works well.We have a tiled kitchen counter, and this provides a nice sized workspace where we're not worried about spills in the grout or the hard surface of the tiles.
One small drawback. Mine is not perfectly flat. There's probably about an 1/8 inch bow, which you have to expect, I'd think, with a board this large. It means if you put one side down, it rocks a little. If you put the other side down it sit nicely on the four corners.
We keep a dish towel under it anyway, to limit sliding on the counter, and that takes care of the bow.

Wusthof Culinar 8-Inch Bread Knife
There are really two main competitors in the high-end mainstream kitchen knife market: Henckels and Wusthof. Those who have used both usually have a preference. My preference (and therefore bias you should know about) is for the Wusthofs.The Wusthof Culinar line is an all stainless steel look, rather than a black handle. Although the picture and some descriptions want you to think this is a single piece knife, be advised that the hand is a separate piece of stainless steel molded onto the tang. I personally prefer the handle of the Grand Prix and Classic, because the grip is surer for me, but this is, to some extent, a matter of personal preference. This series "looks" more professional to some (like a Viking stove).
This particular model, the 8 inch bread knife, is a great knife. Many people think tomatoes are the hardest food items to clearly cut. I think bread is much more difficult; but this knife makes the task seem easy. My only quibble is the length. I find the 9 inch bread knife to be a better length for most loaves of bread.
I recommend the Wusthof 8" bread knife, but I would try out the 8 inch and the 9 inch to see which you prefer.

Wusthof Gourmet 10-Piece Knife Block Set
After purchasing this item, I realized there are different varieties of Wüsthof knives. The "Classic" and "Grand Prix" are made from forged steel, where as the "Gourmet" series is stamped from a sheet of steel. They look more cheaply made and while I'm sure they are good knives, it's worth your money to have one amazing knife, as opposed to 10 good knives. Thankfully the seller was great about accepting my return. Also of note: the shears were left out of the shipment, likely just a fluke, but make sure you count the pieces when your package arrives! Also, the knives arrived in a 17-slot block, not the 9-slot block mentioned in the description.
Although this set comes with a sharpener, I recommend getting the Wüsthof 2904 Knife-Life knife and scissor sharpener. You will not need to sharpen these knives much, but that sharpener will make your life much easier and will renew every single pair of scissors in your house.
I also recommend, as others have, to never place these knives in the dishwasher. Also be sure to washt hem by hand and thoroughly dry them immediately after use. This will drastically increase their longevity.
If you purchase these, and I propose you do so, then get a travel roll bag for knives. This is because you will want to take them to friends' and family's homes to "show them off"!

We just got these knives for our wedding and were so excited to be the proud new owners of a set of Wusthof knives. What a disappointment we had when we pulled them from the box. These sheet-metal knives look like they'd snap at the very sight of a raw carrot. These knives bent easily, looked cheap and were immediately returned to their box. We plan to stick with Wusthof, but are going to return these and pay the extra for a good set of Classics or Culinars.It's understandable that Wusthof (or any company) wants to provide products for entry-level buyers, and apparently this was the only way to reach this price point. But, after seeing these and reading a couple of reviews, it seems a waste of very good money for knives that don't look like they'll make it through the holidays, muchless years to come.
Save your money and invest in their forged steel!

Swiss Army Brands 40090 Cleaver Chinese, 8-Inch
Arguably, this is one of the better chopping, cleaving, broad utility kitchen knives on the market. It's thin enough to slice very well, and broad enough to act as a scoop to place diced herbs where they need to go. Like all Victorinox / Forschner knives, it's easy to sharpen and maintain. It's weakness, if you want to call it that, is a walnut handle held on by one rivet. (It's a narrow stick tang with solitary pin point if that means anything to you.) Other than that, it's one marvelous example of minimalist extravagance. It'll do what you ask of it, so long as that doesn't require heavy chopping. It's a natural slicer, not a hacker. Learn to choke up on this thing and it becomes a total substitute for a classic 8-10" French Chef's knife.

I always had great experience with Victorinox knives. This chinese cleaver was very sharp like all Victorinox knives. It cuts through carrots like butter. The blade is very thin so it might appear to be flimsy. The thin blade makes it very light, which is great if you do alot of chopping. Do not use this knife to cut through bones or other hard substance. It is great to chop vegetable and slicing meat. When you wash it, water tend to collect in the handle. the handle needs to face up in order for the water to drain. Overall, this is great value for everyday chopping and dicing. It may appear not well constructed but is comfortable enough to use. It has not fallen apart on me yet. If you like a lightly constructed knife with a very sharp edge, this is the knife for you. For the price, this is a good starter knife for someone new in the usage of the chinese cleaver. Once you get use to it, this maybe the only knife you will be using. I bought my first pair of these little scissors about 20 years ago and still use them today. They are practically indestructible, however I did manage to melt a spot on the handle when I accidentally laid them on a hot burner. Nevertheless, they still work perfectly and are still sharp after 20 years. I finally broke down and ordered a second pair. If they weren't quite as expensive, I would have a pair in every room. They are just so handy, and even though they are small, they will cut practically anything. They are also very comfortable to use as the handles are large enough for just about any hands.I actually don't think I could cook without a pair of these in the kitchen. They are the best thing I've found for snipping a few fresh herbs, and can go right to the garden to cut fresh flowers for the dinner table. I have also used them to cut through chicken bones and then tossed them into the dishwasher for sanitizing. If I were to make a list of my favorite kitchen items, these would be right up there with my microplane grater and extra long cooking tweezers that also make my life so much simpler. Bottom line is buy some, you'll love them!

I own three or four pairs of these scissors and wouldn't be without them. A marvel of simple, elegant design, they are tough, sharp, versatile, and comfortable. The large handle loops let you use all four fingers on one side and your whole thumb on the other -they work the same for lefties and righties -or, for even more leverage, you can grab them by the outsides of the handles, which are covered with a rubbery plastic for comfort. When I got my first pair about 25 years ago (still have 'em) I used to show off by using them to cut bottle caps in half. Yet they'll cut paper cleanly. We keep my old pair in the garden for cutting greens, pruning tomatoes, cutting twine and the like, a pair in the junk drawer for all-purpose cutting, and one in the kitchen for everything from slicing open spice packets to cutting up poultry.
